For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg

If you were 5, and you had a brand new pair of winter shoes, and you had "lost" them where do you think you might have put them?

I have looked and looked.

ThePinkOne · 24/10/2009 22:39

Bottom of the toy box? Under the stairs/sofa?

mwahahahamwahahahallyroger · 25/10/2009 09:55

ThePinkOne · 25/10/2009 19:41

FrayedKnot · 25/10/2009 20:06

Hullo....I am catching up, but have apparently had the flu of the swine.

So when hungry have worked my way through the crap stuff that gets shoved to the back of the cupboard.

My DD puts shoes and stuff 'in' things, so would recommend bags, drawers and inside toys of the right size!

Pink....hi! LO sounds fun

Christmas..... Nooooooooooooooo!!

ABW if you are around my phone is on charge as it died from me listening to music all day.

ILikeToQuickstepItTangoIt · 26/10/2009 20:23

I bet your house smells delicious Moll.

Have you saved a pumpkin for carving?

ThePinkOne · 26/10/2009 20:50

DD keeps saying things like 'the leaves are all going yellow and orange, it must be autumn'. Is she really not even 3 yet?!

Courgette frittata and peas and sweetcorn for dinner. Lots of fruit for lunch. Raisins, apple juice.

Rubbish at 10/10 at the minute. Want to get running. Might need kick up the arse!

SuperBunny · 26/10/2009 20:53

Have not read thread. In Yorks with ex in-laws [fixed smile]

Been to Railway Museum in York today, lots walking. NO F&V. I don't think they have ANY here. Only quavers, cocopops and countless juice boxes for DS. And then, as a treat, Smarties. They are, however, tolerant of our veggie status and one has to be thankful for small mercies...

mwahahahamwahahahallyroger · 26/10/2009 21:10

oh SB, I wish I hjad known, we could have met up!?

mwahahahamwahahahallyroger · 26/10/2009 21:10

ThePinkOne · 26/10/2009 21:17

Are you ex-ILs American? ExH is isn't he?

TigerFeet · 27/10/2009 08:14

FrayedKnot · 27/10/2009 09:19

Moll, pleeeeease post recipe for pumpkin & ginger loaf!! Sounds great and we have the mighty carve up due anytime now.

I really want to go to the Railway museum with DS, SB. Hope your visit is nearly done.

Am not supposed to be at home today but childcare plans have gone a bit awry. DS & I are going to make popcorn and smuggle it in to cinema to see UP.

Oh we found the shoes

Down the side of the garage covered in mud

But at least found and don;t have to buy a new pair

OP posts:
mwahahahamwahahahallyroger · 27/10/2009 10:15

Yay for shoes!

I am offering myself up as official tour guide for any veggers wuishing to visit Railway museum. I have spent much of the past 12 years there...

I do worry about the fact that this recipe basically disguises the pumpkin under a false moustache of honey and a trilby of ginger but it is Very yummy and both boys adored it.

6oz melted butter
5oz clear honey
1 lareg beaten egg
9oz raw peeled pumpkin grated
4oz light muscavado sugar
12oz self raising flour
1 tbs ground ginger

you could add some sultanas if you wanted

oven 180degreesC
Grease loaf tin
mix honey/butter/egg together. Add pumpkin. Then mix in everything else.
Sprinkle top with a little demerara sugar
Bake 50 mins
Serve with butter.
Nom....
