Wise words swan - I think we do all have routines which work for us, which we have adapted from FLY, but don't feel the need to post them. We are all Flying but don't realise it!

Afternoon all

I have read the thread all week but usually when I should have been lesson planning so not had time to post but reading this does make me feel part of something so helps.

OFM - Your weekend sounds mega busy but fun - good luck with shopping tomorrow, don't envy you.

wendy I got excited mid-week for a fly baby - hope you are resting.

There is a group of people in my local shopping centre who keep trying to get people to have their eyebrows threaded - but I am a wimp and also au naturel. Although when I went to have my colours done I was told that they needed attention Shock

Well I caught the school sickness bug in the week so more time off my teaching placement - I don't believe how ill I have been since September. Feeling better today and been to have my hair done - was a new hairdresser and she has pulled every hair as she has done it but it looks good so happy.

Now to spend the day catching up on the school work i've missed. Although have arranged grandparents for babysitting tonight for a night out somewhere.

OverflowingMum · 13/11/2010 16:32

Friend now despatched home and me totally exhaustedHmm
Am going out for drink with DH tonight as part of renewed commitment to doing things together...must fight urge to just put PJ's on and lie on sofa till bedtime LOL Hmm

swanriver · 13/11/2010 19:22

We had four assorted children visiting this afternoon
don't think I could face going out afterwards OFM - think we are just going to watch Merlin hopefully there will be Romance Smilein Merlin I mean. Well done for staying focused on exercise and getting AWAY.

House was looking quite tidy and organised, but now needs complete rescue. Ds2 is doing a lot of walking around on crutches, so much better than last op, thank goodness.

Ooh it's started, already very romantic! Drat it's Morgana's dream not Gwen's Hmm

Nuttybear · 13/11/2010 21:29

Evening all Went out in my new outfit and best friend didn't mention it at all! Shock and and and (see I'm annoyed now!) She went to lunch with friends up town on Friday . I said I don't have time for that due to housework and and and instead of saying ?I'm so lucky to be a SAHM, it must be hard to be part-time.? SHE said ?I just don?t do it? (which is a lie, because her house is always clean and tidy) That is the thing only thing that bugs me with my SAHM they think I?m making a fuss!!!! But my DH works late, has had 4 hip ops Which they all know & works at the weekend (which their DH don?t !!!!!) If I went out who else is going to do it! I must say I don?t know if it was Swan or Scatty that said have tons of pants for kids so you never run out Best Fly Tip in the world for me.
Rant over
MC I hope your friends understand that teaching is not an easy job and you all finish at 3.30pm and the world is your oyster.
OFM & Swan Wished my old neighbours (who are still our friends)lived nextdoor. Ds is still very close friends with their boys but it does take a phone call now.
never did sink my sink because once the sink was shined I would start to cook! Do you think that's where I'm going wrong Hmm We are also big fan's of Merlin too in this house. Watch it on a Friday with Fish and chips after swimming Smile
Wendy Any new yet?
OFM re gym Envy Must must stop the housework fetish and go to the gym!
Have a good saturday night everyone

Nuttybear · 13/11/2010 21:31

HAVE YOU NOTICED i'VE HAD A COUPLE OF GLASSES OF WINE! [BLUSH]

Nuttybear · 13/11/2010 21:31
Blush
Ludaloo · 13/11/2010 21:54

Hello! Smile Smile

I haven't flown for quite some time Blush Happily I recognise some familiar names though [waves frantically to all those who might remember me!]

How is everyone??? I will have to have a read through and catch up a bit.

We are all ok in the Ludaloo household. Kids all growing up waaay too quickly! Eldest Dd is now 9, Ds is 7 and youngest Dd is 5.

I'm working full time now...5 days a week (although just come off the back of a 6 day week!) I'm working for Forestry Commission....I absolutely LOVE it Smile
Great to get out and about!

Dh and I have been going through a bit of a rough patch...but I think we have sorted things out now...[fingers crossed] it is difficult having a job/kids/house (which I have to say is suffering Sad) We'll get there though...

Well lovely to see you all...hopefully I can pop back more often...I desperately need to manage my FLY time once again!

xxxxxx

swanriver · 13/11/2010 21:59

nutty I NEVER have lunch out on Friday or any other day, and I AM a SAHM. Dh always asks me why I don't go to the West End and see EXHIBITIONS, or even dare I say ECLIPSE (Blush as I have so much TIME, but I never can because of HOUSEWORK...and CHILDREN...and DH....NO HELPFUL RELATIVES...
What your friend is really saying is, jump in and do it [fun], and catch up later..have low expectations for a week once a quarter, and the world won't end. I must take her advice, as I really do have time. It is difficult when you feel under pressure.
I will give you fair warning if I next intend to go to Richmond or Kew,and we could meet half way for a coffee. Perhaps end of Nov when ds has gone back to school again?

swanriver · 13/11/2010 22:03

oh Ludaloo I think we only crossed over briefly, sorry you caught me and Nutty drunkenly shouting at each other Blush

Hopefully someone more familiar will be along tomorrow like Scatty and R aka TPF and Dylsmum

swanriver · 13/11/2010 22:06

Nutty that is exceedingly annoying of friend not to mention outfit, some people are not very focused on these matters. No-one ever says I look nice unless I wear something ironed, I think then they mention it out of shock! Dh says I look nice all the time - so I suppose it's just the locals Hmm

swanriver · 14/11/2010 16:36

very quiet on here,
I have done some more Christmas flysteps...
and some laundry
house v. messy though

OverflowingMum · 14/11/2010 19:43

evening all

nutty gosh you were ranting LOL!Sounds justified to be annoyed at friend...I also NEVER have lunch out (although did eatmy sandwhiches whilst driving from work to meeting at dd school the other day if that counts LOL) and it is hard to fit everyhting in... but do agree sometimes it is worth saying never mind the housework, I'm going to do something for me...whether thats hairdressers, gym or lunch with friends etc...The trouble is getting the right balance I think....

swan Christmas FLY is most impressive...

luda Hi

well, have survived the weekend! Managed to brave hellish shopping centre today and have bought DS1 appropriate clothing for his Confirmation next wk/end...Grin
then have done some washing catch up and minimal housework
took kids swimming this afternoon, after not managing last wk/end , so I'm pleased I prioritised that Grin

Have wrapped DD1 bday pressies for tomorrow...now just need dh to build her bikeHmm

Then once dd bday out of the way I can start to concentrate on Christmas...sigh...

OK...have a few bits to do....so see you all tomorrow Grin

wendyhappysmile · 14/11/2010 21:33

nutty LOL at your rant, but it was totally justified!

hi everyone and luda welcome back!

No news yet, am totally fed up. I was up for four hours last night with stupid practice contractions, really strong and stayed regular, was sure it was going to progress but then annoyingly after telling DH at 7 am it might be time to go they disappeared! So then I was shattered all day. And I was so fed up as I was all geared up for it! So i've been fed up all day.

DC very grumpy today. Took DS to a party and he was very uncooperative. Told me he wished Daddy had brought him and tonight when we were saying good night to him, when I said 'love you' as usual he turned to DH and said 'love you Daddy'. Honestly, how do they get so maniupulative? It's a reaction to my being pregnant, as I am doing less and less for the children and DH is doing more and more. Still hurtful though.

right hopefully see you tomorrow

OP posts:
swanriver · 14/11/2010 23:06

Wendy I think it's just a sort of embarrassment, they can't say how they strongly they feel so they say something else [annoying]
At least he didn't say "hate you Mummy" which is sometimes what dd does in her finest moments Hmm

Fingers crossed baby will come tonight, although maybe you need a night to catch up.

Well house a tip,
given up attempting to rescue, will leave it ALL till tomorrow as I am a SAHM Wink

disputed with dh over ds's xmas present
continued sackloads of laundry
took out the rubbish
piano practice (me)
and bought my winter coat at last (living out of an anorak for too long)
read to dd JW which we are loving
found out 4 facts about the CELTS for dd
went to church at 6pm with ds2, then went to Macdonalds as a bribe..

hey ho --

Jas · 15/11/2010 11:12

HelloSmile
Are we still doing a weekly thread, or should it be monthlyShock

I think it may have been a month since I was here last. Sorry. DP has been out of work again, and I don't get online when he is home, plus we've been quite busy replacing the kitchen ceiling....

All back to normal now though, and I need to FLY.

Wendy I've scanned and it looks like no baby yet.....I remember how frustrating those last few days/weeks of waiting can be. I hope you get to cuddle your baby soon.

Ludaloo - Frantic waving here!!! Hello Grin

Everyone else. Sorry I'm not keeping up. Must try harder.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 15/11/2010 11:44

Morning all,
Had a hard time the last few months battling with the whole sanity/insantiy thing but now I am trying to get back on the wagon. can I come back.

This morning I have finished making curtains for the dining room just need to take them tomorrow to have big chrome holes punched in the top.

No boiler working at the moment but the gas man is here so hopefully we will have hot water and heating before the boys come home from school.

Have to put away clean washing and make sausage cassarole.

Those are my 2 targets for today, I know if I pile more on I won't get it done so starting small.

Wendy fab news that you are havinga baby, do you know what make it is or is it going to be a suprise?

ludaloo & Jas pleasantly pleased to know I am not the only slacker who hasn't been around!

big waves to swan nutty makingchanges and ofm

funtimewincies · 15/11/2010 13:02

Morning, blimey but you're all busy Shock!

I was pretty good at keeping the place tidy over the weekend, so I've been to the supermarket this morning. I'll put some washing on and and try and get the upstairs hoovering done the afternoon but I'm absolutely knackered today and just can't be bothered.

swanriver · 15/11/2010 14:05

yest was The Celts
and this afternoon it's been David Livingstone Hmm

hello Greyskull
hello Jas
hello fun

still battling with house here, but glad I got a bit of schoolwork done with ds, AND that I cooked so much food last week to reheat.

swanriver · 15/11/2010 15:55

floor mopped
children picked up
have issued 4pm homework ultimatum!

MNTotoro · 15/11/2010 16:08

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 15/11/2010 17:00

evening all,
succeeded on the sausage cassarole front Smile
Boiler is fixed and we have hot water and heating Smile
Need to spend some time putting clean washing upstairs
Had DS2's friend here for the afternoon so his Mum could go to work and then had her here for the rest of the afternoon so have been forced to sit on my arse and have adult conversation Grin It has been hard but someone had to do it Wink

Anyway Hi to MNTotoro funtimewincies and swan
Hope everyone has had a good day.

evening all

prof reading at cathedral sounds good Grin

swan sounds like you're getting lots doen with ds...house will wait!

wendy hope you're OK....maybe busy birthing?!

greyskull good to see you back

well had an up and down sort of day Hmm

work not bad. had time to nip to shops after work before collecting DS and bought a dress for me for next wk/end Grin

DS2 in very grumpy mood though after nursery and all DC just sort of irritating/over tired...too much Bday excitement at wk/end I think...
Did manage a 4 mile run, and felt much better for it, but came back to find Asda shopping had been delivered early and was all dumped in the middle of the kitchen floorHmmAngry and also that they have sent me a box of crackers I DEFINITELY didn't order and charged me £7 for them, and now reckon I ordered themConfused so wont refund...I have all my Christmas crackers already, and didnt even look at Christmas stuff when I placed my order so is most strangeHmm and has put me in a (possibly unreasonably) very grumpy mood....
Also washing is once again taking over the house...and I am feeling more than a little out of control....

BUT am now going to chill for 1/2 hour, then attempt to restore some sort of order to my life Grin

BBtomorrow
