Not a particularly productive day! Got a few jobs done but absolutely no progress with christmas

Though long meeting with builder, so THAT was productive at least. DH driving me mad though - he is at work, so I am the day to day contact with the builder, so DH is "helpfully" giving me lists (does he not realise that we slatterns are list makers extraordinaire and that I have lists about lists, and don't need any more lists?!?!?!?!?) Grrr.

He also phones to "remind me" of what is on the list and have I spoken yet, etc etc. Grrr.

Anyway, onwards and upwards. I am off out tonight, as soon as DH gets home, and I AM NOT DRIVING!!!! And i am not doing the school run in the morning.

Hoorah.

A bit bleugh - nice night out last night with parents from school. Didn't drink all that much, but late to bed (11.30!) and I'm good for nothing.....

Today is Christmas Day IYSWIM.

• DC to school
• General tidy, make beds etc
• Run DW
• Check if dehumidifier working
• One wash load

Morning, Anon i have similar evening on Thurs, but i don't know the mums well yet at all so am quite nervous.
At least i won't be able to get stupidly drunk and make a t*t of myself, lol!

• clean kitchen cupboard doors
• set up Time Capsule with DH's laptop (delayed again! this weekend)
• pictures to label 'animals' & 'people' & 'cars' boxes
• pile of blankets to homeless centre (some basic shopping first & go through bedding/towels too; Started)
• DS2's new DLA forms; ask on MN, get HV to help, questions for friend with NT 3yr old, etc.

I need to get cracking on cake, but neeed to buy stuff, and Bank of Ireland is BROKE!!!
It says ATMS/banks will be giving out limited amount of money on a day when I need quite abit,
ds has a birthday party need money for present

need stuff from cake shop
and need general top up of groceries , It said CC transactions fine but dh said it took ages to go through yesterday in petrol station!

Wasting - thanks for the playdough recipe. Not going to try it today, can't face the possible mess but I will give it a go another day.
It is weird, I can cook, bake, and I'm a pretty good musician - but I do not have an artistic/crafty bone in my body. DS was doing some drawing earlier and said 'Mummy, draw Daddy Pig please'. Er... DH can draw, thank goodness!

Ali - i'm rubbish at drawing too, have practised certain things which pass muster with DS1, for now!

Right i've got lights all over the floor so best get them tidied away before DS2 gets home and eats them all!

It just says due to an IT fault,
so dh is going to get money out of CC, and I'm going to see how much I can get out of ATM, as long as they fix it soon,
Although telephone banking was able to tell me my balance so unless the banks can't get balance, as online banking just saying sorry we are broke basically, and thats why they are restricting withdrawal amounts at bank & ATM
It made the news last night, as long as it fixed for weekend we'll be alright, nothing is going to spoil visit to Narnia!

Hello - I'm thinking I might actually be able to keep up with this thread now with the new Threads I'm On feature... so going to jump back on and give it another go :)

It's quite late for today I suppose, but I just feel like I've done NOTHING. This is disappointing as I had a very productive evening working on my essay last night and actually finished it so I had the whole day free and have just sat around :( Starting to get down about it again, so I have decided to set myself a challenge, before DS goes to bed either the living room or kitchen will be presentable, and I'll have done one load of washing (especially since I seem to have run out of pants...)

That's it, those are my goals for today. :)

Anon. good luck with DH. My DH is a builder these days, and he spends a lot of time counselling/mediating between husband and wife clients he's a good psychologist.

The wren I think had taken the hint and gone, and I can now close doors, am now bl*y freazing. My cat is a bit dim, and was curled up right under wren who was very good at keeping still.
I have not been very good at sticking to list today, keep finding other stuff to do.

Merry - thanks for the advice! I will be doing my utmost to stick to my guns, even though the learning curve for me is so steep. It could be tempting to let DH deal with some things (inevitably there will be some, sometime) but I want to get my teeth stuck into it at this stage, so that I understand everything that comes after....

I have the British Gas man here.. fingers crossed for no more DH crawling up the loft ladder at 3am to switch the boiler back on... no fun for him, and it wakes everyone. Here's hoping!
