For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

littlerach · 29/12/2009 13:16

Like it Molly

WE are awaiting the arrival of my sister and partner and children.
they have been arguiing for the past 2 days and it was only an hour ago that she confirmed they were all coming.
I am hoping we can be joyful and merry and take their minds off their argument.
We shall see......

And it is raining.
I detest rain and want some of the frosty weathe rback again.

TheMollyRogerAndTheIvy · 30/12/2009 14:34

I am hungover. WHich is unexpec ted and not fair as I only had 3 modest glasses of wine. I blame time of the month (full moon looming and all that)

However have had melon and satsumas and apple.

We need to go shopping but I can't remember what normal foods we eat. we seem to have been living on toast and chocolate and finger food for weeks now.

TheMollyRogerAndTheIvy · 31/12/2009 17:23

On the off chance that any fruity bitches wander in tonight, may I wish you Happyof New Year, and the sincere hope that 2010 brings, love, luck, light and laughter to you all

An' a very 'Appy New Year to all the luvverly veggers

I am still in Mary Poppins mode having watched it for the first time for ages yesterday and DS had never seen it.

We have been singing Chim Chiminee ever since, and I seem to have started talking like Dick van Dyke

SuperBunny · 01/01/2010 19:00

lol @ FK

Hope you are all well. I'm in the process of planning to turn over a new leaf... have eaten:

Quorn mince (it's made out of fungus and, if mushrooms count...)
Kidney beans
Baked beans
Veggie sausage (?)
peas

Five (?)

And I had a little run around at the soft play which TooT can vouch for. Aren't they a lovely bunch? On the way home, DS said 'Shall we go to TooT's house tomorrow?"

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 01/01/2010 19:42

Hi Veggers. Happy New Year to you all.

I need to haul my sorry arse onto this thread again. I could defo do with boot camp.

I hope everyone is well xxx

ThePinkOne · 01/01/2010 20:52

You saw TooT and The TooTlets?

Apple (some of), satsuma (some of) celery, cuc, tomato (bits of) Bloody children share everything!

ThePinkOne · 01/01/2010 20:55

Oh and TooT saw Bunny and little bunny

TheMollyRogerAndTheIvy · 02/01/2010 14:54

well I am hopefully planning a Grand Trip to Tootland for a weekend in end of Jan or feb, if any lovely southern veggers live within hitting distance?

There, if I say it, it means I will do it

TheMollyRogerAndTheIvy · 02/01/2010 14:55

I need boot camp too. Starting on Monday. or whenever I have finished off all the Bad Things lying temptingly round the housre.....

SuperBunny · 02/01/2010 16:01

Oh, come in Feb, Molly. We'll come and play

Will be up for boot camp. Am a fat fat bugger.

Bean Hash
cabbage
juice
peas
carrots
cauliflower

six so far.

TheMollyRogerAndTheIvy · 02/01/2010 17:57

oh that would be good!

More snow today and an arctic blast forecast over the next fortnight.
This doesn't exactly fill me with the urge to eat salad and fruit
Can we pool ideas for carby, comforting, warming yet healthy and veg-filled meals?

Otherwise, today for example, I have eaten bacon and tomato sarnie
1 satsuma

mushrooms and onion....in a pork goulash!

SuperBunny · 02/01/2010 19:01

Bean Hash from Toby Carvery

I need to find a recipe so I can make it - tis delicious and stodgy and comforting but packed with beans and veg and congealed cow pus

poinsettydawg · 02/01/2010 19:12

I have made a big salad today with avocado and prawns and tomatoes and spring onions and lime juice andn chilli and coriander. And I spent ages finishing a pineapple, orange and melon salad.

Shame about teh tasty stuff that went with it but I'm starting to lean towards the fruity side again.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 02/01/2010 22:00

banana
juice
olives (2 portions as I ate a lot)
grapes
mushrooms

I honestly think I've eaten more chocolate in the last month than I have in the previous eleven all added together.

And we've still got loads of shite, aka nice stuff, in the house. Mince pies, Christmas cake, loads of nice cheese.

Will try and think of some carby yet veggy dishes.

MaskedYurter1 · 02/01/2010 23:26

SB isnot even remotely fat!!

LR isnearby also and delightful.

I have drunk a bottle of wine. And eaten a clive's pie (chestnut cassoulet) and had chickp[ea soup from lovely co-operative cafe. So can I call that 4 or 5 rather tipsy portions?

ThePinkOne · 03/01/2010 00:33

I'm going East Anglia-wards in Feb

SuperBunny · 03/01/2010 15:31

Aw, Pink. You should come down this way. I wonder if we can tempt Lully to join us West Country folk... I do think we should have a mini meetup when the weather allows. Me & Toot are going to Old Sarum in the Spring anyway, aren't we? I know we didn't actually say that but I decided...

FrayedKnot · 03/01/2010 16:48

Ooh I keep thinking about a trip westward.

SB I have also posted on lp/festie thread about Wychwood.
