They use a LOT of electricity compared to normal
lighting plus as pp have said need to be ok for a while before they start doing their thing so I’d be worried about bills

Ah these are actually the same ones I believe! In one of the pictures, you can see the mathmos logo.

For everyone asking, I do actually already own a Mathmos lava lamp. Excellent quality and doesn’t get too hot. I can always touch it even if it’s been on for a good few hours.

Despite sniggering about it's brothel/dungeon connotations I rather like it & would think it rather quirky if I saw it in another house. It's your taste and go for it if you like it. Btw I've got a blue/green Mathmos lava lamp.

I would think that I had stumbled into the set of the amazing movie Earth Girls are Easy and therefore would be in heaven. I love it! Shows someone has personality in their interior design taste!

I'm sorry but I would think it is awful. A cross between student digs, a brothel and an aquarium! Is it even safe. They also take a long time to get going.
Having said all that, an Englishman's home is his castle is it not, and you should do what pleases you!

I like it, but I wouldn't do it.

Mainly because I have a Mathmos from nearly 30 years ago so looked on the site and HOW MUCH?!?!?!? I'm way too tight lol! Also it's takes a couple of hours for them to actually 'lava' which would annoy me.

But I'm planning a bit of an 80s Miami Beach style theme for my bedroom so there is that Grin
