Thought I would start this as the other one was getting really long.

Since I started the other thread I have lots a few pounds, put them back on, lost them etc etc etc. Finally realised that I need to do something about it after this last week of chocolate and crap, went out today for lunch and ate far too much.

On Monday I am going to Rosemary Conleys, i did go before but the time didn't really suit me, but this one finished and starts earlier so I can go when DH is at work while my mum has ds. So I am really going for it now.

Congrats on the ones who joined me last time and have actually managed to lose weight. Watch this space.....

hang on a minute! Let me clarify..... that was spread over a week, not all in one night. Even M2T couldn't drink 3 bottles in one night!

SamboM · 07/05/2003 21:42

Now there's a challenge

Rosiemum · 07/05/2003 22:57

Me checking in - weighing day was yesterday and I've lost another 2lb, making 11lb in total.

breeze · 08/05/2003 15:05

Well Diet still going okay, however tonight my friend is dragging me (kicking and screaming of course) to the pub for a meal and a few drinks. Megg

Just checking in. Weigh-in a bit sporadic due to DS illness over last few weeks.
Now lost a stone since first weigh in!

Mum2Toby · 08/05/2003 20:07

BRAVO ! Woozle!

dino55 · 08/05/2003 21:58

well done woozle on losing your stone. I would like to try the atkins diet, could anyone tell me anything about it. I would like to lose 16 pounds, ive tried weight watchers and just couldnt stick to it , weight loss was too slow, i feel like i need a quick boost to get me into it

woozle · 08/05/2003 22:51

I've changed to a "UK" version of Atkins by Charles Clark. Principles are the same - very low carb and high protein.

Basically no bread, potatoes, rice etc. (Clark diet does allow 1 slice wholemeal bread a day)
Nothing sweet - no fruit even (except on the Clark diet you can have 1 orange a day for vit c)
I eat lots of chicke, fish vegetables and salad, a few nuts, bacon, egg cheese etc

Drinking mainly water supplemented with tea for a treat and the occasional glass of wine!!

The theory is that the body will burn carbs first - if none available turns to fat burning - fab!

Clark is slightly more flexible that Atkins and seems to cater more for UK in terms of recipes etc

HTH

Rosiemum · 11/05/2003 22:18

Weight loss now 13lb and counting.... Just one more pound for that first stone.

Still a long way to go tho'! Sticking really well to Atkins and feel really good.

breeze · 12/05/2003 07:38

Well done to all those who have been losing weight. I finally have my weigh-in tonight after a 2 weeks weight, I hope to have lost at least a few pounds, but will have to wait and see.

Bummers. UP one pound this week, to 10st 13lb! And it's not even as if i was "bad" last week! - at least I could then have go to some pleasure out of it!

Still, hopefully this is just a blib and I will continue my slow and steady progress downwards.

megg · 12/05/2003 10:29

Amazingly I lost 2lb this week which I can only put down to the fitness regime I've got now. Although I wasn't too bad for 2/3rds of the time. Trouble is I really have to motivate myself to get back on track and do it properly so I can lose even more weight. Good luck for tonight Breeze.

breeze · 12/05/2003 11:43

megg, With the amount of crap I have eaten in the past week, I will need it

Mum2Toby · 13/05/2003 12:56

tip toes in<

Well done breeze.

SamboM - I just got my dose if summer steroids today for my asthma. Do you mind if I ask why you take them?

tip toes back out before anyone asks how I've done

breeze · 13/05/2003 13:29

Funny story goes with last nights RC session. For the work out we used resistance bands, well half-way through the exercise it slipped out of my hand and pinged the lady on the leg next to me, who let out a loud yelp. Its like a massive elastic band, needless to say she then proceeded to not so subtly move to the other end of the room.

I had my third weigh in yesterday and I lost 3lb, making it 1 stone in 3 weeks

SamboM · 13/05/2003 17:18
