Where are you going for your holiday this year? Looking for inspiration long or short haul ! Be interesting to see where everyone is going.

OP posts:

Dubai in October - not really my type of holiday but my parents + siblings are going so I’ve booked on, however the resort looks incredible so it’ll be a nice break away with my (then) 6 year old DS + 8 month old DD Smile

Hoping to also do a weekend trip to DLP at some point too and maybe a short haul in the summer like Majorca

Hobbit90 · 05/01/2026 21:34

Camping in wales over summer and centreparcs in December. Hopefully also a trip to Sweden at some point in the summer too

SliceofTosst · 05/01/2026 21:50

Interrailing at Easter for 9 days in Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France.

Thoughtsandprayers · 06/01/2026 00:17

Peak district in April
Sardinia in June
Spain in September

If lucky, we may be able to squeeze in another short break somewhere either UK or European city.

I love hearing everyone’s travel plans, great for inspiration too. My travel wish list is very long but curtailed somewhat by having to work!

Sorry to hear some of you are having to cancel plans due to ill health.

TravellingSpoon · 06/01/2026 07:58

We are all off to Japan in October and we are very excited.

Taking DS to Spain in May.

Unsure about the Summer yet, might do a few days in Devon. DS loves Haven sites and his favourite is Devon Cliffs.

DD and I are planning to do a trip to Bucharest for the spa/Christmas market in December. Just need to wait for DS's respite days to be confirmed.

CeeJay81 · 06/01/2026 08:23

Rome in early March, which is helping me get through, the grim Jan/Feb months.

Hopefully something in the UK with extended family in the Summer. Still haven't decided on it yet though.

Interested in Malta. Have you been before? Do you mind me asking where you are staying please?

Not been before but my oldest school friend lives on the island and has done for 15 years. Flying from Birmingham two of us and case is £300. And posh air bnb was £700 so £1000 all in. We will pay for food and drinks but it’s only DH and I. My rough guide and lonely planet guide and a zoom call with my friend later in the week.

This is a good staring point though https://www.getyourguide.com the 7 day guide to Valletta.

We have just booked a Norway Fords cruise for the family In August and just one more week in the summer to book now France or Germany for a week depending on flights🥂🍾

might also try to get away at Easter and October if we see any good deals!!

lincoln75 · 06/01/2026 20:45

We have booked to go and watch F1 in Belgium

queenofwandss · 06/01/2026 23:23

All beachy ones for me this year- Portugal, Majorca and Greece. Can’t wait! After a couple of busy years I am so excited to just rest and read in the sun.

Love these threads for ideas!

Icequeen01 · 07/01/2026 00:43

Literally just booked 10 days in Lake Garda at the end of June. Will probably do a city break somewhere in October.

Lostsadandconfused · 07/01/2026 00:55

So far Bali for 2 weeks in March.

HolidayHappy123 · 07/01/2026 00:58

Abu Dhabi - Feb
Champagne - March
Provence - July
Tel Aviv - July
Maldives - October
Vietnam and Cambodia - December

mondaytosunday · 07/01/2026 01:55

Going to Boston at Easter - delayed from Christmas as my son couldn’t get the time off. That’s it as expensive.

Good time to visit Cambodia. Excellent for south Vietnam and good for north, but can be wet in central Vietnam. I have visited Vietnam several times in December.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 07/01/2026 09:06

Ireland for a week in June and Crete for a fortnight in September.

Probably a city break at Easter and hopefully somewhere warm for Christmas.

Favouritefruits · 07/01/2026 09:13

Disney Paris in February and Forest Holidays Nottingham forest in August! Nothing too much this year as we had the garden landscape.

Piratejenny99 · 07/01/2026 09:32

Its lovely to read everyone's travel plans and this thread is a reminder to make the most of opportunities to travel! We have:

St Andrews weekend break
Center parcs weekend with friends / family
Paris weekend (just me and teen DD)
5 nights Estepona at Easter
Center parcs 4 nights in July
St Andrews again for a family wedding
Center parcs Paris / Disney Paris with family in October

Busy year for us and I'm excited for them all!

I think the NL would be a bonus. We went to Iceland one January and didn’t see them.

I hope you get lucky this time!

FlatStanley50 · 07/01/2026 10:50

Some amazing inspiration here. We are doing:

Scottish highlands 1 week - May half term (DD's choice)
San Sebastian for a few days - August (my choice) (just DH& I as DD is on guide camp)
French Alps 2 weeks - August (DH's choice)
Lyme Regis 1 week - October half term

And hope to fit in a city break over new year. Maybe Copenhagen.

Thanks!

I've never been to Lyme Regis but we are also looking forward to fossil hunting. We are staying right in the centre in an Airbnb.
