Make a cup of tea.

3catsandcounting · 21/04/2024 23:35

Abroad - Dump bags and go and buy cheese, bread and wine.
UK - make a cup of tea

Same! I also worked for a cleaning company in my youth and I know exactly what tricks they pull. (Shudders).

LostMySocks · 21/04/2024 23:45

Referee the argument about rooms

pizzaHeart · 21/04/2024 23:46

MrsAvocet · 21/04/2024 23:47

What is the inventory ?

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 21/04/2024 23:49

Snoop all the rooms and closets to familiarize myself with the layout. I like to know where I am!

In a garden-level Airbnb in Istanbul the rooms just went on forever, I stopped exploring because it creeped me out.

Oh dear. Now you’ll have to tell us!

thishouseisashittip · 21/04/2024 23:54

@Kittywittywoo it's all the kitchen equipment, cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, pots and pans etc.

olderbutwiser · 22/04/2024 00:10

Have sex.

fourthewin · 22/04/2024 00:14

Take photos. I like to have some to show family etc what the property was like, and like to do it while it's looking neat before the dcs make it look lived in!

RogueFemale · 22/04/2024 00:16

Go out and buy retsina.

AlmondNutbutter · 22/04/2024 00:35

Look round all the rooms and open every drawer, wardrobe and cupboard door.

caringcarer · 22/04/2024 00:44

Check the beds for bed bugs. Make a cup of tea.

Sunnytwobridges · 22/04/2024 00:57

Check for cleanliness

DramaAlpaca · 22/04/2024 01:19

Sort out who's having which bedroom.

Put the kettle on and handwash the mugs.

Do a thorough check for how clean the place is, and make a major fuss if it's not.

Then everything in the kitchen goes into the dishwasher. I wouldn't book a holiday cottage without one, people can be properly skanky.

Pussygaloregalapagos · 22/04/2024 01:20

Find the WiFi code….

mathanxiety · 22/04/2024 04:30

Check for earwigs.

(Long, terrifying story).

Motheranddaughter · 22/04/2024 05:02

In the UK turn up the heating

pinkwaterbottle9 · 22/04/2024 05:09

Me: have a wee
DH: fiddle with the heating and put the tv on
Then cuppa tea!

pinkwaterbottle9 · 22/04/2024 05:10

Oh, and yes, wash everything before a drink, I also used to work in housekeeping

marcopront · 22/04/2024 05:18

According to a trivia group I follow on Facebook you should

Stick a plaster on the sockets
Stick a plaster on the mirror
Put your finger in the mirror
Turn the toilet roll around
