Where are you going for your holiday this year? Looking for inspiration long or short haul ! Be interesting to see where everyone is going.

Plans mostly on hold because MIL has cancer and may not be around much longer. I turn 60 in April so we were meant to be going away for a fortnight but obviously can’t book anything for now.

Definitely heading back to Hurgada in September for a girls trip, 5 of us went to Egypt last year and had a great time so want a repeat but in a different hotel that 2 of us have already stayed in. 4 of us will be going and I can’t wait.

We have two and a half weeks in Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa in July/Aug and I'm beyond excited!

Will also probably camp in the lake district at some point. Maybe summer half term. And a festival at the end of the summer.

So sorry for everyone who's had sad news!

Off to Melbourne next week for the Australian Open and then we will do a few days in the Gold Coast. I a massive tennis fan so been wanted to do this for years and DP has some relatives over in Queensland.

It will be our last long haul holiday for a few years as we are going to TTC this year.

@Hollyleaves do you mean special train journeys or places that can be reached by train?

I've got a weekend in Cologne in February, Nimes in April with a friend and Baden-Baden and Munich by myself in October. Family holidays to Sardinia (May), Pembrokeshire (July) and Malaga (just after Christmas).

Germany and France are by train.

Is Tromso for the northern lights? If so, I hope you see them.

I am so envious of all the planners.

We are hoping to do a big trip for DH 50th and looking at Sri Lanka but wavering on spending so much!

Id love to go skiing next winter too and do some UK or European short breaks so it's just about budget and feeling ok with spending money we could put into the mortgage....

A week in Charmouth end of January, small cottage near the beach.
Just booked a week in Menorca in March. I am looking forward to seeing the island out of season.

Had a lovely but expensive holiday in Scotland last year so keeping it cheap and going to Slovakia so we can stay in my parents' house there! Might take a few days to stay in nice looking town just over the border in Hungary as well.

I really recommend Eastern Slovakia - beautiful scenery and mountains and full of historic towns, villages, castles etc

So far a girlie break to a spa hotel in Bath in February. Then off to Barbados for our annual visit there in March. I need to plan some trips for the rest of the year and book them before the BA sale finishes at the end of Jan. Just waiting for music festivals to be finalised in Europe and then I’ll get more things booked.

I think the NL would be a bonus. We went to Iceland one January and didn’t see them.

Hurghada, Egypt at Easter!

DH is fucking off to America for the world cup for two weeks

We’re taking the kids to Greece in May half term and then he’s taking me somewhere (undecided yet) in September to make it up to me that he’s fucking off to America for two weeks. Then we’ll do a week in Ireland in the summer to see my family and maybe a week somewhere else too
