Same! I also worked for a cleaning company in my youth and I know exactly what tricks they pull. (Shudders).

Go on, tell us Shock

Thegreatgiginthesky · 22/04/2024 13:51

Wow people are v boring. I generally pour myself a glass of wine and jump in the pool. As for inventory I would just wash it when I use it.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 22/04/2024 13:52

Attempt to check beds for bedbugs

@Kittywittywoo it's all the kitchen equipment, cutlery, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, pots and pans etc.

You wash every single thing? How odd.

Bonkers, how often do you get ill from staying in a hotel or BnB? I run one and everything gets put through the dishwasher, carried over with a clean tea towel over to protect and left for the guests.

NahNeedsGarlic · 22/04/2024 13:57

Wash crockery and cutlery. Clean the washing machine drawer and seal and run it at 90c. Because it’s usually mouldy and coated in bio wash powder.

SleepingStandingUp · 22/04/2024 13:59

Wed hand wash or use the dishwasher as we go along so what do housekeeping do to make those items suddenly insanitary? I could understand say washing the bedding off you think it's not been changed but most of the household stuff will be cleaned by the person before you

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 22/04/2024 14:01

I'd just wash what was I was going use just before I used it if it looked a bit greasy or dirty. Otherwise - well, what's going to happen? Unless everyone in the house before you was infectious with some dreadful disease that can endure on glass, metal and crockery, you'll probably be fine anyway.

I think it's just the idea of everything not being clean that people don't like.

Dump my bag and straight to the pool.

TeabySea · 22/04/2024 14:03

Put luggage out of the way.
Make a cup of tea.
Open every cupboard and drawer to see what's in there.

familyissues12345 · 22/04/2024 14:04

Usually cup of tea time!

According to a trivia group I follow on Facebook you should

Stick a plaster on the sockets
Stick a plaster on the mirror
Put your finger in the mirror
Turn the toilet roll around

Oh God I need to know the reasons, pray tell?!

PencilsInSpace · 22/04/2024 14:05

Check for bedbugs and unplug the air fresheners.

I'm confused, is this some sort of Candyman thing?!

Aposterhasnoname · 22/04/2024 14:08

explore the room, unpack, then depending on the time of day head to bar, restaurant, pool or bed.

mondaytosunday · 22/04/2024 14:11

Look around then test out the bed.

In the garden if it has one and the weather is co-operating,

FinallyPregnant23 · 22/04/2024 14:18

WeightoftheWorld · 22/04/2024 14:22
