For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

were you posting cauliflower porn SB?

where are Toot and littlerach? are you having coffee and cakes without me

hope you both ok.

if i had one wish - today it would be that i could get out of bed at 8 o'clock and everybody would be up, dressed, breakfasted appropriately, clean and ready for school. and i would have had nothing whatsoever to do with any of it

and if someone could bring me a cuppa in bed that would be the icing on the cake.

better keep looking for that magic lamp, eh?

mollyroger · 19/11/2009 09:41

If i could have one wish today it would be that there was some sort of electrical problem at work, meaning we all got sent home...!

ThePinkOne · 19/11/2009 19:44

Just tasted like normal cauli. Kids all ate it too! (now that makes it sound like I have many children - we took it to a friend's house for dinner) (now that makes it sound like we took the cauli to dine with us - not so. just to add to the dinner)

One wish today - that DH, who has just gone out, would come back in 2 mins, having bought me a caramel at the garage, then go.

SuperBunny · 19/11/2009 19:57

1 wish - for there to be more time in the day

MayorNaze · 20/11/2009 09:08

that would be a good wish SB. except the exta hours would belong solely to me (and all mums everywhere and not be taken up by escorting somebody small for a poo, hoovering, doing laundry and general tedium...

TigerFeet · 20/11/2009 10:35

i've had romanesco, they grow it at dh's work, it's lovely

we have had mini ones too, and mini cauli [ponce]

we're off to cornwall tomorrow, dh is working down there next week so we are going with him

the weather is forecast to be foul, but at least i won't have to look at my ironing pile. poor dh will be tramping round farms. i will be in a nice warm cottage with hob nobs apples and hot chocolate orange juice

i need more hours too please

lots to do today

we are visiting dd1's old nursery today with a view to booking a place for dd2

mollyroger · 20/11/2009 12:26

oh TF! Whereabouts are you going to? I heart cornwall so much. I have friends in penzance and I am hoping desperately to get to see them this year.

littlerach · 20/11/2009 16:28

Hello all

Poor little dd2 is ill
She was sent home Tues afternoon and has been off since.
After an awful night with her, dh took her to the drs today and she has an ear and throat infection, plus croup

She is struggling on, whilst reminding us how ill she is

Dd1 isd off to a sleepover tonight, then to a theme park tomorrow (in the rain).

I have passed my NVQ 3 - hurrah! And it only took 6 months

I have been trying to get back into the F&V vibe but struggling. It seems too much t plan dinner for everyone whilst theya re off out and at activities.

SuperBunny · 20/11/2009 23:04

Well done, LR hope DD2 feels better v soon.

Where's Toot gone?

Have a good time in cornwall TF. I have never been there but now I live in the Southwest, I probably should.

littlerach · 21/11/2009 14:27

Thansk SB.

I'm sure TooT is lurking;
I met up with her on Monday as we finally had a day when we were both free.
She spilt yellow colured tea and threatened to tell the lady that I had wee -ed on the floor

I think I owuld like ot go to Cornwall. I went there abolut 12 years ago and was v nice.

SuperBunny · 21/11/2009 18:27

lol @ TooT!

ThePinkOne · 21/11/2009 21:36

Have a great time Tigerfamily! Well done for the NVQ Rach.

Facebookers go over and vote on my dress please!

littlerach · 22/11/2009 11:54

Wel I was supposed ot be at my sister's for her birthday today.

Dd2 couldn't come as she is still hacking away.

So was just dd1 and me.

Just before we reached Salisbury, about 8 cars in front, there was a crash and a car ended up on the kerbside.
2 men went out to help but couldn't get the people out (unbeknown to us there was another car on the ditch opposite) and everyone began truning round to go back.

I didn't know any other way to go and there was no mobile signal.

A man came down the queue and said there were 2 people trapped in a car and it didn't look good

So we turned around, drove until we found a signal, then called dh at home, and mum. Mum was also stuck in traffic as the weather was so atrocious and told me ot go home and not try and find another route.

So we're home, safe thank god. They have closed the A36 in both directions so even if we'd got there, we may not have been able to get back.

So now dh is cooking as we were supposed ot be at Wagamama's fp rlunch.

Am feeling glad we're ok and safe right now.

TigerFeet · 22/11/2009 18:12

ThePinkOne · 22/11/2009 18:25

Did you say Falmouth when we met? I'm sure not cause that's where I grew up!! Lived in Falmouth til I was 13

Going to bed in a minute - been up since 5 starting to feel sick and wobbly.

Lovely risotto for tea. Some veg in but mostly cheese!

SuperBunny · 22/11/2009 18:56

LR

Mmm, risotto

Must do ironing.

littlerach · 22/11/2009 19:01

Risotto, drool.

Dh made a gnocchi bake, with spinach, cauli and tomatoes which was lovely, comfort food.

The road was still closed at 5.30pm
I just hope the people were ok.

Weather is complete shit.

At least dd2 seems to be on the mend and should be back at school tomorrow.

Night, Pink

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 22/11/2009 19:18

littlerach · 23/11/2009 08:43

Will find it and post SB.

It was delicious and i have leftovers for supper tonight

A ypung lad died in the accident yesterday

Hey FK, nice to see you.
I have bulk bought pears to try and increase fruit!

littlerach · 23/11/2009 18:11

Right, gnocchi bake:
Preheat oven to 200C.

You need ot either make cheese sauce or buy some (500g).

Boil gnocchi and cauli (220g, chopped) for 2 mins, or until gnocchi cooked and comes to top.

Cook 250g spinach (I used 125g frozen spinach) until wilted.

In a gratin dish, combine half the cooked gnocchi, cauli and spinach, and cheese sauce.

Layer 2 sliced tomatoes on top.

Add the rest of the gnocchi, cauli, spinach and cheese sauce then layer 2 more sliced tomatoes on top.
Sprinle with bit of cheddar or other strong cheese.

Bake 10 mins.

I have ot say it was very rich with all the sauce, and may use less sauce next time.
Also, I would cook the cauli for a little longer as it was hard.

It served 4 of us (2 kids). and I had leftovers tpoday.

Mmmmm.

TooTicky · 23/11/2009 18:43

Hello

SuperBunny · 23/11/2009 19:53

I'm a bit worried about DS's hearing. I can't decide if he is ignoring me/ choosing not to listen or if he actually can't hear me. How do I get his hearing tested? Do I have to take him to the GP?

I once convinced ex-h to have his hearing tested because he never heard a thing I said and he was told 'you're fine, your hearing is perfect. You just have man ears and hear what you want to'
