Morning everyone,

I didn't know if pmpy would get on today and I didn't want the thread to run out of space for our chat housework musings so thought I would create another one.

Hope you don't mind pmpy!

Well bollocks, it should say part 2.

LinzerTorte · 18/02/2011 08:58

Thanks for starting the new thread, ellie!

No time to post now but marking my spot for later. Smile

systemsaddict · 18/02/2011 11:17

Marking place too. Yesterday evening's spot of decluttering was sorting out the explosion of toys in the living room. I now have them in 25 separate categorised plastic bags, some of which have 2 pieces of lego in. This is why I am no good at tidying up - can't distinguish between wood and trees! I did chuck some stuff out though so that's good.

Wink

what to keep this thread nice and clean until at least teatime. Grin

Fuck knows Ellie.

its very restful in here. Not sure that it is quite fits the fat fairy's way though Hmm

Stillchuckingit · 18/02/2011 13:48

Hello everyone

Thanks for new thread Ellie. Just parking my bucket and microfibre cloths ready for this weekend.

Quick post because back to work for me today and as dd was up with a lark and was lowering her Corolle baby doll over the banisters in a harness made of string at 6.30 am whilst singing "Three little mice sat down to spin" at the top of her voice, I decided she was fit enough to go back to school... Grin

Today in Belgium we are "celebrating" 250 days without an official government - country is divided linguistically/politically; and despite numerous attempts at forging coalitions since elections last June, no one seems to have any idea as to how to proceed!! Doesn't seem to have made much difference from street level though tbh, everything seems to be running smoothly enough ...

Heigh ho! Onward and upward and all that. Flew fairly well yesterday so just hoping to fit in an hour or so of master bedroom organisation before evening routine and bed. Set myself deadline of finishing master bedroom completely by Sunday at 5pm. If I don't make it, please shoot me.

Ihatecobwebs · 18/02/2011 14:29

I've found you, and am marking my place, as I'm handing in the sick note Ellie said I could have.

I got us dr appts this morning. We're all in various stages of flu. DS is about better, I'm getting there (we both had flu jabs), but DH is still poorly and has been given antibiotics. Mum phoned and offered to have DS for the weekend, so I've taken him over, and now I can put my feet up, and take things easy for a couple of days (just DH to look after now).

So, mops and brooms have been downed, the cleaning box shut, and my Do List has been filed until next week Shock

Today, just have library books to change (library should be here in a few minutes) and that's it. There's a beef casserole in the fridge for tea, so my work is almost done for the day.

May pop in to chat, but no lists until next week (honest Wink)

pushmepullyou · 18/02/2011 14:40

Thanks for the new thread ellie Smile

I meant to do it last night then completely forgot about it in the excitement of bedtime Grin

Glad to hear your DD is feeling better SC. Although with that kind of start to the day I suspect you may not be!

missjulie · 18/02/2011 15:23

Hey ladies.
Glad i found you!
Have no motivation again today, so not sure am going to get much flying done, had another bad night here!
Hope you are all having a good day.

done list
DD & I up, DD washed & dressed, both fed, watered etc.
Dishes done, sink re-shined.
Mail opened
Emails, texts etc replied to
That's about it today!
:(

Toffeefudgecake · 18/02/2011 15:41

Ihatecobwebs - I'm glad you can have a child-free weekend and get some rest. You really need it. Well done for ditching those lists for a change. Get well soon.

Just packing to go to my mum's house tomorrow morning. I have to wriggle into the darkest, smallest part of our loft annex to get the case. It feels like caving and it can be very difficult to get out again. If I don't come back here later, send out a search party, please.

Toffeefudgecake · 18/02/2011 16:25

Right, time to get packing. The children are being unbearably loud today. Why do they have to scream all the time? It's hurting my ears. Have just put on a film for them to watch, in the hope that it will distract them and quieten them down. But first, time for a Brew.

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 18/02/2011 16:25

Marking my spot, back later. INSET day here, not much Flying going on.

ColdHeartedBitch · 18/02/2011 17:53

I have had a lazy day, and have a surprise babysitter so going training tonight. Very much appreciated but as i was resigned to a night in I havent quite got the Friday training vibe going yet.

done
Strip ds' bed
collect washing near washing maching
wash quilt
put washing machine on a vinegar rinse
Run dishwasher
Get ironing board fixed
Hoover through downstairs

The very exciting plan for tomo includes a 60C soda crystal wash
Washing
folding
Do stuf with ds - probably messy stuff - perhaps finish the paper mache alien head we were making back in October.

OverflowingMum · 18/02/2011 19:40

hello all!
Popping in briefly to touch base.
Have had mad busy week, with NO INTERNET aaarrrrggghhh
Finally have internet back up and running...no chance of ever catching up with the thread - so just hope you're all OK!
Am away for weekend...but will be back on Monday Grin

LinzerTorte · 18/02/2011 20:21

Managed to catch up on the flying a little this afternoon and got DH to help me declutter some paperwork - time to find out how my new shredder works now, I think.

OFM No Internet! Shock I would be suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms...

CHB Hope the training goes well tonight. DD2 wants to go ice skating this weekend - the rink is due to close at the end of February (until next winter), so I suppose we ought to make the most of it.

Ogre I never manage to get any much flying done when the DC are around.

Toffee Hope you have a good journey tomorrow and a lovely time at your mum's.

missjulie Hope you have a better night tonight.

cobwebs No scary lists? Shock

SC Glad to hear your DD is better, and good luck with the master bedroom.

Am going to try and have an earlyish night tonight; the DC (DD2, DS and DS's friend - DD1 is staying overnight at the neighbours') are all sleeping in one room tonight so goodness knows what time they'll be up tomorrow. If half-term (when they all slept in the same room) is anything to go by, anything after 6.30 am will be a lie-in. We've decided to brave Ikea tomorrow (normally a nightmare on a Saturday; shops are closed on Sundays here, which makes Saturday shopping a particularly stressful experience) and may even take two of the DC's friends with us, but are planning on depositing them all at Smaland!

pushmepullyou · 18/02/2011 21:51

Evening fledglings Smile

Tomorrow's babystep is to read flylady's testimonial. In the spirit of research and dedication to the thread I have read it and it is here if you wish to do the same. Alternatively if you feel like a day off from the babysteps tomorrow would be a good day to choose! Grin.

No missions tomorrow as it's the weekend. Enjoy Family Fun Day Smile

Makingchanges · 18/02/2011 22:02

Evening all

CHB I often feel like chucking my PGCE stuff (not a good idea as not even finished the course yet)

Toffee enjoy your visit to your mums

MissJulie hope tonight is much better for you

Ihatecobwebs hope you are all better soon

Hello to everyone else

Had two busy days at uni and even managed yoga last night - was great, really felt de-stressed afterwards. Not tonight though, sat in two hours of traffic due to accident on M1.

Have done some shopping tonight, replied to important e-mails and done some filing. Have also booked intense swimming course for next week- 6 lessons over 6 days (and 6 childcare arrangements)-Shock

Am going to look for e-cloths tomorrow when I go shopping, they sound fab.

Have gym session booked in early tomorrow morning and DD has dance class and then tickets for John Bishop tomorrow night - only thing stopping me enjoying my day tomorrow is a mountain of housework to climb up.

Back tomorrow - Hope you are all well.

swanriver · 18/02/2011 22:11

very quiet here today - perhaps everyone's having a romantic time with homeloving husbands Hmm

I have had a VERY GOOD DAY flywise
and woo hoo it's half term

Toffee enjoy visit to your mum. A visit to our garret loft is a bit like potholing too ShockGrin

pushmepullyou · 18/02/2011 22:26

Goodness me, but I'm tired tonight. The round up may be a little less comprehensive than usual I'm afraid!

nettie sneaked in under cover of darkness to tell us that she misses us and that her DC are being generally troublesome. Her DD is poorly though poor thing Sad. She's back in a week. Yay Smile

Toffee was woken early by her DS and is packing to go to her mums tomorrow. She is in the loft and has requested a search party if she doesn't come back later. Think it is later now though . Hellloooo toffee - are you there? Grin

ellie very kindly created us a shiny new thread. 1000 posts and still 10 days of February to go Shock. I definitely didn't expect this level of activity when I volunteered for thread hosting duty Wink

Linzer has marked the thread and CHB has cleaned it grin]. Linzer is contemplating braving ikea tomorrow (brave or foolish?) and CHB is going traing this evening with a very exciting 60o wash planned for tomorrow.

OFM popped by to say hello. She has had no internet this week, which is a frankly terrifying prospect for many of us!

ihate and family are still poorly, poor things. She is very sensibly having a rest for a few days.

missJulie is flying well, but feeling a bit low. Hope you have a good night tonight Smile. There are often a fair few of us hanging around middle of the night mumsnet if you fancy a bit of company.

ogre has an inset day so is not doing much flying

makingchanges has had a busy and productive day. We have worn her down with our e-cloth enthusiasm and she's going to look for some tomorrow Grin

I've been at work today rather than working from home, so am more tired but have achieved less . Off to put my feet up, see you all later Smile

pushmepullyou · 18/02/2011 22:30

Oops sorry, forgot SC, which is very rude of me as she has been so kindly filling in each time I cba have been unavoidably unable to post! Her DD is feeling much better and has been packed off back to school. She has bravely set herself a target of finishing the master bedroom by 5pm Sunday...

swanriver · 18/02/2011 22:31

Cobweb lovely mum!
SC your child is a genius.
I so sympathise with master bedroom itis. Only a valance lies between me and despair. The scaletrix sets lurk beneath...
Although it has improved recently...I find moving the furniture round a tonic Smile and even throwing the clothes in the cupboard is better than them lying on chairs. Then I tidy the cupboard as a 15 min thing later...
Dh is not tidy either. That's all I have to say.
The other thing I find helps is to put every personal thing in the room away (photos, ornaments, mementos) and then slowly re-introduce them, when the room is tidier. If I want to..Hmm
