Isn't it lovely to see a proper holiday thread again and read about everyone's plans? I love hearing about others' travels, as well as planning my own.

We've already been to Malaga (Feb) and France skiing (April). In the summer we're going to Paris with DH's family, then Cornwall with mine. Oct half term we're going to Sicily and then the US for Christmas/New Year.

Already starting to make plans for next year too ...

Absolutely yes! Love hearing about holiday plans. Great to see lots of holiday threads appearing now!

@Hillyview2 take a trip on the narrow boats towards the temple, we took my teens at the same age and they loved it. There are some lovely rooftop bars we fantastic views over Bangkok, my kids had the mocktails. We were there in August and had no rain at all.

We are flying from Gatwick and bit worried that our flight will be one of the ones cancelled as they are cancelling 50 a day in August. Hope they let people know as soon as possible.

Paris in August. Hope it's not 40 degrees!!

Went to the Lake District in the Easter hols. Off to Parga in Greece for a week in July - our first visit there and it looks amazing. Then probably a week in Devon (we're very lucky to have family with a beautiful farm down there) later in the summer hols.

Went to the USA in March, meant to be going to Greece in August but we've just heard our flight have been cancelled.
Hopefully they'll offer new ones, but we have to wait 7 days to find out. Bit tricky though as we're meant to be travelling with another family, so that depends on whether we all get offered new flights.
Then away somewhere for a long weekend in October, not sure where yet.

Hopefully everyone gets to where they've booked and the issues with the flights gets resolved.

I’ve loved reading about the differ by holidays in this thread. After two tough years, it’s really to know people are enjoying their adventures.

For us, holidays this year are:

February: French Alps for skiing ( it was fab. First time overseas in 2 years. I practically fainted on seeing the cheese counter at the local fromagerie)

April: A week in Sorrento. We loved exploring, and there was so much to see and do. DS ate eight pizzas in seven days. Highly recommended for a family holiday.

July/August: The French Alps for walking, a couple of nights in Avignon then a week in a villa in Carcasonne. Where I plan to languish by the pool, read, amble medieval towns in search of ice cream and fully acquaint myself with the local cuisine.

Late August: A week at a cottage in North Norfolk. DH can work off the WiFi. I’ll visit family and walk/ sail/ go gilly crabbing with the kids.

October: Five days in Mallorca planned. Need to convince DH but DD is keen as she’s studying Spanish and has never been.

Travelling with work just never cut the mustard from me, despite going to some lovely places!

@LabradorsInThePond

if really wanting to learn Spanish, go southern mainland

Ohthatsexciting · 18/06/2022 14:11
