oh it is WEIGH IN DAY

you don't have to weigh in, but if you want to, this is the day

OP posts:
elliemental · 19/04/2010 09:36

i would like to lose weight before a milestone birthday at end of may

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 09:48

What do you want to lose by then, eliie?

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 09:51

do you know, your points that you are allowed with ww go down as you lose weight. How annoying is that? Quite a mixed incentive I think.

I know you obviously need a bit less as you weigh less but still!

elliemental · 19/04/2010 09:54

ANYTHING

I am currently 9 stone 12lbs. I suppose 12 lbs is asking too much
I'd like to be 9.6 or thereabouts.
I had such a shock in the clothes shop at weekend. I was unrecognisible in the full length surround mirrors. It's not the weight, so much as the distrbution of it all, IYSWIM
I feel constantly full and heavy and lumpen. But hungry too, if that makes sense?

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 10:04

Yes, it makes perfect sense. You are hungry as you have extra to feed. I know the feeling.

Once you are in the zone its easier I think. I was in it before the holiday which is why it was such bad timing. Hard to go back now.

I bet you don't look that big. If I was 9 12 I would be overjoyed!

elliemental · 19/04/2010 10:07

I know, I know, it's more that I am not in proportion! I like like an EggMan with little spindly legs and a huge arse and stomach!

elliemental · 19/04/2010 10:25

ds2 has been playing me Madness and we have been dancing. Now THAT is aerobic!!

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 10:37

lol at egg man - I don't put much weight on my middle, I'm all bum and hips and turkey drummers.

Right off to town for school trousers. Nothing like leaving it until the last minute.

pointydog · 19/04/2010 10:38

I have lost 1 pound. I am in the zone so am disappointed with 1 pound. I am now 11 st 7lb.

I would like to lose 7lb in one week. is that possible?

My strategy is to eat a lot less. That's it.

CoupleofKooks · 19/04/2010 10:38

i don't think it's unrealistic guad, i just think you put it back on easily if you lose it fast
but i put weight on easily these days whether i lose it fast or slow so what do i know

ellie i think your plan has focus
but possibly lacks f+v
is dust one of your 10 a day?
i know what you mean about bad proportions
i am 10 2 now and 5 ft 9 but my arms and legs are so skinny i look dreadfully lumpen round the middle

did you see people asking if the shiny threads were the new 10/10 threads?

OP posts:
CoupleofKooks · 19/04/2010 10:41

we have lost one of ds2's boots
they were in the buggy yesterday and one has fallen out somewhere
we went all over and have retraced our steps but no sign of it
they were so cute and red and they were ds1's and even our nice independent shoe shop doesn't seem to sell pretty boots that are quite so nice any more

OP posts:
elliemental · 19/04/2010 10:57

oh that is sad CoK
what size is he now?

we are now congoing round the house to Jump in line (shake shake senora) and I can't stop laughing! (that song from the end of Beetlejuice)

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 14:42

pointy - don't be disheartened, sometimes you can be waiting for the lag, seems like its taking ages and then bam, two more pounds.

Franny - yes it does go on quicker if you stop or have a blip, but, ime if you can keep going then it carries on going and then you can waver about maintaining at the end. I pretty much went straight down from 12 -10 last year and then averaged out at about 10 2 - 10 3 when I ate normal/bigger amounts which suited me.

However - of course the sensible way is to lose it slowly and surely. I know, I know.

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 14:46

and it helps if you don't go on a stuffitall vacation when you are in the zone! We also get dinner and breakfast thrown in with our hotel room on sunday so that could be tricky.

I sat in the Caley's chocolate cafe today and resisted the carrot cake, even though ds1 had a white choc dipped cranberry cookie, dd had an enormous chocolate cake and ds1 had victoria sponge. I felt virtuous. Though I did nibble some of the cookie.

Bummer about the shoe. Maybe it will appear on a wall..

pointydog · 19/04/2010 14:58

12 to 10 st? respec to guad.

You know one of my biggest problems with it all? I don;t like the dds knowing that I am dieting. dd2 in partocular is sensitive to me eating less food and not having the same as everyone else.

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 15:06

Thanks, was this time last year. The weight was creeping up after hysterectomy so I found some resolve as the thought of being fat and barren was just too much.

I am very conscious of what dcs think too. It's really hard. I am very often having different dinners and dd kept saying, 'just don't look at the carrot cake, mummy' in the cafe.

Mind you I quite often eat different stuff anyway. I don't really like a lot of stuff that they do like meatballs and bolognaise and, well, meat really. I like chicken.

pointydog · 19/04/2010 15:36

We always eat the same stuff and we eat it together so this is pretty noticeable. dd2 was not happy with me not having a pizza in pizza express

Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 16:18

Why not happy? How old is she? Can't you just say you are avoiding bread or something?

I would often have roasted veg with my spaghetti where they have bolognaise for eg, don't usually eat roast potatoes that sort of thing, so it's not a huge change. We mostly eat together.

I do go on about it a bit atm though. I should stop that.

pointydog · 19/04/2010 16:54

she's just quite sensitive about food and is old enough (11) to know all about weight and diets.

CoupleofKooks · 19/04/2010 18:20

i am eating the same as everyone else, if we are having something lardy i just eat less and more veg - and if we are having something low fat the boys have bread and butter with it, or more snacks afterwards or whatever
ds1 thinking that salad is a treat helps

we bought new shoes for ds2
then new trainers for ds1
then i went to get new trainers for me (ankles getting too dodgy to ignore) but the ones i need are £80, so i am sleeping on it
which basically means i will stew on it all week and then pay up on friday

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 19:18

I'd like some new shoes. Some pumps maybe but I can't see any I like in the shops. They're all weird.

My mum is stuck in Turkey. I hadn't even remembered that she'd gone until my sister phoned yesterday and said she was meant to be collecting her and obviously couldn't now. I have even watched the news thinking those poor travellers, that must be annoying and there is my mum AND my little brother with them. Crap daughter.

CoupleofKooks · 19/04/2010 19:52

god i never know where my parents are
they always seem to be on holiday and i just nod and smile and obviously don't listen properly at all

ds1's trampolining teacher is also stuck in Turkey
oddly his stand in teacher is called Chicken (honest, this is his actual name that he goes by, he has a badge and everything)
life is odd sometimes

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 19/04/2010 19:57

lol at chicken

I wonder how Boco's first day has gone

elliemental · 19/04/2010 20:27

in addition to my dust I had a very wonderful chicken salad for lunch with avacado, onion, olives, peppers, carrot, spinach etc.

But I had it at 11.45 so by 3.30 I was starving and had a cheese salad butty .

Spicey sausages with tomatoes, red cabbage, kidney beans, onions and mushroom casserole.

Boco · 19/04/2010 20:31

First day was good! I spent it dancing Didn't really expect that.

I think it'll be much easier to lose weight doing this job rather than working from home where I have access to a biscuit tin. Definitely got plenty of exercise today too!
