Freak - hope today is cheerier for you.

JKS - still lots of snow? We are melting.. SLOWLY. Dense fog has descended though.

Seeing as we are one of the least affected areas of the country, both British Gas AND Tesco let me down yesterday.. Ocado made it though, so at least we have food, even if we have a sick boiler and no wine Sad.

Just means that I had to have a couple of snifters of my pre-Christmas bottle of sherry!

  • Up, showered and dressed

Morning!

Wallowing a bit this morning. We had a great day and lazy evening and DH was away again early doors, but we'll see him in a week.

Sorry to hear you were feeling down Freak, lonely evenings are rubbish. I think you are right that the comedown from the high of your anniversary made it much worse.
What you need is a lovely treat for yourself, bath bomb, candle, posh choc or yummy super salad from M and S, wrap up in a blanket and watch your favourite film. Smile

Plum, Narnia sounds very exciting. Grin

Anon, sounds a bit stressful, enjoy the sherry!

We're both getting worried about new neighbours now, previous lady was v quiet and we never heard a thing, and she never complained about our noise levels. New people have an 11month old so obv going to be noisier, hope it all works out...

FreakoidOrganisoid · 04/12/2010 12:38

Oh Mini what a shame the evening was dull and cold Sad Have to get your dh to take you out somewhere else to really enjoy the outfit.

My evening was ok in the end, had wine and rented myself a film from vision. Drinking red wine not the most sensible thing to do when you already have a headache though!

Now then, I have a moral question for you. Don't know if you remember when I went out and it all went wrong a few weeks ago? Well last night one of the blokes from that night (my friend's friend) was texting me and said he was going out tonight and if I was going out we should try to meet up. I said I wasn't going out as none of my friends were and he said why didn't I go out with him and his friends. He seemed like a nice person and we did get on last time but he isn't neccesarily someone I would choose to spend time with normally. But I do quite fancy going out and it might do me good. Sooooo how bad would it be to go out with them just to get out? I feel guilty like I'd be using them...

mumof2rugrats · 04/12/2010 12:42

false alarm rang nhs direct everything fine just Xmas Blush

minimammoth · 04/12/2010 12:58

Freaki. Do you feel safe with this person? he wouldn't have asked you if he did not enjoy your company. So I don't think you would be using them any more than them using you. You are a free woman, go and enjoy yourself, just don't get lumbered out of a sense of duty, guilt etc.
Hope that helps.
Might get DH to do Harry Potter this weekend.
Off to rummage for list

Am going to a candle party early eve so will see what time that finishes and how I feel...definitely don't want a big drunken night out!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/12/2010 16:38

Hello everyone :) We had a brilliant time, DS' face was just brilliant, he was sooo excited to see Thomas. And he talked to the Fat Controller which just about made his life I think Xmas Grin He was very shy of Father Christmas, but did manage to say thank you for his present Xmas Smile

Plum - I am Xmas Envy at Narnia!

Mini - at least you had the shoes to console you :)

Purple - hope you feel better soon

Wasting - so pleased that you got to see DH Xmas Smile

Freak - I think you should go, it sounds like fun :)

I would love a hot toddy, feeling a bit cold-ish and slightly sore of throat. Am going to settle for a cuppa and a mince pie.

Just a small list today

TO DO
Fold washing
Put towels on to wash
Put out clean towels etc
Dinner
DS bath and bed
Strictly
Clear up before bed
Check what time Christmas tree place is open tomorrow
Sleep - really need an early night but the cricket is a bit enthralling atm which isn't helping!

WastingAway · 04/12/2010 16:56

anonymousbird · 04/12/2010 19:09

Freak - sounds good, go for it. Enjoy if you do go and of course report back to us Slatterns!

Have had easy day. Watched Ashes, rugby and now on Ice Age (DD glued to it) whilst DH and DS sort out the Scalextric.

My wine arrived Xmas Smile but British Gas still did not Xmas Angry.

Beef Wellington this year instead of turkey. To pancake or not to pancake? I never have before but read about it recently - anyone got any experience?

Hope all well. Sorry not been able to read very well as scrolling on phone and easy to miss bits! Did gather that Ali's mob had fab time at Thomas. Plum was off out too - hope all a success.

Post properly tomorrow. xxx

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/12/2010 19:43

Anon I think you need to pancake, otherwise you end up with soggy pastry and the beef kind of steams rather than cooking as it should.

JustKeepSparkling · 04/12/2010 20:38

Lol Anon i have no idea what you're talking about! pancakes with beef wellington? Confused

Big relief, the lady from next door popped round with her LO (10mo) and she was nice had dropped off wine earlier and she said thanks, her DH was prob opening it right now, if he could find the corkscrew so sent her home with our spare one, am feeling all neighbourly :)

I actually got the light to turn on, then tested the switch and it went off again, grr. Am getting someone in to move it and put in a new switch next week.
