Well done Alice :)

Well added to the bad mood of the day by going round the corner, with both boys, in the snow, without house keys. Realised when the woman asked for my Clubcard, on my keyring, no keyring, oh bollocks.

Anyway, between various neighbours we found a spare set. Must hide a set somewhere outside here in case all neighbours are out.

And DS2 was most unhappy even when we came back in, so not going to try outside with him again today. He's taken himself off to bed, DS1 is watching Ice Age (apt!) so i've come to bed too as i'm cold.

Alice I'm not dressed either, but seeing as I made a conscious decision this morning that I wouldn't I refuse to feel bad about it Grin DH is going to take DS out in a bit and I will have a nice long shower and then get dressed - maybe just into clean jammies and a jumper though!

JKS - what a nightmare. Thank goodness your neighbour had a key! Sounds like you are having a crap day, hope DH is home at a reasonable time and can look after you this evening.

Getting there. Slowly but surely. Actually most of the stuff that I needed to get done before the boys go to their dad's later is nearly finished. And as I'm doing stuff I'm getting other bits done along the way (if that makes sense??)

anonymousbird · 03/12/2010 14:07

Yey, Alice!!! JKS - Glad you got that sorted, locking out is a PITA, we have always had a hidden key at normal house, but since moving, I don't have one, so I do regularly panic about getting locked out!

DH home today, he just could not face another very tedious set of train journeys.... does mean we have made some progress with our kitchen plan AND he has finally met the guys pulling our house apart!! He is also much better at understand the ins and outs of what builders are doing, doesn't need everything explained in A-B-C language like I do, so he quite enjoys all that stuff.

Anyway, I have approx half an hour whilst he is out to catch up:

  • Up, showered and dressed me and DC?s DONE
  • DC to school DONE
  • General tidy, make beds etc DONE
  • Run DW and empty
FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/12/2010 14:16

Another grumpy one here!

And have realised I stupidly arranged my food delivery for between 2 and 4, completely forgetting about school run at 3.15 Hmm

Arse.

JKS god I hate locking myself out. Our neighbours now have keys, I have done it so many times. Once door slammed behind me, am in my pjs( we live on a main road.... I had to crawl into garden under the hedge -hawthorn. Imagine my big bum and slippers sticking out. and then break a window in the conservatory to get in.
Am now off for bath and beautify. Have strutted round in shoes for a bit of practice,Grinhow old am I??
Now all you who are getting christmassy, don't forget those all important twinkly lights in the kitchen as reccomended by HMHB and the soft pink underlighting on your shelving for improved cooking over the christmas period.
Off to find list on old thread.

JustKeepSparkling · 03/12/2010 14:43

Have twinkly lights in kitchen now Xmas Grin

minimammoth · 03/12/2010 14:46

Well done JKS. You are truely Nigellad. I was going to ask HMHB if we are to have a NIgella christmas, will we all wear have to wear wigs.

WastingAway · 03/12/2010 14:57

Hello!

DH got here this morning, we hung out for a bit, he had a nap and has taken DS out in the snow for a bit, so I'm having a moment.

Right! Best do a list. Xmas Grin

  • clean sink
  • wash pots
  • tidy and wipe sides down
  • check how long the dinner will take to cook

For now.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 03/12/2010 15:11

Wasting - I will join you in your moment, DH and DS have gone out sledging. DS' face was like this being hauled off down the road Xmas Grin

I have made a cuppa and put the radio on and put my feet up.

JustKeepSparkling · 03/12/2010 15:58

The kitchen may be Nigella'd but the hallways is truly chav. PIL bought us some flashing bells years ago, dunno why! Anyway DS1 loves them, so have hung them in the hallway where noone can see them instead of a tasteful picture Xmas Hmm Xmas Grin

Oh Chips.....
I have to save myself for christmas dinner later. I wish it were fish 'n chips. Drool dribble.

anonymousbird · 03/12/2010 17:25

mini - have a grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat time, knock em dead in those shiny shoes....

We are going to be a bit silly with our lights here this year. Normally just way too restrained, but this year? Why not!

Quiet weekend ahead, all rugby (DH, DS and DD) cancelled. DH incapacitated as it transpires the injury he did himself to his hand nearly 3 weeks ago is a really complex fracture (finally saw a surgeon this week). Reluctant to operate, but here starts a long phase of hand therapy to get it working again.... Xmas Confused

Why, oh why (I say yet again) did a 36 year old man think it was a good idea to take up rugby after nearly 20 years out of the game?????? Hey???? Xmas Angry

Ouch for your dh anon, sounds painful.

Feeling very alone this eve, think because was meant to be seeing friend this afternoon and they couldn't come. So had a disappointment there and am missing the company.

LOL going on here. Well what a DULL evening. There's me looking glam, having made loads of effort and it was the dreariest company I've been in in a looong time , I was losing the will during the soup. The venue was freezing cold so I had on strapless silk dress, shrug, cardi and 2pashmina scarf type things, all of which I kept on all evening. Only sneaky glances at lovely shoes lifted my spirits.
Dh working today so am on a mission to do more of my art prep.
Thinking of you Freaki.
Hopefully it will thaw today and normality may return. Have a god weekend everyone.
