For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Been on hols for 3 days and put on 5lb!!! Too much wine and loads of cake from dd's birthday to blame.

So today, I have started being a bit better. I only had one chocolate cake bar. And peaches (tinned), apricot (dried), raisins, apple juice, beans, stir fry (3) and a banana

So a very impressive (considering my recent form) 9 (and no exercise but hey I have to start somewhere!)

Bunny what's going on with the job? Just the kind where you're overworked and underpaid and can't leave when you should because people are relying on you? Are they understaffed?

Hope things are settling down chez Lemur. Glad things are picking up chez Moll!

Need to go to the market on Monday so that my entire f&v intake isn't frozen, dried or tinned!

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 14:20

oh crapola. DS has dislodged a tooth plaster and is now crying with pain. Just as we were set to go for a wholesome walk and duckfeeding. DH gone in search of temp toothe cement and some anbasol.

I have new boots eaten a milluio0n portions of F&V.
new boots
new boots!

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 14:22

pharmacy should have dental putty

i am eating innocent vegy pot RIGHT NOW, apprently that has 3 portions of f&v in so whoohoo for me

an awful lot of flatulence on this thread...pheweee...

sorry moll, did you say something about new boots f&V?

i am always interested in newboots-- f&v

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 14:33

they are very dull but so snuggly and nice. They are like Uggs but with proper nice bouncy rubberised sole. Black suede, long, fur-lined and look fab with silly little skirt whcih I am currently crammed into.

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 14:50

i am not wearing fake uggs right now. not at all. they are not as comfy as slippers either.

and i did not buy, with a discount provided by mn, a pair of over knee flat boots last week either. which are so warm in the crappy wind and rain it is unbelievable

nope, no-one here with a a bit of a boots "thing" at all

how is ds?

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 14:50

no silly skirts here either. really

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 15:04

it is the longest 15 mins of ds's life as he has to sit there without talking with some putty beween his teeth!

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 15:06

trouble is, it is one of his back molars and I think he has actually chipped a bit off, rather than existing tooth plaster come out, which was what I first suspected. It hurts a lot apparently
and tomorrow will mean an hour long vigil on the phone, trying to grab emergency appointment with dentist.

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 15:07

oh dear. hopefully dental putty over the tooth will help til tmorrow. how did he do that then?

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 15:21

he has terribly crappy teeth, poor love. Gawd knows...

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 15:25

crappy teeth suck (see what i did there ).
we should really start a savings account as dd1s teeth are awful really discoloured and manky looking. perfectly healthy but not pretty
dentist says he can fix them when she is older, i imagine diamonds would be cheaper...

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 15:31

ha!

Poor little dude has decalcification which apparentlky happedned in the womb (another thing to beat myself up over as a mother, of course)
ds1 has fabulouso teeth. Mine are ok. DH's are terrible. genes, eh?

thank goodness we are having chicken today and not the beautiful slow roast pork with crackling which ds enjoyed so much last sunbday...

oh, we will be having
asparagus
beans
carrots
brocolli
cabbage
parsnips
cranberrie and chestnut stuffing

with that

followed by apple crumble

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 15:51

dds is something to do with enamel...dh has it too but not on teeth you can see. perhaps i should train as a dentist...

right.
kiwis
plums
apple
x3 in my innocent pot thingy
2 x innocent smoothies
1 x satsuma (going to eat another in a mo)

and have banana as well

10/10 and a sticker please!!!!

though am failing miserably on the exercise as am at work sitting down for 10 hours. but am drinking lots of water so to-ing and fro-ing from the lav counts as exercise, yes?

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 15:53

was the innocent pot thingy tasty?
Such a good idea...which one did you hae? I was looking at them for ocasional work lunch. I am bored to death of home made soup tbh.

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 16:04

i like them - had the thai curry one today but think have tried them all now. bit pricy - they are my treat

glad things are picking up for you lovey

oh - whlie i remember - you wuldn't BELIEVE how much i paid for a pint of guinness the other night . go on, have a guess?

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 16:06

a thasand pahhnds?

erm...you have to remember I have not been near a pub for many moons....
£3.50?

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 16:07

my friend told me his real ale pint was £2.72 the other week. I was amused at the preciseness. That 2p seemed sort of random.

mmm Theakstons...

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 16:21

i am not exactly a pun frequenter myself but we went to see magnum god help us

Five flipping english pounds!!!

girly lager was £2.50 !

i went teetotal after the first pint (mainly cos i could not afford another!)

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 16:21

pun? pub

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 17:15

Five pahnds a pint?

Magnum??????

mollyroger · 15/11/2009 17:17

Are they even still alive, and that? What do Magnum fans look like these days? I had a boyfriend at 6th form who was into Magnum, Metallica, Queensryche and stuff. All good fun.

MayorNaze · 15/11/2009 17:20

well, if you take david coverdale...and mix him with...jimmy saville...that is magnum

and magnum fans look like old men. possihbly because that is what they are

i have to say that they are not really my most favourite band of all time. though dh thought they were good!

off to see airbourne in jan

SuperBunny · 15/11/2009 18:20

I just got new boots too. I love shoes but I always end up wearing 1 pair for months on end and my others never see the light of day.

Sorry about DS tooth, Moll. Is he feeling any better?

Banana
Juice
Shepherd's pie (2? Does Quorn count? I know Franny always counted soya)
Broccoli
Peas
Cabbage
Sultanas

EIGHT.

And a walk down the cliff to the beach and a paddle in the sea (in wellies [black with white swirly patterns, in case you are interested]). So, bit of exercise.

What is an innocent veg pot? I thought they did smoothies.

SuperBunny · 15/11/2009 18:21

I have not had a pint in the pub for years.

TigerFeet · 15/11/2009 18:33

me neither bunny

pre dd1 probably

i used to love ale but have gone off it now

more of a wine girl these days [aspirational]

banana
apple
salad (3)
coleslaw

more salad to follow

exercise consisted of walking round the shops for a couple of hours. sadly no new boots here. i am fond of new boots. i have seen a pair but can't justify the £££

hope ds's tooth is ok moll

magnum they were up there on the list of bands whose existence had completely slipped my mind.
