Welcome one and all!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps (again!)
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone

or

  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

This is what it's all about - Babysteps each day to try to get some order back into our home with LOADS of support from our regulars.

So join in! We start this thread on February 1st, but you are welcome to dive in at any point in the month.

StillCounting
we were talking in code about how old or young we were yes perhaps

hope you are exhilarated rather than exhausted by challenging week

Playroom was truly awful, but it is RESCUED

I think I am going round in circles with books and toys though, at some point I will just have to [throw-whisper] them away

still have to sort bookcases into fiction/non-fiction, ladybird, craft, annuals - just a lucky dip at moment if you find what you are looking for: esp annoying if dcs doing a project on said topic and you just know there is a book on slugs somewhere? but where?

food from freezer in oven
washing veggies, dcs have done some hoovering and ranting but now watching telly peacefully

PositiveAttitude · 26/02/2010 17:19

SC Welcome back. Hope life settles and you are back with us soon.

LOL at the thought of Feetheart and OM starting secondary school to look young!

OM - Yes a different high school, how did you guess.

Swan - Aztecs doing communion may be an interesting combination??

MissB - Galaxy chocolate definitely!
I Hope the attendance Officer call was not too bad. My only dealing with them has been disasterous and my opinion could not be lower, but I hope you get further than I did!!

I seem to have had a very busy week with very little flying!
Today have just tried to maintain the status quo.
Just about to straighten my hair and try and beatify myself for tonight.

Have a good evening everyone.

optimisticmumma · 26/02/2010 17:25

Afternoon ladies.
I am very with myself because I have done an hour's worth of assessment! I am such a procrastinator about paperwork so that was good for me! I always wish I could get stuff done long before the deadline but never can - oh well!
Also :
masterbed donesome
Banking done
Lunch doneandlovely

Am looking forward to a nice glass of white later - sorry SC but have agreed to let DS drive me and 2 friends to a party about 12 miles away first ! . Wish me luck that we get there in one piece!
At least it's stopped raining!
See you later...

elliepac · 26/02/2010 17:33

Afternoon everyone,

sc lovely to hear from you. I hope real life isn't too stressful. We missed you!

om i can never do anything like assessment/scheme of work writing until the very last minute, I think i need the motivation of an upcoming deadling to get me going! Life would be much easier if i wasn't such a lazy moo!

sr looks like you've done loads today.

Big waves to everyone else, we do seem to have lost some along the way this month, if you are lurking out there peeps, come and see us!

Today has been the most disgusting weather wise i have know for a long while, at least snow looks pretty. I think it has been raining for pretty much 24 hours and shows no signs of stopping!

To be honest, haven't done much today but did manage to do morning routine so am pleased that i am managing to keep those going. I can't see much being done tonight though i have had a quick scoot round and am about to go and do the washing up.

Hope it's drier where you are !

droitwichmummy · 26/02/2010 18:35

We always lose some towards the end of the month and around now there are usually some lurkers just waiting for the 1st of next month.

SC hope everything sorts out soon
swan I am so impressed with what you have got done today
OM please let us know first thing tomorrow that you got there and back in one piece!

Hello to everyone else!

Need to go and rescue the kitchen - why can't DH put rubbish in the bin?!

Evening All

Over here to reserve your spot on the brand new March thread!

Welcome back SC and, as DWM says, hope things get better soon.

Have a great weekend everyone, we have guests arriving in the morning so will be away in RL until Sunday night!

QueenofDreams · 26/02/2010 20:34

Hello ladies.
Today has been unusually busy for me - have been out most of the day, so flying has fallen by the wayside a bit.
However,
Got up and dressed to shoes done (after much stress as couldn't find clean, dry trousers)
Toddler gym with DS, back for lunch after, then out to friend's house,
back got ds to nap, then out to shops
back then cooked ds dinner, fed him and have just read him story and got him to bed.

Have managed to do the washing up, but sink is not shined and declutter in bedroom has not been done.

droitwichmummy · 26/02/2010 20:40

I'm first on the shiney new thread! (apart from mm of course )
Please kick me regularly if I don't keep my resolution

OP posts:
missbennett · 26/02/2010 23:36

evening all!
swan you sound like you have done loads! I am very impressed.
Waves to everyone.....
I've done everything off my list and an extra load of washing
But failed with the attendance officer - rang at 9, then 9.10, then 9.20 but they hadn't switched the phones over Then I had to go to work and I didn't stop all day - but I managed to get quite a bit done I suppose. So next week for the attendance officer.
Had a fun evening doing Wii music with DH and DDs! I know family fun time is tomorrow but we've got ahead of ourselves Dh managed to score a spectatcular zero on the hand bells, much to everyone's amusement. Good to spend some time together - afraid it's not a regular occurence here with everyone busy.
Off to mark my place on the new thread.....

droitwichmummy · 27/02/2010 06:48

Good morning everyone

Good babystep today

Interesting Olympic mission
I need to do the olympic closet one
and there is another [[http://www.flylady.net/pages/olympic_workout.asp olympic workout for you fitness people

There is a new Riley's challenge for the DC as well:
Today we are going to go into our rooms and gather up things that
don't belong. Things like, water bottles, cups, glasses, snack
wrappers (you know all those things that you are not supposed to have
in there!! LOL) Let's set a timer for 5 minutes and get to it!
Throw away what needs to be tossed and return the things to the other
rooms in the house where they belong. Have you "borrowed" anything
like scissors or glue that needs to be returned? Make today a put away
kind of day!

Enjoy your day!

OP posts:
elliepac · 27/02/2010 07:02

Morning dwm and everyone else. Coffee on and tea brewing help yourself .

Am loving that Riley's challenge today because i hav just been into DS's room and now know where all my glasses have gone! He's staying at Grandma's tonight but I think we will have to do Riley's challenge before he goes.

Now ladies, can any of you answer this qustion for me please? How come I take one, that's ONE, night off and the house is trashed? I wasn't even in it for most of it! How can one man and two small children make such a mess? Grrrrrrr.

Today's list looks like this:

Remedial cleaning grrrrr
Washing/drying/puttingaway
morning routine
tesco
go out to see dsis new house
ring bank
riley' challenge
clean dc's rooms
evening routine

That will do for me, I also have lots of schoolwork to do this weekend so will have to make some time for that.

Have a good day everyone!

MrsDinky · 27/02/2010 09:20

Morning all,

DH taking DCs to swimmig lessons this am, then we're all off to Grandparents after lunch, so:

Make a cake and some freezer biscuit mix
Ironing/clothes pile awway
Swish and swipe
Washing on

Sure there's a few more things, got to go and supervise DCs dressing, back later.

teamcullen · 27/02/2010 10:31

Morning everybody.

Ive had a busy few days running DSs to clubs and going to DDs electives meeting in school.

Why do we stress more over our DCs options than we ever did with our own. I think she has choosen Music GCSE, Drama GCSE and Resistant Materials GCSE along with the core subjects. I would be absolutly rubbish at music and drama but she seems to have been stalked encouraged by her teachers so hopefully she will do well at them.

Next week its parents evening for all 3 DC so we will have much the same as last week. DS1s school has hired a tutor to give him a bit of extra help with his literacy, which he despratly needs so that is good but it does mean I have to wait around until 4.30pm another night. I already have to wait on Mondays because he has homework club, and we live too far away to go home and come back.

So I am going to just try and keep to my morning and nighttime routines this next week otherwise I will definatly fall off the band wagon and get trampled by it in the process.

This morning I am going to;

Do morning routine
iron clothes for today
Pack DS2 bag for camp Done
Send DS2 off to camp DH taken him done DH said he nearly cried on the bus but held it together with the promise of something nice to eat when he comes home tommorrow.
Buy fabric to make costumes for DSs for world book day
Decide what Ds1 is going as for world book day (DS2 want to go as fantastic Mr Fox
10 miniute room rescue of all rooms
visit mum

Kids are killing each other, going to sort them out. Agghhhh

missbennett · 27/02/2010 12:00

Morning all!
teamcullen you are right about the GCSE agonising.....we've just been through it with DD2, which was as nothing compared to DD1's 3 years ago when she wanted to take 10 subjects and had to choose 5 And after that there was more angst about A level choices! It never ends......
Very little for me today.......I have done my morning routine and given the bathroom a thorough going over.
I have been to Fat club and lost a pound, which is good, given I was away in the week.
I will try and menu plan though not shop because in a bit my friend is picking me up and we are taking her DD2 and my DD1 to meet with her DD1 who is at uni. The DDs are going shopping, as are we but separately then we are all meeting for pizza before we come home, leaving my DD1 behind to stay the night and return via bus tomorrow I am so looking forward to it - been planned for a while!
Hope everyone else has a nice Saturday and the sun shines like it is doing here

droitwichmummy · 27/02/2010 12:31

How are we all doing? Lovely Spring-like sunshine here so I've got some windows open upstairs to give the bedrooms an airing. Thought about hanging washing out but have wimped out - rain is forecast and the lawn looks really muddy and slippery so have compromised by popping it out on the airer so it is quick to get back in again when the heavens open.

Didn't do a list this morning, am going to post what I have done rather than a wish list
SO I have
got up
dressed
breakfasted
DS to swimming
garden centre on way home (seedlings outgrowing trays rapidly )
seen DH off - gone to friend's to help him move and watch the rugby - no idea when he will be home
washing - 1 load done, 1 load in, at least 2 more to go - probably 3 as I intend to change the beds
DW on
sink soaking in bleach
steam press warming up ready to iron

Back later with an update

OP posts:
swanriver · 27/02/2010 18:26

Teamcullen anyone would want to go as George Clooney wouldn't they - what cool fox he makes
dd wants to go as a Enid Blyton schoolgirl with a boater, and ds2 wants to be Perks from Railway Children (although he hasn't read the book
Ellie it is the same here, dh does not believe in afterwork chores, though he is brilliant at putting kids to bed so I forgive him. I always feel behind for two days if I go out in eve. I certainly did this week and I'm not even working like you.

Busy here this morning with usual Sat schedule/clubs/lessons - starting with a tantrum from dd
but the day has been quite pleasant, pizza out, new shoes for dses, just been for a swim with dd (only two lengths as had negotiate hordes of rampaging teenagers)

apologies to anyone I've missed

I am going to do 15 mins more book sorting tonight, v. therapeutic (did some yest as putting dcs to bed)

swanriver · 27/02/2010 19:07

Apologies to those with teenagers, they probably talk of the horrible wheezing shortsighted old grannies obstructing them in the pool

elliepac · 27/02/2010 19:58

Evening everyone,

Am sat here, fresh out of the bath, pj's on, wine to hand, catching up on eastenders on i-player, ds at grandma's, dd in bed, dh in bed, house to myself and house tidy! Bliss .

Hope everyone has had a lovely day!

droitwichmummy · 27/02/2010 20:55

Enjoy your evening ellie

My day's tally now stands at

Good morning everyone - selection of tea/coffee and cake (virtual so no calories ) on the table - help yourselves

V important babystep today and I'm goving you this one too . Nothing too onerous there.

Not sure if we've already had this workout - mogul skiing Its the Living Room on Monday (courtesy of MM )

I'm going to run round like headless chicken finishing off all my weekend stuff today.

See you later

missbennett · 28/02/2010 09:27

Morning!
DWM thank you for coffee and cake - most welcome! And also thank you for keeping us in order this last month

swanriver · 28/02/2010 09:47

My Flying goal for today is:
menu plan for next week(shop on Monday)
write some more floating dates in diary
keep dcs on track with music practice and homework
tidy all the children's drawers (chaos)

otherwise, dh taken ds1 to Percy Jackson film
I'm taking dts to church and hopefully a bit of a run
lunch is v. boring tortelloni and veg

No cake for me Droitwich just been babbling on another thread how I've successfully given up cake

Spiritual Sunday someone mentioned in myother Fly thread that they'd given up shouting for Lent, I think that is my goal for this Lent too. My first test is to get dts to church without shouting - really it is ridiculous the aggro we all get into over this

MiniMarmite · 28/02/2010 20:47

Evening All,

Just popping in to say hello and to thank DWM for her great leadership of such an entertaining thread over the past couple of months.

I'm over to the March thread now to see if I can post ahead for tomorrow.

Goodnight x

droitwichmummy · 28/02/2010 21:26

Good evening!

Thank you for all the lovely things you have said about my efforts to keep you on track My mission for next month is to get myself back on track and not spend quite so long on the PC - I will be checking in every day though

In the spirit of the fat fairy I am off for an early night - or at least DVD in bed

See you on the March thread in the morning
