Morning everyone,

I didn't know if pmpy would get on today and I didn't want the thread to run out of space for our chat housework musings so thought I would create another one.

Hope you don't mind pmpy!

Morning everyone,

I tried to post last night but bizarrely it wouldn't let me so I gave up. I did manage to achieve my list though so felt quite smug but I was blooming knackered at the end of the day and was in bed by 9.30!

Today is last day of holidays so am planning to take it relatively easy although am still conquering mount washmore and I don't want to get told off by pmpy again Wink.

List looks like this:-

Washing
Drying
Putting away
Find everything for school
Cook Sunday Lunch
Go to Dsis's for coffee
Relax at some point!

missjulie I hope you managed to get some sleep last night to get over your horrible day. Lack of sleep is soul destroying. DD has been a really good sleeper from 8 weeks (about the only thing she does like she is supposed to Grin) but DS was a nightmare right up until he was about 2/3 so I do feel your pain. I would offer some tips but we failed miserably at everything we tried. Have you tried the Sleep forums on here for some tips?

pmpy I am not a million miles from you either. About an hour away from Leeds in North Lincolnshire. I went to uni in Leeds and absolutely loved living there, good memories Smile. Still pop back occasionally to see friends and to shop Grin.

darts welcome back, we missed you Smile. Happy Birthday to your DS for yesterday!

sr you are right about the dress sense bombing. DD is going through a phase of choosing her own clothes and it's driving me to distraction. One day last week (a beautiful warmish spring like day) she decided she was going to wear her snow suit and I had to take her to the shop in snow suit, hat and gloves, we got some rather weird looks Grin. DS still lets me choose his clothes and he is 7 Grin

makingchanges hope you and DH enjoyed your child free night Envy.

Anyway, DD is demanding (definitely not asking politely Grin) breakfast so had better go before she wakes DH and DS up and possibly the neighbours! Back later.

still here haven't been about for a few days but hopefully back to normality today - the only thing is so much to catch up on.

elliepac · 20/02/2011 13:31

Lordy, it's quiet in here today? Is everybody off doing lovely things whilst I cook Sunday Lunch and be boring Grin.

I'm here......

swanriver · 20/02/2011 14:29

Ellie LOL at snowsuit, that sounds familiar, except here it's usually shorts and teeshirt in November Grin
My boys (gosh I've never used that phrase before) don't mind what they wear.

Dh is in a very tense/hyper mood, I think he's having a reaction to last week's events at PILS, and getting very upset about his brother's behaviour (not helping enough), worrying about his parents etc etc.
I've taken kids to church, my brother and SIL have come for a quick visit with baby, we've had lunch, dd now going to see a friend.

I think we all feel pretty exhausted, just trying to remember it is halfterm and no need for us to be strung out. Hopefully next week should be a bit more relaxing for both dh and I.

elliepac · 20/02/2011 15:19

I've just done exactly the same in my kitchen swan facing the debris from Sunday Lunch!

ellie, thanks for that. When we finally got her home from hosp, she was great for two weeks (think she was still just really sleeping, with not actually having meant to be 'here' yet). Then, it took MONTHS, 6 months or so, for her to sleep through the night. She turned night into day, and our HV just said to go with it, go with her, so i did. DH works away all the time, so just the 2 of us in the house, so i just napped when she did. Then, one night, she slept right through! And did so virtually night for about 2 months. Then, all of a sudden has turned night into day again - almost a month of that now!
I am a night owl too, and DH thinks she is just taking after me! I haven't tried sleep forums since real early on. When she DOES sleep, she will sleep for a good 8, 9, 10, sometimes even 12 hours, so am not too concerned, think it may hopefully be just a phase!?!?!?!

Hope everyone is having a good day?!
xxx

missjulie · 20/02/2011 18:02

Cleaned kitchen worktops, did dishes, shined sink.
Put 3 loads of washing away.
Washed 3 loads of washing (still more to do!!)

  • still of course to dry it all, and put away....
Emptied all bins. Sorted re-cycling. Filled bird feeders. Tidied a little outside (in my pjs Blush Blush Chatted to friend on FB chat thingy. Replied to texts, and emails. Just sat down for a short rest, and to have a Brew

Finally got to sleep about 4 am last night!
Hoping tonight shall be better! Got to get up at 7.30am tomorrow for imminent descent of parents for the day!

Think that's all to report for now!
xx

ColdHeartedBitch · 20/02/2011 18:03

evening. been out and doing with ds today. Am shattered. No flying. Plans to take ds out tomo too. And Tuesday morning. So there will be no flying done as by the time i have managed crazy child being out and about, and all the people that go with half term and doing stuff I am ready for sleep. Plan for tonight - early night.

missjulie · 20/02/2011 18:03

Oh yeah, and i put up 4 'beanie' fish to hang from DD's ceiling above her cotbed.

Makingchanges · 20/02/2011 18:33

Missjulie sounds like you managed to get lots done. DD switched night and day and I'm definately a night owl so I know just what you are going through, although I did have DH at weekends.

Swan hope DH's mood changed for the better as the day went on.

CHB enjoy your days out with DH

Well we have a lovely night last night at John Bishop Gig - it was brill. Even better though was a lie-in this morning. Have then been for a drive to a sports shop outlet. Managed to by a pair of new reebok trainers for £10 and a pair of new fila trainers for £2 - DH not impressed though (I certainly don't need any more trainers) Then had a nice lunch out with DH, DD and In-laws.

Jobs done

  • Two loads of washing
  • Sorted out clean washing pile into each persons for them to put away - put away DDs
  • Been to caravan site and paid this years pitch fees [shocked]
  • Laminated some work for DH and some recipes for me for my monthly menu plan - 20 WW recipes that I am going to rota - laminated and filed course I always get food all over them.

To DO

  • Pack swimming bag for DD and me for tomorrow - First one of my intense lessons - One everyday until Saturday [wobbly legs emoticon]
  • Uni work for tomorrow - Have to drive all the way to Uni (upto an hour away) for a 20 min 1-2-1 tutorial.
  • Tidy computer table
  • Read another chapter of my book
  • Sort through pile of bags under stairs
  • Try and fix hoover Sad

Have a good evening everyone

Makingchanges · 20/02/2011 18:34

argh CHB DS not DH

ColdHeartedBitch · 20/02/2011 18:53

Shock you trying to marry me off MC? There aint no dh here.

Makingchanges · 20/02/2011 18:57

Grin sorry CHB

ColdHeartedBitch · 20/02/2011 18:58
Grin
swanriver · 20/02/2011 19:28

Saw SIL today (if we are talking about sleeping babies now Grin) who said her little 5 weeker was now sleeping from 7pm till 1.30 then 2- till 5.30.Shock (and every hour till 8am thereafter not so good perhaps...)No routine, just that the baby has cracked it! My SIL has never even heard of Gina Ford. I think babies can sometimes be very sensible...
missjulie you have done loads, sounds like a lovely productive day enjoying the baby and getting lots done.

I have cooked supper (stirfry, very nice) for all, done some shopping for packed lunches next week, bought some Sushi Smile
tidied kitchen once
and about to do it all over again Hmm

CHB halfterms can be a challenge - I think the kids are just as shellshocked by all that parenttime as us.

swanriver · 20/02/2011 19:31

MC saw John Bishop on telly last night for a while, were you in the audience Shock? I suddenly realised who you were talking about (not very sussed on comedians)

Makingchanges · 20/02/2011 19:35

Swan no he was live at Sheffield Arena. He was very good. He hasn't been around for long just the last year or so and so not many people recognise the name.

Am battling to put DD to bed. Washing machine is still on and her bedroom is right above it. Until she goes, I can't get on with my uni work Grr

Stillchuckingit · 20/02/2011 20:24

Hello everyone. Hope you had good w/es (those of you that aren't too sleep-deprived anyway) and those of you that are - hope you can catch up on rest tonight.

Very quick post because am finishing some work for tomorrow while everything is quiet (still catching up post-lurgy).

Moved some boxes Swan but no heavy furniture! Yes, dh made it finally, although he's still not 100% (on his way back now). He's heading back again mid-week for overnighter, then next w/e again.

Sorry, very rude of me but no more personal messages except to say it's great to see you back Darts!

Oh yes, and as for small matter of finishing master bedroom by 5.30pm this evening or you can shoot me ...let's just say you had better oil your barrels and take aim Blush
It's better, but no way near finished ....spent far too long grooming muddy horses this morning (much more satisfying than dusting and they make nice appreciative snorting/nickering noises too)

Back tomorrow when, after work, the never-ending saga of the master bedroom will keep boring you all including myself to death continue ...

OgreTripletsAreSoCute · 20/02/2011 20:57

Evening all,

Unproductive day here, best you could say about the state of the house was that I felt like I was treading water all day, seemed to be in the kitchen clearing stuff all day without any discernible improvement. I have decided to sort out the toy boxes in the lounge tonight.

MC - can't make up my mind about John Bishop, he looks irritating but he is funny. Glad you enjoyed it.

SC - didn't make any headway with my bedroom either this weekend.

CHB - hope you are in bed.

MissJ - wishing you a good night's sleep too

Swan - hope DH manages to de-stress soon

Darts - welcome back.

Night all.

pushmepullyou · 20/02/2011 22:10

Happy Sunday all Smile

Tomorrows babystep is to check out ask flylady. Yet another one I have never done Blush, but if you're feeling inspired the link is here.

Tomorrow's mission is here. Can't remember which zone we're in tomorrow and the links haven't been updated yet so it will have to be an exciting surprise for the morning Grin.

I hope no one minds but I think I might skip the roundup tonight. At work tomorrow and feeling a bit bleurgh so coud do with going to bed really.

Sleep well all Smile

swanriver · 20/02/2011 23:07

push hope work goes alright tomorrow.

I have just been watching South Riding on telly, it is fab! Can't decide whether to order book and see what happens next or just enjoy the suspense..

Ogre my Sundays are usually like that (I mean clearing things with no discernable progress and a feeling of tension about Monday morning. But not so bad today, I think having people over has helped. And dd being in a great mood Smile Also dh taking boys out to play football when they were just starting to drive us both crackers and be rude loud and untidy Blush It is like having dogs, more and more I see they just need to endlessly be taken on walks...

LongtimeinBrussels · 21/02/2011 00:16

Hi, I'm sort of new on here. I say sort of because I did join once before only to not really get into flying.

I used to be super tidy when my ds's were little but over the years (three dcs and a dh who don't mind a bit of mess so I felt I was swimming against the tide) I've got lazy relaxed about the state of the house. I've been busy with plenty of things plus I used to care about the house more. We've not really had the money to do much with it so I don't have the enthusiasm I used to have to keep it looking nice.

Anyway, my rather untidy ds1 came into the kitchen/dining room area today and said "it's rather untidy in here" which made me think that it must have been REALLY bad! As an excuse, I was sorting out/chucking out old school papers (so I guess it was sort of flying?) and my dd was doing her homework on the dining room table with her papers spread out but still!

I'm slightly concerned that being on this thread will be another distraction (because the state of my house is directly linked to how much time I spend on the computer!) but I live in hope!

I see that Stillchuckingit is also in Belgium (waves)! Whereabouts are you SC?

missjulie · 21/02/2011 02:45

Hello longtime. I am fairly new to this thread too (just a couple of weeks).

So, since last posted, done list:
Decorated the cake,
Blew up balloons,
Put up birthday banner & balloons,
Washed another 3 loads of washing, put 2 dry loads away.....so many more yet to dry!
Made dinner, fed myself and DD,
Got all DD's meals etc ready for tomorrow,
Looked out clothes for tomorrow (lovely party dress for grandad's 60th for DD!),
Did dishes,
Re-shined sink,
Replied to yet more texts and emails,
Sorted out a mammoth pile of paperwork on living room unit.

Only just got DD to bed! (2.20am) Hope she goes to sleep!!!
I will have to get up around 7am tomorrow to finish getting things ready before parents land! Still got to wrap presents, dust living room, hoover everywhere, mop kitchen & bathroom floors, and quickly clean the toilet. (and sort myself & DD..........and all by 11am)

Hope everyone is having a good sleep!

Perhaps 'see you' tomorrow, parents permitting!
Wish me luck!
