Niceguy - I think that people are able to look behind experts and research facts for themselves.
Particularly economics - it is an art not a science.
I have more faith than you that people will make decisions based on concept of sovereinty. They may not understand the concept and its growing impact on our Judicial system, but they will understand the feel of it as something that is impacting on their daily lives.
Even medical people should be questioned - long gone are the days when we just accept what we are told.
The best treatment should be sought from a number of sources and researched and then a choice made. Not listen to one expert. Dear Lord.
I had bcc skin cancer over ten years ago. I researched various options available and I decided to choose a newer technique. I researched and found someone who carried out procedure, against the initial consultant's advice. I don't have the disfiguring facial scar I would have had with his proposed surgery and I accepted the risk ratio of reccurence - it didnt and I'm now the past the five year risk of recurrence.
If you allow people their choices - they make them and take on risks.
The Remain side are pretending there are not risks to staying. The bigger risks are staying attached to a failing economic zone which doesn't listen and makes people suffer in its failing areas (Greece).
Experts are there to be listed to, however an informed opinion should be made by each person.
I accept your position is to remain, however this whole idea that to stay is the "wise" position is emperor's new clothes I'm afraid. Vested interests want us to remain.
I don't particularly trust anyone regarding politics - make your decision based on your own research.
Luxembourg home to various EU institutions, but also Europe's biggest tax haven - always sits rather strangely with me...
