What is the inventory ?

Snoop all the rooms and closets to familiarize myself with the layout. I like to know where I am!

In a garden-level Airbnb in Istanbul the rooms just went on forever, I stopped exploring because it creeped me out.

@Kittywittywoo it's all the kitchen equipment, cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, pots and pans etc.

Take photos. I like to have some to show family etc what the property was like, and like to do it while it's looking neat before the dcs make it look lived in!

Go out and buy retsina.

Look round all the rooms and open every drawer, wardrobe and cupboard door.

Check the beds for bed bugs. Make a cup of tea.

Check for cleanliness

Sort out who's having which bedroom.

Put the kettle on and handwash the mugs.

Do a thorough check for how clean the place is, and make a major fuss if it's not.

Then everything in the kitchen goes into the dishwasher. I wouldn't book a holiday cottage without one, people can be properly skanky.

Check for earwigs.

In the UK turn up the heating
