For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

oh gosh lemur

thinking of you you are very brave and strong

SuperBunny · 08/11/2009 13:18

How are you, Lemur? Thinking of you x

I have Molly's pumpkin & ginger loaf in the oven, except I made it with Butternut Squash due to lack of pumpkins after Hallowe'en

So, what do I do with the leftover half a butternut squash? Can you eat it raw? It is nice and sweet.

DO any of you have a favourite recipe book? I'm looking for inspiration.

And what should I do with a rindless orange & a lemon? Other than eat them.

MayorNaze · 08/11/2009 13:37

hello SB

i like jamie - pretty foolproof. how are you?

moll - am not on FB and now have further irritiation - cannot go to cropredy as gonig on holiday with out inlaws

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 08/11/2009 13:58

Many thanks for your thoughts fellow veggers, it means a lot.

It's the anniv of ds's funeral tomorrow so it is all a bit full on at the mo. I know I will feel a bit better once these horrible reminders are out of the way.

SB - I love Delia and her online sight is great for recipes.

Use the juice of the orange and lemon on some pancakes?

Roast the butternut. yum yum.

TooTicky · 10/11/2009 18:46

TigerFeet · 12/11/2009 17:28

i'm here

dd2 on feeding frenzy

poor dd1 needs feeding too but won't latch on... she reckons she needs tomato suop not milk. most inconvenient.

SuperBunny · 12/11/2009 19:08

Hello

F&V is crap - 4 today, I think.

Am knackered - gone from 27 hr a week job with no responsibility to 50+ hrs a week with too much responsibility and no help. Not sure how it happened but am not convinced it is best thing for me or DS. House shit tip but no time to tidy. Please send me more hours in the day.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/11/2009 20:21

Oh dear SB, can you change the situation?

How inconvenient of dd1 TF Hang on in there with the feeding frenzy

banana
blueberries
apple x2
satsuamas
squash
sweet pot
onion
raspberries

MayorNaze · 13/11/2009 10:58

hello

my my we all seem in need of a hug in here

sorry hve been distinctive in my absence - rl got in the way

f&v not so hot but have just done a whle hour of davina dvd (only interrupted by very polite jehovahs witnesses who told me to keep up the good work! the exercise that is...!) i have eaten a banana.

and that about sums it up.

going xmas shopping with dh and NO CHILDREN AT ALL in bath at weekend cannot wait, i love dh

{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}} to you all

MayorNaze · 13/11/2009 11:00

i am going shopping in bath, i mean.

my post seemed to indicate that there were no children currently in my bath. which of course is also nice. specially since as i am about to go and climb in there

TigerFeet · 13/11/2009 11:38

davina is gathering dust on my bookshelf
as is gaby logan
and a scary pilates woman

i am not doing well atm, 10/10 wise

off on holiday a week tomorrow, will resolve to do better on return

what happened with the job bunny? can you change it back?

hurrah for child free shopping mind you dd2 is no trouble, i just have problems avoiding the ankles of evil witchy little old ladies whilst steering her pram, not at all on purpose, oh no

mollyroger · 13/11/2009 12:36

tiger - you have special dispensation to eat crap carbs less fruit and veg and take less excercise for a while..

SB, eeek, I am struggling to adjust to an extra 5 hours work a week.
I don't know how you manage that! How is ds doing?

I am tentatively allowing myself a small fantasy of being able to start xmas shopping (and by that I really mean birthday shopping for my mum, dh and ds...) as we have been told the money we have been waiting for for 2 months may have been transferred today [relief]

SuperBunny · 13/11/2009 17:39

Hope it was transferred Molly

DS seems fine - he likes nursery and often wants to stay later anyway so it's not a big problem for him. I'm just feeling guilty and inadequate as a parent and guilty and inadequate at work.

1/2 piece broccoli
mango
bit of branston pickle
capers

mollyroger · 13/11/2009 17:48

oh mate
Take it easy on yourself and remember that ds will still be adjusting to all the new and exciting changes so probably won't need much external stimulus from you at the moment...IYKWIM.

We are having a takeaway tonight (which is a big deal in this house, when we've barely been able to afford the basics for 3 months...)

And I am feeling so happy and optimistic. And my mum gave me an early christmas present (cash!) to spent on ''fun'' and 2 old friends have come out of the woodwork, which I am ecstactic about, and..and....

TigerFeet · 13/11/2009 18:08

"I'm just feeling guilty and inadequate as a parent and guilty and inadequate at work."... i completely understand where you're coming frm there... cut yourself some slack, you can't do everything perfectly all the time. should take own adv ice really wine helps i find

moll you sound so chirpy and upbeat, long may it continue enjoy your takeaway

carrots x 2
peas
sweetcorn
apple
small pears x 2
banana

dd2 has followed up her feeding extravaganza with a fulsome farting and nappy filling day. babies do fart with gusto don't they? one of many things i had forgotten

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/11/2009 21:11

Baby Lemur just doesn't fart like he used to, it is a great source of disappointment in our house

Nice to see you Mayor

Stop beating yourself up Bunny, you are fab and don't forget that.

Am so so pleased for you Moll. You deserve a take away and some frivolity.

SuperBunny · 13/11/2009 21:27

Yes, wine. Sherry. Wine.

Farting here not so impressive either. But a source of great amusement to DS who sniggers every time he does one.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 14/11/2009 18:48

I thought you were talking about your own farting there Bunny

I feel knackered today and I think I'm getting another bloody cold.

I've also got some weird pulled muscle behind my boob that needs sorting out. It's been there since having Baby Lemur and it's slowly getting worse. It hurts when I sneeze or cough.

banana
grapes
cucumber
avocado
beans
smoothie

I need to get on the wagon. Maybe it will help keep the colds away

I will stop moaning now!
