For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Sorry it has become a saga!!!

Fran, they all (MIL, FIL and SIL) moved to USA about 16 yrs ago.

3 yrs ago they decided to move back, sil now is married and has 2 children.
It has taken them til now ot actually do it though for various reasons.
However, BIL is staying there for the time being (v odd). He has 2 other children and doesn't really want to move here (he is USA).

So the rest are moving here, SIL will live with ILs til her dh moves here.
They have all osld their houses over there at the smae time.

TooTicky · 03/05/2009 20:03

Some of them were divine, others will be divine when cooked.

LR, self preservation is very important.

littlerach · 03/05/2009 20:04

Well at least none of you think I ma mean and nasty or anyhting

100, that's actually quite a good wording to use.
I iwll see what MIL replies ot my queries and then use that.

I must warn you all, I iwll be wailing ofr weeks.

Oh, and they estimate that they will be here on 18th June.
I may hide in one of yuor bags at the meet!!!!

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:05

Thing is you are not being a nightmare because you actually CAN'T fit them in. They are used to the USA, they are used to huge houses and car ports and basements and all the rest. They have forgotten the squeeze. You must remind her.

mollyroger · 03/05/2009 20:07

god eyar, look up some short term rentals and offer up sunday dinner every now and again.....

littlerach · 03/05/2009 20:09

Yes, assertiveness and all.

But they will say, oh that's fine, we don't mind a squeeze.
And i iwll msile and say oh that's fine, through clenched teeth.
And then hiss at dh.
God, we will end up divorced over this

If it was school hols even, that would be beter as it wouldn't matter about sleep for girls etc. So they could all bunk in together or something.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2009 20:10

LOL at mean and nasty
i would leave dp before i allowed this to happen for ONE WEEK

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:12

WELL don't say 'it's fine' then.

Re-word the email. Say 'I can't figure out where you are going to go - even if we all say it's fine, we don't mind a squeeze. There's a difference between a squeeze and 2 people having to sleep in the garden, isn't there MIL? Har har har. It's not going to work. I'm going to check out some short term rentals for you. You can be here as much as you like - we'd all love that - but there just isn't room for you all to stay. Let's make a new plan.'

I'll tell her for you if you like. If you don't state your case Mrs, then you can't complain when they do move in.

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:12

Oh, LR, there is a remote possibilty that I may be back in the UK on the 18th of June. I'll come and stay with you, shall I?

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 20:12

Er, no way is what I would say, LittleR. It's completely absurd. I can't believe you have to consider it.

They must rent somewhere clearly, there are enough of them to share the rent.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2009 20:13

oh yes do what Anne says

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 20:16

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:18

Don't be a pasty patsy

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:19

Lovely painting, ahundred!

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:20

Thanks SB, thanks so much for noticing, really, it means a lot. Thanks so much.

mollyroger · 03/05/2009 20:20

what paiting? [dim]

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 20:23

Did you paint a chair?

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 20:24

And upholster it too?

Have you been watching Kirsty?

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:24

Fuckin hell.

I have painted a chair AND I have made a freaking cushion cover out of an old pillowcase. I have painted the downstairs toilet/utility room. I did that. ME. Painting. Things. Long hard work it was, think Cistine Chapel.

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:24

She painted her utility room. FFS, does nobody pay attention?

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:27

Thank you SB. Thank you. I am going to shower you in stickers, and then invite you into my utility room where I shall keep you for about three hours pointing out the tricky areas where I had to employ cunning, and INSISTING you compliment me every 3 seconds.

It'll be great. Then you can go round to LR's and move in with her relatives and leave meat products around.
