ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 29/12/2010 12:47

I did it yonks ago (origional threads Wink) , have drunk alot of tea slipped since then and really want to start it again as it really seemed to work for me :) I am going to blitz as much as I can before the 1st (tree/decs away tonight etc.) so I am starting as much as I can with a clean sheet :) Anyone a lapsed flyer (or whatever we call ourselves) or wants to be a domestic goddess (Hmm) as of the 1st? long the oven liner sounds good, but must admit I put everything in the oven in trays to avoid having to clean the shelves!

I haven't done much today Blush DD & I popped round to see a friend this morning & ended up having lunch there & not getting home until 3! Oh well, I've got a day off work tomorrow so will have to catch up then.

Hope you have all been more productive than me!?

Carrotsandcelery · 14/03/2011 21:03

I have done nothing except unloading and loading the dishwasher today. Well I have done lots but just not anything related to housework. I am too shattered now so it will have to wait in this house too.

Dosey · 15/03/2011 09:58

morning, I didnt get much at all done yesterday. I had a sneaky peak at the week at head of flylady and most of them jobs for this week I do anyway with my house blessing. I have just decorated the bathroom so its looking good anyway so this week I might just stick to the houseblessing and my daily routines. I have been getting out in the garden too and been tidying up and put some plants in so thats looking good.

Hope we are all well, anybody deserving maltesers today??? I feel I am in malteser debit!!!!!

Carrotsandcelery · 15/03/2011 11:11

I definitely owe Maltesers all round. I have just unearthed my kitchen worktops though, hoovered downstairs, cleaned out the small furries, emptied and reloaded the dishwasher, put on a wash and decluttered the kitchen table so it feels a bit better here.

I am thinking about going back to the daily routines and the daily missions as the detailed cleaning list is a bit too much for me at the moment and it is putting me off altogether. There is too much other stuff going on. Personally I would be better off decluttering for now.
Today's mission is here
My bathrooms are still gleaming with swishing and swiping so there won't be much work in there I don't feel.
For those who can manage it the zone for this week is here
As Dosey says the majority of that comes under my weekly house blessing too so I won't be too far out. Grin

Carrotsandcelery · 15/03/2011 11:13

As for the garden Dosey we had snow at the weekend and now it is bucketing so it can wait for now really!

bessie26 · 15/03/2011 22:48

carrots don't blame you for focusing on the decluttering over the detailed cleaning, it is much more important ("you can't clean clutter" etc)

I think I need to refocus on the daily stuff too, DH was doing a great job of sink shining, but seems to have let that slip of late so think I need to take that job back from him.

It's my last week at work this week so need to make a little plan of what I can/need to do in the house next week. DH was unwell last weekend (he slept through the rugby! Shock) so it's unlikely the dining room will be finished this weekend Sad which has scuppered my original plan of clearing the spare room (it's full of boxes from the dining room), but I'm sure I'll find something to keep me busy!

SharonGless · 16/03/2011 07:01

daily mission

Morning all - sorry have been MIA but been away for few days with my sister. Had a fab time and feel loads better -was getting very run down.

How is everyone doing? My house is tidy but dirty iyswim so need to get back to the routine. I know what you mean Carrots about getting too involved in the detailed lists. Feel like I am still on decluttering

Carrotsandcelery · 16/03/2011 12:57

Morning all! I am feeling like I must have made some progress this year as I am automatically doing everything which has popped up as a mission so far this week [chuffed emoticon]

I have definitely decided to spend a few weeks focussing more fully on the basic routines. I went through it last night again and life was so much better this morning Grin

Dosey · 16/03/2011 21:55

hi everybody, I have done everyone of my daily routines today and will go to bed feeling happy and get up again feeling the same. I will get my blessing done this week too and hopefully a little more gardening. Has anybody read the organised thread which is on the home page, there are some useful tips on there. Though I do like being a flyer!!!

Hope you are all well xxx

Carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2011 10:28

Morning Dosey - I had a look through the organised thread too. I realised that through flying I was doing a lot of it already [beams!] There were a few gems in there though.
I am on ironing today as the pulley is groaning it is so full. The wash basket is empty though so it is mostly good.
We did our routines last night and it does make the morning run more smoothly.
Our garden is a swamp just now though as the snow has melted and it is still raining so it will be ignored for now!
What are the rest of you up to?

SharonGless · 17/03/2011 21:42

Hi I am struggling to get focused after my little break to be honest. Washing and ironing up to date just about and swished bathroom but not done much else.
Tomorrow is another day!
Carrots and Dosey well done on keeping up with the routines

Carrotsandcelery · 17/03/2011 21:45

If you could see the kitchen we are sitting in you wouldn't be praising me Sharon - it is not pretty. I suspect Dosey gets the Maltesers today Grin
Not much will happen tomorrow though as dh has a rare day off so we are going out to play (and buy dd a birthday present)

SharonGless · 18/03/2011 21:25

How did your day off go Carrots?
How is everyone else tonight?

I have been to work today so just sat down after swimming lessons and tea. Have tidied kitchen, put another washing load on. I did the car tonight and about to clean out my handbag now (it is Friday!) Not much else achieved tbh

Carrotsandcelery · 18/03/2011 21:30

Hi Sharon - we have had a lovely and productive day thanks, mostly shopping Grin although we did also go for lunch.
We have decluttered the kitchen table, done a load of washing, folded a mountain of washing etc. We still need to finish the dishes and shine the sink but the night is young(ish). The car is also done but forgot to do my handbag Blush
How has everyone else spent their Friday?

SharonGless · 18/03/2011 21:38

Oooh nice and I like the "we" part. My DH has just gone out for the night. Although I can't complain having been away myself!

What did you get today for DD birthday?

Carrotsandcelery · 18/03/2011 21:49

We got her a grooming kit. We can't afford (by a long shot) the pony she would like but once she turns 10 she is allowed to help out at the stables so now she will have a grooming kit to groom them with while she is there. Grin It was a total trip down memory lane for me as, in a previous life, I spent a lot of time with ponies.
We also got her a dress which dh chose. I am a bit Hmm as it is quite grown up looking. Not in a sexy way but in a "not a really little girl anymore" way. I suspect she will love it and love him for choosing it for her so I left it alone.
I am such a big kid as I am ridiculously excited about her birthday and it is not for a couple of weeks yet. [immature emoticon]
I liked the "we" part of the routines too Sharon - he is a good man, but I reserve permission to vent when necessary Grin
I hope you don't suffer tomorrow from dh's night out. I never mind the evening out, it is the morning after that winds me up.

bessie26 · 18/03/2011 22:38

Ahhh, the horsey stuff for DD sounds fab carrots, and glad you had a nice day out! Grin
Hope you don't suffer from DHs night out Sharon! My DH always ends up tidying the garage when he's hung over, so at least some good comes of it!!

I've got no idea what zone we're in & haven't even looked at any missions this week but instead did what I felt needed to be done today. So this arvo I vacuumed downstairs, mopped the kitchen & utility floor, cleaned the cooker hob, scrubbed the loos & had an hours nap Grin. This evening I've given the kitchen sink a good clean (have now given up on DH doing it) & given the bathroom a quick wipe over. All laundry is done so i really must spend some time trying to sort the spare room out tomorrow.

Dosey · 19/03/2011 11:11

hi everybody, well as usual my week started well and now its all gone tits up pear shaped, I havent even got round to my home blessing, I am just managing to get through the daily routines!!!! Yesterday was all a bit of a panic we got a leak in the kitchen which was coming from the bathroom. Anyway we got that sorted thank goodness. I was in a state of panic thinking the ceiling was going to come down!!!! It never !!!! Having such a shock made me sit down, drink lots of tea and watch lots of day time tv!!!! My problems seemed minor after watching Jeremy Kyle!!!!Anyway today the sun is shining and we are off for a picnic in the woods, the weather is far too good to be doing housework, I will do my very best to do my home blessing tomorrow. As from Monday I will make a little more effort. Damn Jeremy Kyle and Loose women its all your fault my home is not blessed Wink

bessie26 · 21/03/2011 07:46

Morning everyone!

Well it's monday, which of course means it's [[http://www.flylady.net/pages/FLYFaq.asp#whbh h

bessie26 · 21/03/2011 07:49

Morning everyone!

Well it's monday, which of course means it's hone blessing day

For those who can be arsed have finished decluttering, here is Kelly's Mission and if you're really feeling up for it detailed cleaning - the main bedroom is the focus this week.

Carrotsandcelery · 21/03/2011 11:33

Thanks bessie I just came on to do the same. I have done most of my home blessing but needed a diet coke break to get me through the kitchen and have now realised I should have changed the sheets Hmm
I have done the mission, just by chance, as part of my home blessing. I just hoovered as there was nothing random under there. I have also done the majority of the detailed cleaning list for the master bedroom and have done the same in the spare bedroom. My halo must be dazzling today Grin
My kitchen is grim though, despite it being the room where most cleaning takes place. It just gathers in an instant in here. Wish me luck when I finally get my rear end off this sofa.

Carrotsandcelery · 21/03/2011 11:33

Oooh! Have you seen how many messages are in the thread? What happens when we get to 1000? Do we have to start a new thread?

bessie26 · 21/03/2011 12:32

Oooh, well spotted carrots! I've started us a new thread here (get me, acting like it's anti-procrastination Wednesday! Wink)
