I am obviously just not used to boys! Thanks for you all your support, you have all made me feel a lot better.

Been brighter today, made DD's birthday cake, need to ice it hopefully before the baby is born in time for the party! My parents took DD to dancing after school which made a big difference, no rushing around driving across busy town etc etc. Felt guilty as they wanted to come in and chat and sit down and have cuppa but told them it was children's tea time (5.30 what took them so long to get home, i'm always home by 5.05 at the latest!!) and they left - they only live up the road and could visit any time but never do unless invited ...

Right onwards and upwards

OP posts:
swanriver · 17/11/2010 18:31

swanriver · 17/11/2010 18:32

Arguing? TPF

SatinShoes · 17/11/2010 18:45

Yes, yes testosterone surge for boys at aroung 6-7.

House a tip. Just picked DH up from work. They are now playing Guess Who. I do like that game :)

wendyhappysmile · 17/11/2010 19:59

Me too - does your person's head look like an egg being the question which made me laugh from DS (Bill, I think - I have the original version from when I was little! Is it all PC now in the new version?!)

Well I will sign up for membership of the lively boy brigade.
Have been kicked punched and slapped this evening by DS1 all because I gave him a 10 minute warning for bath time. Angry So we managed to get to bed in a calm manner and a lovely story but it was a horrid 10 minuted of rage.

Anyway.not achieved much in the house today but got some stuff done for DH's surprise birthday party in a couple of weeks time, and played the dutiful daughter taking mum out for lunch for her birthday.
Tomorrow am out in the morning but have the afternoon to bake cakes for Saturday.

Sorry to not do one to ones back tomorrow Smile

evening all

Gosh , I have to say it is in some way comforting to hear there are so many of us with such "lively" boys!!

swan yes, I think added to the fact that DS2 is,well, a 2 yr old boy, there is also the fact he is youngest in a busy house of 6 siblings...sigh...
Sounds like you've been productive today, well done

wendy yay for helpful PIL, but boo for badly timed attempts to visit for tea!

everyone-else Hi

Full day at work today...which still most bizarrly in many ways feels much easier than my shorter days Hmm mostly as DH collects DC from nursery/afterschool club, and they have all had tea...so I just come home, and snuggle with them for an hour or so before littlies bed....

Have been to the gym, then swimming this evening...really enjoyed it Grin

Now trying to do a bit of battle with washing mountain...

Am hoping to nip to shops for 1/2 hour at some point tomorrow as still need to get dds shoes for Sat....
Am trying not to think about the fact that MIL is arriving on Friday, and house is a tip etc....

right, ogg to chill for a bit, then bed...

BBtomorrowGrin

swanriver · 17/11/2010 21:48

Wendy yes children's tea is not a good time for PIL to have a cosy chat, requires concentration! Unless they want to serve it!
TPT statistics again, who knows what they signify.
Greyskull bedtime can be hell Sad well done for calming him down

We've finished Hetty Feather (JW)SadIt was verygood. I recommend it to all girls 8-12!

OFM glad your day went well.

SatinShoes · 17/11/2010 21:57

greyskull :(

yes, we have the old version of guess who :)

I am looking for cheap white chest of drawers for dds bedroom. and failing. Is this nice or naff? They have a blanket box in white wicker which contains all teddies at the moment.

Jas · 17/11/2010 22:10

Evening Smile

swan I have a JW fan here. DD1 is 11 and has finally started reading things NOT by JW after about 18 months of her!

greyskull - Not nicw being kickedSad

My lively boy got hold of he kitchen scissors this evening. He has cut up lots of the clothes from dd2s polly pocket dolls, and there is a huge cut across his quilt cover Angry

I spent the evening in the kitchen chopping fruit for Christmas chutney. I will be making it tomorrow - everyone will be getting it from me this yearGrin

I may have finally persuaded dp that sorting out the loft is not something he can put off any more. DD2 needs her own room. Sharing with ds soesn't work any more, and at 10 she is starting to need her privacy.

ByThePowerOfGreyskull · 17/11/2010 22:28

jas that sounds like a big project in the planning. are you going to end up with stuff all over the house for months? Angry about scissors

We have just bought Guess Who for DS1 for Christmas do you think it will work for a 4 and 6 year old to play together?

OFM sounds like a good day!
satinshoes is the chest for toys or clothes?
we have this on its side for toy storage with blue boxes in and red drawers.

TPT hope you have a better day at work tomorrow.

night all.

Jas · 18/11/2010 06:19

Satin I like it but would have to try it out....how easly are wicker drawers to open and shut? I think my son would break them. I like greyskulls as it is practical and durable.

greyskull = As always he is promising no mess Hmm and little disruption. I always fread having him working at home. It takes three times as long/never gets finished, and it extremely stressful.
It desperately needs doing though, so I'll wait and see if he does anything about getting stairs made up....

I am going to be home all day again today. Back after the school run.

Your going to need more than 24hrs for that day prof!!

Today
laundry
cheercats

Does anyone do cross stich? I have emabarked on a kit but have got in a bit of a muddle Hmm.

SatinShoes · 18/11/2010 08:02

It's for clothes. DDs are pretty good at not trashing things (sorry, Jas Wink)

Prof - you love it!

I have done cross stitch before. Suggest you try and unpick where it is a mess before you keep going and make it worse.

wendyhappysmile · 18/11/2010 09:16

prof think you'd better not work that day!!!

Hi all
I'm shattered and running behind this morning - didn't wake up!! Blamed DH - poor man. He is always in charge of getting me up, it takes me an hour from first wake up to getting out of bed, I am really awful.

To do list

What's for tea? I'm not planning ahead atm, it's day to day!
Washing - prob going in the drier
tidy up
vacuum if i have energy
nap probably!
what to do this afternoon with dd?

BBL

OP posts:
