MNTotoro · 11/11/2010 22:24

Gosh, I've been away too long.

Prof - what is wrong with DD? Throwing money at a problem can sometimes help :)

Can I have some sympathy? Have to have a chlamydia test tomorrow as prep for mirena. Eek.

my cleaner came today so house is tidy Grin

wendyhappysmile · 11/11/2010 22:43

Morning all
no twinges in the night Smile so a good night's sleep - I'm counting on sleep before the baby is born.

Inset here today, it's wild here, so not venturing far. Might take DS for hair cut locally but that's all, might off load kids this afternoon if I am tired, if anyone is around to take them!

Morning all Lots to do so little time.
Prof Be thankful that you can use your resources to fix the problem. I got my bestfriend to talk to my DH to go to a private Doc for his hip operation after Northwick Park Hosp did a botch job. Best thing to have two people nag him. he went to the Doc who also did Nationa Health. As going private was against DH's principles Hmm Doc after doing the necessary checks put DH on the NHS waiting list. It did take longer than private but he was now on the road to getting it fix. 4 operations later DH is still a PE Teacher GrinWhat is a point of having nice stuff if your in constant pain Confused or distress.
Wendy Hope you find someone
Scatty & OFM No, make-over will be done on the night they just picked the clothes and I had to have a chat with the hairdressers. (I love living here!)
I will be wearing this dress M&S
these shoes more purple in real life
A wide grey belt and a grey long cardigan from another shop.
Swan Sorry I missed the rest of the thread. Why so many tables? Are they side tables?

swanriver · 12/11/2010 11:00

Well today I am seething with frustration after wasting about 2 hours on the phone to My3 getting a site unblocked (Mumsnet Grin
Ds1 did something to my laptop yesterday, we still don't know what. Everything else worked just not Mumsnet!!!!!!

Anyway now it is working, so I can tell you all what a badtempered morning I have had HmmConfused

yest was productive otherwise, cooked 4 main dishes to get ahead, 2 cakes including Xmas cake with twins and one for cake sale today (no-one will buy it of course Sad Dd told me as much...
Dh and I are getting on extremely badly Sad He says I'm badtempered, and I say ^he* is Confused
Ds is fine though, moving around a bit and we did some educational stuff yesterday Grin

MMT sympathy for any woes
Wendy the wind is whirlingdown our chimneys!
Scatty I'm resolved to cheer myself up and outwit dh (who is determined to buy cases and cases of wine????)by buying
A tv cabinet
A hi-fi cabinet
a chest freezer
a sewing machine
and 2 new bedside tables Angry His theory is that if they match it looks like a hotel...

swanriver · 12/11/2010 11:07

Nutty your dh must have been very brave to get through so many operations, you must be proud of him. I love your mink/purple dress!

Fun the worst was the insatiable climbing.

funtimewincies · 12/11/2010 11:23

Climbing Shock! Ds1 didn't do that either

It's ds2's morning with Grandma and Ds1 is at nursery so I've been productive.

Lounge blitz done
Stairs done
Downstairs loo done
Toys sorted done
Dishwasher loaded done

Right, better go and collect ds1.

loosinas · 12/11/2010 11:43

hey all... im in desperate need of some help and motivation in this area as my messy house is really starting to get me down :( where do i start ?? xx

swanriver · 12/11/2010 11:49

Loosinas - Fledgling Flyers are slogging it out with babysteps etc, discussing routines, I'm on there too, do join us! We post links every day on Fledglings. We are meant to be Flying here too, but somehow it is a bit more relaxed here..Blush and no-one mentions sinks much...

Nuttybear · 12/11/2010 11:59

Loosinas We chat and make lists on this thread. The only thing I would say is look at the flylady site Routines and get a stop watch it works (sometimes) for me. Not right now of course because my house is a tip and I'm on this machine Blush
Jump in when you feel like it and join in we are a friendly bunch.
Smile

Nuttybear · 12/11/2010 12:00

Swan He is as tough as old boots that one.
I'll see if I can get a photo on the night and post it. Maybe a before and after thingy. Smile MUST do some work!

swanriver · 12/11/2010 12:13

idle cats draped everywhere Hmm

funtimewincies · 12/11/2010 12:16

Hi and welcome Loosinas, I joined a few weeks back and already I can see a difference Grin. I don't really follow any of the routines, as they never seem to fit with what needs doing in my house but it's made me use my time better and having a bit of moral support is fab.

OverflowingMum · 12/11/2010 13:59

afternoon all

swan grr at lengthy phonecall, those sort of calls and internet woes always leave me in a foul mood. Hope things pick up with you and dh...it can be hard sometimes not take things out on each other when life is overwhelming ....
Hope retial therapy helpsWink

loosinas welcome!

nutty oh,I had misunderstood about makeover..sounds fab though, dress and shoes fab, bet you'll look stunning, what fun!
Have you had your eyebrows threaded before? I'm considering this...does it hurt as much as getting them waxed?[pathetic wimp emoticon!]

funtime my ds2 is a demon climber too.... as was dd4, the first 4 weren't too bad though Hmm

wendy glad you're still with us!

have had hectic morning...don't seem to have stopped!
DS2 inannoying lively mood! I bought him new "Thomas" pants at the shops, and Thomas vests, and when we got in he insisted on wearing his new vest and then he put on ALL 5 pairs of new pants and ran round house in 5 pairs of pants, his vest and his Thomas wellies all morning Hmm

Done:
kids up etc...
S&S bathroom
laundry reboot
reading with dd3 and 4 (forgot last night, tut tut!)
school run
popped to asda with ds2 on way home...seem to have bought a new coat which was more than I had planned ooops!(tis nice though!)
home
snack for ds2
tidy girls room (that they had apparently already tidied Confused)
dusted gilrs room
stripped beds in girls room and remade
hoovered girls room
good clean upstairs bathroom
hoovered landing
made bottom 2 tiers dd1 bday cake
retrieved various christmas boxes from loft and located cellophane bags
ds2 lunch
ds2 nap (thank flip!)
me lunch
Put dd3 forms into envelope, addressed and stamped, not just need to POST!
made up 15 party bags with rescued cellophane bags - they look quite good considering there's not much in them!
Now having 15 mins break

To Do:
make chocolate fudge icing and assemble and decortae dd bday cake
sweep dining room
reboot laundry
quick tidy out of car
collect dc from school + dd1 friend for sleepover
entertain all and stop littlies annoying dd and her friend all evening
maybe a run later
or maybe just collapse on sofa with bottle of wine Wink

BBLGrin

OverflowingMum · 12/11/2010 14:02

oh and more positively I have lost 3 lbs this week Grin makes up for no loss in the last 2 weeks I suppose!

swanriver · 12/11/2010 14:25

well I thought I'd said this, but it has vanished, so I'll say it again. My computeris being v v infantile today.

LOL SuperThomasMan!

Nuttybear · 12/11/2010 14:31

Wow! OFM 3 lbs fab and you've got much done! Threading does hurt a little but it is over so quickly defo not as bad as waxing £6.00 around here.
Boilerman held up my day and my faffing around doesn't help!
Posters to local shops re school eventdone
eyebrows to be threaded done
Bathroom done
Bedrooms well beds made Hmm
More laundry done
Boiler man done

MNTotoro · 12/11/2010 14:36

threading hurts like hell bit it doesnt take that long.

OverflowingMum · 12/11/2010 19:57

evening all

hmm may consider threading when feeling brave...can cope if it's over quickly!

and yes SuperThomasMan was quite funny LOL

right well in midst of chaos here...DD1 Best Friend here for sleepover, hence dd3 thrown out of her bed and having "sleepover" on camp bed in littlies room, hence lots of shouting still going on upstairs even though littlies meant to be in bed....
Bday cake finished, but slightly lobsided due to DS2 grabbing a chunk of sponge from the side whilst it was on the kitchen table waiting to be iced Angry
am feeling totally exhausted ....and have to take 12 girls out for meal tomorrowShock

am also going to pilates first thing tomorrow...that may have been a bad move!
and me and DH going out for drink tomorrow evening...think that was arranged in moment of madness!Hmm
Also need to wrap DD's bday pressies and buy her a cycly helmet ( getting a new bike...so at least only a few bits to wrap!)
Then have realised that on Sunday I need to take DS1 to buy suitable smart outfit for his Confirmation next Sat , and that will most likely involve trip to horrendous packed pre-Christmas shopping centre Shock

Roll on Monday so I can go to work for a rest!!

swanriver · 12/11/2010 21:46

OFM it sounds great fun! Dd3 must enjoy being leader of littlies dormitory again!

Neighbours' little girls have suddenly made friends with dd - tis heaven as no pre-organisation necessary, they just turn up and either play here or Remove her.
They were playing a game called Posh Person today [?)

OverflowingMum · 12/11/2010 22:11

right...all finally settled....DD's friend has anounced that she loves coming here, and loves the business of our family (she's an only child) and that her Mum thinks we're alovely family, and then she said that she "feels very at home here because my house is untidy too"!!!!
Not sure how to take that LOL If she thinks it's untidy she now she should have seen it before I spent the day tidying LOL Still, nice she feels at home, and it is a home not a show house!

Off to bed...BBtomorrow at some point Grin

wendyhappysmile · 13/11/2010 07:42

all Morning
Nutty eyebrow threading, never heard of it but then mine are au naturel! LOL I don't touch them and they are not tamed, just never got into it.
swan and ofm hurrah for neighbours and friends - I think that's a real compliment to both of you
nutty lovely outfit! I am salivating, went out last night and worse same black trousers as always and my ONE maternity going out top LOL
loosinas hi

Whenever someone new wants to join it makes me think, do us lot really qualify as Flyladies anymore?! Or are our Fly routines deeply embedded in our lives that we don't notice?! LOL

OP posts:
swanriver · 13/11/2010 11:16

I do miss TheMadhouse. I think with nostalgia of the days when we used to all discuss washing the breakfast pots and yet so much much more...

But I think we all move on, and the more engrained the habits the more odd it seems to mention that you have shone your sink Grin The minutae can be overwhelming, fascinating when you are that stage Hmm but somehow you have to move on.

I think I learn such a lot from what you do and DO NOT do (except I can't be sure what you all really don't do...)

I think you need a lot of people all flying at once for it to work as a Flylady thread, and checking in very regularily. Perhaps we are all "creatives" and don't operate like that LOL>
