For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

SuperBunny · 12/12/2009 22:10

Are 4 year old boys generally a little brattish?

My lovely boy has turned into a stroppy, defiant, rude, argumentative and shouty monster. I want my lovely baby back. He does usually have phases of being a little, well, exuberant but this is miserable for both of us. Nothing works - I can ask him nicely to do things, tell him firmly, encourage/ cajole/ bribe , shout, whisper, smile but whatever I try, he either ignores me, says 'NO', refuses to do it or deliberately does it but very much in his own time. I'm finding myself making ridiculous threats, saying stupid things e.g. when my phone beeped on his 800th time out of bed last night, I told him it was Father Christmas texting to say he wouldn't be able to visit DS ... I did text FC back 10 mins later to say it was ok, babybunny was in bed and not shouting but FFS. What am I doing???

KissingUnderTheMittsletoe · 13/12/2009 09:22

Oh, SB, I am sorry. It is hard when you are usually so very very close.

I don't know what to suggest that you probably haven't already tried. With DD (7) who is like this occasionally, I try the 'it is so nice when you help Mummy by being helpful and then we can do x or y' sort of thing. But I suspect you are doing that kind of thing anyway.

Do you think it might be pre Christmas stress and excitement?

SuperBunny · 13/12/2009 18:20

I do think xmas may be part of this. There is lots of excitement and stress for both of us. Had a nice day today (probably because he stayed with my BIL while I went to the farmer's mkt) and did crafty stuff (with some shouting when he smeared paint all over the table cloth). We did snuggle on the sofa under blankets and watched The Snowman and have been for a run in the forest with friends.

Sweet potato chili (innocent veg pot = 3)
Watercress sausage (must count for something?)
Peas
Baked beans
Juice
Cherry cake

hollyroger · 13/12/2009 18:32

lol at festive bastards Mayo!

erm,

tomatoes
marmalade,
Green beans,
carrots
cauli
parnsips
Apple juice

orange marties
Mince pies

Oh shit. It ain't even christmas yet and I cannot eat well....
