Oh fgs, there are tonnes of threads like this on here. It's a ridiculously furnished house - no idea whether it's owned by travellers or not, and tbh that's irrelevant. But it's pretty overwhelming to look at, whether it's to your taste or not.

You are obviously easily overwhelmed OP. In more ways than one : )

ToMissAdventure · 14/02/2024 11:30

OP, you can’t justify bullying by saying others do it so it’s fine and hide behind the anonymity of MN. You also fail to explain what you were hoping to achieve with your post which is, to be candid, snobbish through and through. Using the word ridiculous about someone’s furnishings is just plain rude and suggests your purpose was to mock. This is supposed to be a forum to share decor tips, answer decor related questions not humiliate.

Jckf · 14/02/2024 11:35

This feels like bullying. I really hope the owner doesn’t see this as I am sure they have feelings.

SausageAndEggSandwich · 14/02/2024 11:36

I wouldn't live there but it is obviously a really loved house, spotlessly clean and styled to perfection. I bet the owners are great hosts and have fun parties in that garden. Whoever said Barbie dream house - yes!

SecondUsername4me · 14/02/2024 11:39

It's difficult to see what the rooms are actually like as they are over filled.

Decor ain't my taste, but I'm not buying that.

Mairzydotes · 14/02/2024 11:45

The people who live there have decorated according to their taste. They will take their belongings with them and the house will be much more of a blank canvas.

I will say the dining table is in a funny place. I find it unnecessary since there is a table in the kitchen.

FuckinghellthatsUnbelievable · 14/02/2024 11:52

Actually it seems like a bargain for a three (all decent sizes ) bedrooms. A bit of paint and I may have got this wrong but is there a shower?

greglet · 14/02/2024 11:53

@ToMissAdventure I thought it was funny because it's so over the top. I thought other people might also find it funny. Peace out.

Except the owner.

New2024 · 14/02/2024 11:55

Being down south the most surprising thing is the price. I don’t think you could get a garden shed round here for that.

greglet · 14/02/2024 11:55

@LemmysBullet well they're obviously proud of it, so that's what matters. Unlikely they'll stumble across this thread anyway. And I haven't actually said anything offensive about it - it's OTT, which is not inherently a criticism.

Everyone understands your motives perfectly. The majority just think it's shitty to publicly laugh at someone's home and invite others to do the same.

I assume by “the south” you mean London. Plenty of reasonably priced houses across the South West.

Itneverrainsinsocal · 14/02/2024 12:20

would much rather have a cup of tea in this spotless house than the dusty / pets everywhere / clutter / 'bohemian' houses that people seem to love on here 😁

"ridiculously furnished" is hardly a compliment.

I thought the same!
I'd love to be friends with the owners.
Spotless and hygienic 👌🏽

Not London and not commuter belt proper. There’s a house for sale here in my road - 3 bed Victorian end terrace 700k and we are not even Home Counties

greglet · 14/02/2024 08:14

Does anyone else have a really clear mental picture of the woman who owns it, and her poor husband in his Everton shirt who really wants to buy a black leather recliner to watch TV in, but isn't allowed?

🤣🤣🤣

Yes.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 14/02/2024 12:29

Not to my taste, but once the furniture's out and the rooms have a paint job, it's perfectly livable.

The garden is really sad though.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/02/2024 12:30

Wow! Good on her (assuming it’s a Her) - she has her own style and is unashamedly going with it. I prefer it to a sea of grey blandness, although I admit it’s not my taste and I couldn’t live with it myself. I assume the furniture etc will be moving with her, and the house etc itself is perfectly nice.

howdidillydoodily · 14/02/2024 12:33

@LemmysBullet agree! It's absolutely fine, it's just their taste! I posted a photo and got accused of being too grey, boring, chavvy, council estate like.
It looks clean and well looked after.. so what about what their taste is! The owner might be on here and see this. Low level bullying tbh.

Oh come on! You called it ridiculous. You called it overwhelming. You made jokes about a controlling wife and ‘hen pecked’ husband.

At least own your actions!

kittybiscuits · 14/02/2024 12:37

Lovely. I think it needs a few more cushions though.

butterandmilk · 14/02/2024 12:39

WhereIsMyLight · 14/02/2024 09:33

The house is absolutely fine. It’s been renovated and looks well maintained. The rooms are a good size. It’s got good off-road parking and a decent sized, low maintenance garden. It’s not to your taste in decoration, so what? The furniture will obviously leave with the current owner and most people decorate a house to their own taste when they move in. It really highlights your lack of imagination OP, if you can’t actually recognise it’s a great house and could be customised really easily to suit the new owner’s tastes. The only downside would be for someone who wants a garden with a lawn and plants as it may be time and cost intensive to put that in, which people might not want to commit to.

this.
