Where are you going for your holiday this year? Looking for inspiration long or short haul ! Be interesting to see where everyone is going.

I'm going to Stockholm then on a night train to northern Norway, then a bit of a road trip ending with a marathon in Tromso.

Also planning lux hot holiday over Christmas next year but undecided on where yet

MiniCoopers · 04/01/2026 09:00

We have the Maldives for Easter, unsure about summer at the moment and also a short break in Corfu for September.

Hollyleaves · 04/01/2026 09:04

We have booked Malta for February. Away from kids on our own.

countrygirl99 · 04/01/2026 09:05

Lakeside cabin in Finland in June.
Walking holiday in the Yorkshire Dales in September.
Ecuador in November.

DuffCooper · 04/01/2026 09:09

I'm visiting a different UK city by train for a few days every month.

Georgiepud · 04/01/2026 09:12

Unsure at the moment.
Tossing up between Turkey, Croatia and France. Everyone in the family has different ideas on the matter.

Theredjellybean · 04/01/2026 09:19

reluctantbrit · 04/01/2026 09:47

DH and I will be in Cyprus in April and as a family we are going to Florence and Lake Garda end of August/beginning of September

DuffCooper · 04/01/2026 09:52

@Theredjellybean So far I've booked Norwich, Chester, Cambridge, Durham and Lincoln. After a lifetime of travelling abroad I'm gripped by the idea of exploring my own country and learning more about the history.

crumpetandcoffee · 04/01/2026 10:29

A few days in Prague in February with just DH. 10 nights AI in Turkey in early July. We will be desperate for some guaranteed sun by then.

Travelfairy · 04/01/2026 11:07

Majorca May
Deciding for June/July possibly Holland/Portugal
Possibly Italy in Sept

3 weeks in Alaska booked in May and super excited, split between Vancouver, cruise and roadtrip!

Considering a cheap week in the Canaries in March and New York in November for the marathon!

MadamCholetsbonnet · 04/01/2026 13:35

A few different holidays with friends and family, including Morocco and Austria.

A week in Croatia on my own - can’t wait!!

NotDarkGothicMama · 04/01/2026 13:54

A week on the beach in Crete in June, then an activity week in Slovenia in August.

I’m looking at Cyprus in April too , can you recommend where?

Ohjoyohbliss · 04/01/2026 14:09

The original intentions were:
Canaries or similar in February
Turkey archaeological tour in April
USA in June
Arctic cruise in August
Bhutan in October
Somewhere warm in early December

Most of those had to be put on hold due to cancer treatment. Hopefully I'll still be able to do one or two, if I can get insurance.

magpie234 · 04/01/2026 14:12

Cotswolds for a cosy few days later in Jan
Cornwall for hopefully our first holiday with our new baby in July
Spain with baby and also my mum in September

Hoping to get the hang of travelling with children and make it happen as we love a good change of scene!

zurigo · 04/01/2026 14:20

Just got back from Canaries for new year. DS1 was restless and wished he was at home with his gf that I think that will be our last new year's holiday with him. DH and I are going to Malta together without the kids at the end of Feb (DS2 will be on a school trip), and in the summer we're going to the US to visit family and then have a beach holiday to celebrate the end of A levels for DS1. This may also be our last summer holiday with him, but we'll see. Edited to say: I'm hopefully going a weekend in Puglia with a friend at some point too!

YouBelongWithMe · 04/01/2026 14:21

I'm taking my teen girls to Disney in Feb with a friend and her teen daughter.

DH and I doing a long weekend in Venice in May.

A week in the Scottish Highlands in July.

A long weekend in Geneva with a friend in Sept.

Twodogsonthecouch · 04/01/2026 14:22

Currently going to London for a long weekend in 10 days (don’t live in UK) and planning 2 weeks in Jordan and Mount Sinai in early April.
Haven’t got past that yet but we are both turning 60 this year so will definitely be doing some short breaks as well. Might aim for a longer holiday again in the summer but restricted with holiday time from work

LittleLlama · 04/01/2026 14:24

Going to Budapest shortly - five nights stay. Just planning our itinerary now. I expect it will be cold but it is very inexpensive at this time of year.

Berlinlover · 04/01/2026 15:02

@Ohjoyohbliss I had loads of plans too but found out on 18 December that my cancer had returned. Wishing you all the best xxx

Same to you, and an un-Mumsnetty hug.

@TheDutchHouseApril can be quite cool for Cyprus. We went to Protarus at Easter and it was rather chilly. It was also quite sleepy as things were just starting to open up

We have Lanzarote in Feb, Cyprus in August and Benidorm in November. Hoping to squeeze on in at New Year too, did Benidorm last year and took the kids and it was way better than expected.

We are going to Nissi Beach this year. Previously we were more towards Paphos with a resort away from the beach, Atlantica Aphrodite, which was nice but quite isolated.

April can be still tricky with the weather, we are going in the second half and it's not beach weather. We go for walks and sightseeing so between 18-24 is ideal for us.
