Morning everyone,

I didn't know if pmpy would get on today and I didn't want the thread to run out of space for our chat housework musings so thought I would create another one.

Hope you don't mind pmpy!

OP posts:
ColdHeartedBitch · 27/02/2011 23:35

this could get confusing

Toffeefudgecake · 27/02/2011 23:38

Should someone tell them we are here? Or have we been seen and rejected Confused?

ColdHeartedBitch · 27/02/2011 23:41

Possibly seen and rejected but i dont think they have realised we are a long standing thread. Bit off imo to use the flegdlings bit.

Maybe we need the word "original" in the title this month.

But then again i am not the best person to comment.

Toffeefudgecake · 27/02/2011 23:52

Yes, that word does suggest we have been noticed. Maybe we are too busy for them (or too scarily efficient Wink?).

missjulie · 28/02/2011 00:23

Hello lovely flyers!
Sorry not been about much!
That other thread could get quite confusing!!! Are we going to tell them we are here?????

Have briefly read the thread! What a lot of reading!
Seems like most have had good wkends!

Hello to the people that have come back, that i haven't met before!

pmpy - glad you are feeling better. When are you due?

linzer - hope laptop probs are sorted. Hope sleeps are all better tonight, and no bed wetting. Hope what i am going through does get easier! , Am tired, which doesn't help! Was doing far too much - going out to all sorts of baby groups, and my DH made me give most of them up - he was right, i am glad he did, as i am still tired, but not feeling as bad as i was! Just lonely though! So glad i have found MN and all you lovelies!

ellie - enjoy the x factor!!!

ballind - glad you are enjoying flying! Does give you an enormous sense of satisfaction!

still - are you still cold? Still gas smell? had it seen to yet? You poor thing! Not really any mett ups locally - did try before, but it fell apart. Might try again. Can only do this when having a 'good' day though!

toffee - hope shoulder/neck is still ok? Hope DS2 is better too. Is so hard being on your own, you're right! Enjoy the wkend visit! Shall let you know if i find that bird! Blush, think there is a Bermuda triangle in our house!!! lol!

ihate - yum - pancakes! Am coming for breakfast!!! Set a place! I have checked for the bird EVERYWHERE - below, above, under, behind - no joy!!! I wonder too, how on earth do they catch bats!!! Confused

swan - hope i find kindered spirits! If not, i have MN! Also hope the teething is over soon! Am dosing her with Neurofen for children, and bonjela, and using a cooling 'snail' for teething that i keep in the fridge, and bicipegs (which she loves), and have ordered an amber teething necklace, thanks to a lovely fellow MNetter!

PA - 236 socks!!!! My god!!!! Well done on all the flying!!!!

CHB - hope you feel better soon!

Am off to find March thread!

xxxx

Hello to everyone else i haven't mentioned personally!

missjulie · 28/02/2011 00:32

Will someone let me know when the new thread is started? Thanks!

So, my wkend - been real tired, and still a bit headachy, although tonight it is aok, back to normal! Phew!
managed to go for walks with DD each day, to visit the chickens, and horses. Must admit, i have had to drag my ass out to do it, but have enjoyed it! (even with the ongoing sore back)
Yesterday i did manage to go to mums, and sorted out another 4 boxes of all my old stuff! Phew! Only got a few boxes of clothes to do now, and some paperwork etc.! Light at the end of the tunnel! Grin
Today, DD was at her first kiddies party! Twin girls, aged 3 today! It was nice! Only got home 8pm!
Have managed to shine my sink several times daily - have become quite obsessed about that! And have managed to look out all clothes for following days, and make up DD meals for next days, that's really about it.

Tomorrow is another day though!
Help me keep motivated!

xx

Toffeefudgecake · 28/02/2011 00:50

Just passing through on my way to bed (I keep saying that tonight Blush). Glad to see you here. You say you gave up all the baby groups because they were too tiring - wouldn't it be worthwhile starting to go again, even if just to one? You need adult company, especially when your DH is away and you are having a tough time with your baby. I would say it's looking after a baby that's exhausting, not going to baby groups.

You sound incredibly organised, btw. Well done on all the sink shining and decluttering.

Really, really must go to bed now or I will suffer for this tomorrow (well, I will now anyway. Why can't I go to bed when I know I should? Confused).

See you tomorrow. Hope you get a decent night's sleep tonight!

missjulie · 28/02/2011 01:18

Incredibly organised!!! Lol! I wish!
Shall PM you! x

PositiveAttitude · 28/02/2011 07:20

Good morning everyone. Grin

Well after my flying day yesterday I have got off to a flying start this morning. I think I must have suddenly succumbed to a serious case of tidyitis. Dont bother with a cure, it feels quite good after 44 years! Grin I cant stop tidying!! Shock - so un fat fairy ish, but hey, tidy house, so I dont care!!

Toffee -Dont be put off too much, just remember how long I have been here and how absent i have been over the past months - recently because I was too embarrassed to pop my head in and admit I was failing yet again!! Blush

WhoKnows - well done on persevering with MN on KIndle, its too much of a faff for me!!

Ellis - X-factor!!! Envy Go girl!!!!

Overflowing - I sympathise with you over the Half-term messy house. Now that my 5 are older, I have to admit that I get far more housework done when it is the school holidays than I do on a working week. I still love the holidays though and having all the DCs around.

DD1 went back to Blackpool yesterday after a lovely week here. In some ways it was better than a Christmas week, as there was far less stress involved. Wink

Right, you may notice an absence of a list today.... yeah, no excuses, I will just go with the flow after work. Although do need to go to Waitrose tonight and do a massive restock after having all DCs eating like locusts for the last week.

Have a good day everyone and if I dont see you back here later, I'll see you on the MArch thread. Smile

LinzerTorte · 28/02/2011 07:32

Morning all,

I posted on the other fledgling flyers thread to invite them over here - although from the title alone, it sounds like they're already aware of us.

missjulie Whoever starts the new thread - which will be WhoKnows in March - usually posts a link to it at the end of the previous month's thread, so you just need to check this thread!
I would second Toffee's suggestion about rejoining at least one baby group, especially with your DH away. I know what it's like, as I didn't start going to any organised groups until DD1 was nine months old (I was too tired and they always seemed to clash with her nap times), but I did see a few friends from my antenatal classes during that time as I would have gone mad without any adult company whatsoever during the day.
I really wish MN had been around when DD1 was born, but even now that the DC are older, it's still a lifeline for me. I rarely have the chance to chat to other adults in English, so it's virtually my entire English social life!

Nettie Great titles as usual. Grin We had "mad as March hares" last year IIRC, but I don't think it really matters as I can't imagine it leading to any confusion!

Lovely to see you again MiniM.

Right, must get on with today's list:

Good morning everyone!

Crikey! Lot's of new activity on here since yesterday!!

Dashing off to work but just wanted to say thanks for steps PMPY and round-up and glad your migraine is better.

Thanks for tips about heating Swan I'll get that looked in to - still a bit chilly here - phoning people now.

Huge waves to PA

And great to see you back Mini-M How is Mini-mini-Marmite???

Usually happy to do honours but not sure that I can volunteer to lead thread in March, because I am away for two weeks of it and very busy in between. Same goes for April I'm afraid. Happy to back up both months when I am here though.

Any other offers? Pref. someone who hasn't done it before?

Huge waves to everyone else!! Got to dash - back later - have a great day

NettieISroundlikefiggypudding · 28/02/2011 08:35

Im going to run away and get moving hope to come back later and properly catch up with thread.

Have a lovely day.

If I can get on board again this month properly I would like to lead Aprils but I'm gonna have to figure out how to put a link in first! Blush

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 28/02/2011 09:24

Ok, have started a new thread for March here

March

And before all you proof-readers start on me, I know I made a mistake in the title which is going to bug me all month now. Never mind!

elliepac · 28/02/2011 09:29

Morning all! ANother lovely MOnday morning, oh how I love them Hmm.

Had a lovely time yesterday with DD, we did some baking and went to the park and she helped me prepare dinner. DS had a wonderful time at his sleepover and came back full of tales to tell Smile.

Was very organised last night, all clothes were ready, bags packed and then DS threw a spanner in the works by being poorly this morning with a headache and a temperature. So he has stayed at home with DH.

I will quite happily act as back-up this month although i am away for a couple of weekends so will struggle to lead properly.

Hope everyone is ok!

Back later when I have formulated some kind of list!

OP posts:
swanriver · 28/02/2011 09:46

Secondary School Results tomorrow!!!Help! I like all of our first four choices, it is just that the suspense is killing us all [and ds1 might not get any of them....[whisper] If he doesn't get any of his first four choices I will be on the War Path, so that is vaguely exciting (perhaps not)

I'm also waiting for SIL to ring me up and confirm she needs "Baby"sitting this morning/afternoon whilst she goes back to clinic.
can I remember how to entertain a "lively" baby of 6 weeks for 3 hours? Who has no set routine????May have to do lots of silly songs Grin

Dcs back at school.

List
PE kits - locate and sort
breakfast dishes
piano practise while I thnk of it
wash some woollens while I think of it
sort out project hotspot

not going to attempt HomeBless as it always makes me rather depressed to fail....

swanriver · 28/02/2011 09:47

I would offer to help with the thread but for one reason, I genuinely can't do links. If it was just Roundup I could manage fine.

ballinderrymum · 28/02/2011 09:48

hi all - yesterday was a productive day - lots of soup made, yummy dinner made, baked with DD (banana and date flapjacks - MN recipe of the week) ate alot of them Blush, washing dried, ironing done, hovered (don't know why i bothered DH chopping wood and sawdust everywhere Angry ), and enjoyed glorious weather.

Stillchuckingit · 28/02/2011 14:48

Morning all

Just dashed back from work and off to do school run in precisely 60 seconds

Hope my post didn't sound too officious this morning - I was in "stressed get to the office and start my 5000 little jobs mode"!!

DingDong/Ogre/Who Knows Thank you for new thread (great title!) Are you sure you don't mind running it, especially as you have done it before? Really kind of you!

I'm feeling guilty because looking at my calendar, I can't do March or April or May now either (crowds of visitors here first two and a half weeks of May) but hereby put myself forward for June if we are all still going strong!!!

OK, off to drive around roundabouts the wrong way ...

swanriver · 28/02/2011 15:20

SC we have already marched into March Grin - WhoKnows is organising everything!

LinzerTorte · 28/02/2011 15:30

Feeling slightly stressed (DS's friend plus big brother here and three boys does not equate to tidiness or quiet) but am determined not to give up for the day. DD1 has just got the biscuits out, which I hope might give me a few minutes of peace (must ignore crumbs everywhere).

swan How exciting - let us know tomorrow! We are starting to think about secondary schools for DD1, as they move up at 10 here - grammar school or not?

ballinderrymum lol at hovering Grin

Nettie If I can manage to do links, anyone can!

You just need to put the website (plus any words you want highlighted that link to the website) in two square brackets, e.g.

Today's babystep is {{http://www.flylady.net/pages/begin_babysteps.asp here}}

(but using square brackets instead of curly ones)

would give

Today's babystep is here

Quick update:

15 mins decluttering in living room done

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 28/02/2011 15:54

SC I suspect we will still be here in June! Was it you that started this thread originally? Did you ever in your wildest imagination think it would last 18 months (or whatever)?

Stillchuckingit · 28/02/2011 15:56

Swan thanks - yes - that's what I was referring to

Isn't Whoknows = Ogre????

am confused now (my permanent state!!) Grin
