For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Hello Wombling.

womblingalong · 15/10/2009 22:57

Hello everyone, it's quiet in here tonight, where is everyone?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 16/10/2009 14:20

Hi SB, I haven't been to Barcelona, but it is on my places to 'do' list. Unless we can plan a trip and run away...

I hope you are feeling improved. I try really hard not to like Henry Moore but there was one of his pieces and I just wanted to drape myself over it's sumptuous, sensual curves, but satisfied myself with licking a stone plynth instead...(it just looked so salty), I guess you had to be there .

I don't think I am going to be able to see you at all in the half term and I am SO sorry, but I have used up pretty well all of my play days and pocket money this year...

Hello to everyone else ((((()))))

FrayedKnot · 16/10/2009 20:40

Hi Wombling

We are a bit thin on the ground of late.

Glad you got seen, SB, and have something to take.

Sorry Moll, did you not recognize your title, hmm?

Barcelona is lovely, lovely. The Park Guell is fab.

off to see Up with smaller ds today, am mildly excited, but that is prob more to do with legitimate excuse toeat crap popcorn and sweeties.

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 17/10/2009 13:17

Moll you must let me know what Up is like, I may take my niece and nephew next week.

I have been a bad bad vegger these past few days, probably reaching 5 at the very most. DH has been working away and I can't arsed to cook nice stuff for just me. I will have to pull my finger out and improve the f&v though as dh will be working away for the next few weeks. Bummer.

DS will not keep socks on in the house and his feet are getting really chilly so dh bought him some of these. He looks sooo cute in them.

mollyroger · 17/10/2009 14:07

ds (9 next week) and I sobbed and sobbed!

SuperBunny · 17/10/2009 18:13

I did not want to see UP but my best friend did so we went the day before I left Chicago. It was the perfect film - very moving, quite poignant yet comforting but tear-jerking. I was pleasantly surprised. It is fab.

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 18/10/2009 08:33

Oh gawd, I'm going to blub aren't I?

yesterday:

banana
grapes
satsumas
avocado
beans

I think baby lemur has croup, luckily only mild. He was up a lot though last night. DH and I are knackered but he seems ok!

mollyroger · 18/10/2009 09:54

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 18/10/2009 19:01

Well what do you think about becoming a school governor mayor? I certainly don't think it is a boring thing to do.

Am expecting another usnsettled night with ds

MayorNaze · 18/10/2009 19:17

i don't know what i think really. i think it would be a worthy thing to do. but i don't know how much time it would take up as i don't have a huge amount of time to offer. but i do have some time

have emailed asking for details.

tis a very grown up thing to do i think

am worried i am not esp grown up

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 18/10/2009 19:33

Another fan for UP, took DC's today and went on the travelling 'eye' wheel thingy. I absolutely dtest things like that....brave mummy sticker today.

Flying in and out..so Hi to all..

FrayedKnot · 18/10/2009 19:44

Evening all

I have been thinking of taking DS to see UP too, I think you may have persuaded me.

Mayo, I wouldn;t consider myself grown up enough to be a school guv'nor. Most things associated with school generally make me feel about 6. I stand in the playground and think - goodness look at all these grown up people with kids. But you may be just slightly more mature Why not do it, I say.

F all exercise and rather a lot of pizza this weekend. It did have spinach and red onions on it though.

It's my fruit intake that is suffering, it's the time of year, I think? I love berry fruits and of course they are dwindling.

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 18/10/2009 19:49

mature? moi? hmm. we will have to have a vegger meetup then you can all see just how mature and grown up i am

maybe i will have to go and see this UP film of which you speak over halfterm then...

littlerach · 18/10/2009 19:49

Evenin' all

Mayor, my friend s a parent governor and she does quite a bit. She attends about 3 meetings each half term, and is in school for a half day every other week.
Then they also have governor of the month when they are expected to be in much more.

Google Governor Net and there's mor einfo there.

I have just finished as Clerk to the Governors ta a secondary school here and was very impressed and in awe of how much work the governors all put in there.

Not much F&V here either.
Though have just had a plate of celery, broccoli, avacado, carrot, cucumber and tomato, all raw.
With humous.
Mmmmm.
Followed by lemon cheesecake.
Burp

Now settling dowm for the X Factor

mollyroger · 19/10/2009 08:48

Mayo have CATTED you....

morning, am dashing off to work very reluctantly. Have no fruit in the house except for apples. Pah. have very good apple cake though

Ate loads f&V yesterday as we had friends over for sunday dinner. But also drank too much wine (we started early

Have a mellow monday

ThePinkOne · 19/10/2009 21:43

You disappeared!! I disappeared!! I couldn't find you! Hello

I went to Guad's!!! Her house is wonderful (ooh I'm all grins and !!!!) She was totally right about moving the wall even though the builders rolled thier eyes. And her kitchen is amazing. The enourmous dresser is perfect - it was meant for her kitchen. And she made me the most gorgeous yummy bagel for lunch even though I wasn't supposed to be staying for lunch

DD has had a couple of poorly days but she's perked up today. She's loving creche at my course and can't wait to start pre-school after christmas and she's 3 in 3 weeks

DS is 8 months and cruising round furniture, has 2 teeth, crawling, sleeping through the night (until this week when I think the cruising has upped his appetite!)

Just Oh my GOD!

Sorry, probably no-one noticed I've not been around but just thought I'd give you a quick rundown on what we've been up to!

Can't read all, tell me any big news.

Hope everyone's good

mollyroger · 20/10/2009 08:09

oh Pink!
I feel so jealous of all you nearish living veggers. Just my luck to fall in love with a bunch of southerners.
Guad, have you fucked off this thread for good or are you just RL-ing?
I am feeling v hormonal, it is my ickle bay-bay's 9th birthday tomorrow. I dreamed I was breastfeeding a jolly little buda-baby last night (you know, all fat dimples and serene expression)And woke up feeling bereft...
I am also struggling to mamange 10 a day,as I just want toast and soup. Probably managed 6 yesterday. That'll do.

Pink, don't be silly Your baby cannot possibly be 8 months....

How is TF and teenytigerfeet getting on?

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 20/10/2009 11:18

8 months old already?!

I have bf'ing dreams too Molly and I also wake up feeling wanting - and I'm still bf'ing Baby Lemur. Go figure?

yesterday:

banana
cucumber
humous
carrots
grapes
dried fruit

It's the cold weather that makes you crave comfort food, and my idea of comfort food does not include 10 f&v.

pointyhat · 20/10/2009 15:41

wooo hooooo. It's been quiet. I had to go searching for this.

MayorNaze · 20/10/2009 16:38
