For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh yeah, she was going on about a chair, wasn't she?

She'll be changing her name to Anne Bunting Cupcake, before you know it, and opening a gorgeous little shop selling gorgeous second-hand crap rustic country chic objets and vintage old enamel plates post-ironic-retro-kitchenalia. And cupcakes.

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:29

Screw the cupcakes. but I love the retro post ironic business. I might call my shop that. I'd be dreadful at having a shop actually. I'd get so fed up with everyone coming in and asking me things.

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:32

Good plan, ahundred

ahundredtimes · 03/05/2009 20:39

I'm going to have haul my self-obsessed self off the sofa and go and put my children to bed. I shall say 'what do you think of the painting I did?' and they will say, 'we've TOLD you, it's fine, it's nice, well done, can I go to sleep now?'

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 20:46

I don't believe this. Dh has just left the stately pile WITHOUT the freakin dresser bcause it was so big he was worried about the old man's back lifting it onto the car. Grrrr.

And he has said that it would have been better to have paid less money for it which means it is shit and now he has wasted two hours and petrol money and still we haven't got it and the thought of what it looks like makes me feel sick. Apparently there is christmas wrapping paper on some of the shelves. He said this as if he thought it might amuse me.

pinkspottywellies · 03/05/2009 20:49

Love the Cistine Chapel 100. Good work.

LR do what Anne says. You can't possibly have them all to stay and if you do it by email now it'll be much easier than having a nervous breakdown face to face when they're living in your house! At least with emails you can take your time composing it too rather than blurting through clenched teeth that it's fine. And if you find yourself typing that it's fine just quickly come on here and we'll tell you that it's not ok.

Please can everyone say encouraging things about having 2 children and ex breastfeeding while I weep into my cornflakes. Then when I feel suitably soothed I will go and collapse into bed in an exhausted heap.

Thank you.

It's a good job I had orange, apple, raisins, kiwis, pear this morning cause all I had for the rest of the day was half a portion of salad. But we had a nice day - went to see friends who are camping and had a nice walk and bbq.

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:52

Pink, having not been in your situation, I can only look at you in awe as you manage 2 very small people and do BF and weep in your cornflakes.

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 20:53

Guad. I am sure it is very tasteful wrapping paper.

I miss Lully.

littlerach · 03/05/2009 20:55

Couse you can, SB, we'll all just squeeze in, shall we

Dh isn't impressed by my htoughts. He's talking re arranging furniture and god knows what.

Grrrr.

Right, will do Anne hting another day

You're all lovely veggers

Boco · 03/05/2009 20:56

Oh dear Guad. I"m sure with a bit of sandpapering and posh chalky paint in a french grey it'll be fine. Ask 100 - she's gone expert.

We have new shop in the village opened called 'painted country' where they take shit old furniture and paint it white and then make it look peeling and distressed and charge a farsand parnd for it. The old men from teh Handy Man shop come and laugh at the £58 vintage tin jugs and say 'we'll sell ya a jug for a fiver - and it's brand new!'

pinkspottywellies · 03/05/2009 20:58

Guad, when it's all painted and beautiful and the centrepiece of your beautiful kitchen, nay house and friends come from far and wide to admire your beautiful dresser, you will tell the hilarious story of how you paid more for it than you wanted and DH didn't get it the first time and there was wrapping paper on the shelves, and you will laugh and it will all be fine. And breathe

Guadalupe · 03/05/2009 21:05

He is nearly back. I just bit my tongue on a biscuit really hard and it made my eyes water and I think it might be a sign.

I think I might have PMT too but I won't know for sure. I am going to to rummage around all the wierd spirits and liquers and see if that helps.

mollyroger · 03/05/2009 21:07

oh boco, I knew you'd have such a shop. I was thinkingof your village when I described it
Thet and a shop in my town (which was featured in Red or Eve or something) where the 2 impossibly blonde and lithe mummies running it, popped over to France regularly to come back with more shit vintage itmes to paint distressed white and flog for £££££

Boco · 03/05/2009 21:13

Oh we have 3 now Moll! One of them, Green Door, spend half the week in France bringing back dressers and garden statues, and sell them the second half of the week. Then there's Tilting Sky that sells Cath Kidston china and bunting, now this new one that everyone just laughs at. It is a bit mad though, a wooden trug of the sort you could get in b&q for a fiver, painted with some paint from the Cannon and Ball range and marked up to £42. Was the weld coming to.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 03/05/2009 21:52

LilRach you CAN NOT let your IL's stay. There will be a murder and a mass falling out if you do. You don't have the room and they're not paying a mortgage, so they can afford to rent. They could be with you 6 months+!!!!!!!!

You can't go on the burial mounds at Sutton Hoo anymore, it's all roped off.

Well, when I say no processed food I mean no highly processed food I'm not going to be mega strict, but there won't be any crisps, sweets, choc, ice-cream, convenience foods etc. I'll make the bread, well the Panasonic will actually!, and if we have any cake it will be home made - if I can be arsed. But I would use things like ready hummous for example.

lol at cannon and ball paint

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2009 22:01

LOL at all
except pink weeping - pink you will make the cornflakes soggy
and why are you eating cornflakes anyway - you should be eating quinoa or raw beans or something

ds2 wouldn't go to sleep
we have taken turns having him on our laps and tutting at him, while he grins gummily
dp has just rocked him to sleep in the kitchen with the lights off i think

he has had a very nice day except for when i gave him cauliflower and he cried
ds2 that is not dp

SuperBunny · 03/05/2009 22:03

I was going to say that I know Cannon and Ball but I mean Chas & Dave

FrayedKnot · 03/05/2009 22:07

I agree with everyone, LR, you cannot have these people to stay AT ALL.

If they stay one night they will stay 6 months.

Compose e-mail saying

"Dear MIL, we have been thinking, and we just don;t think it's going to work, our space is so limited, so we have booked you into xxx B&B for 2 weeks and can arrnage appointments for you to see some rental properties if you like?"

That's it, no negotiation.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2009 22:07

oh dear he is in kitchen wailing a bit now
i wonder what is up
he bit me earlier, maybe another tooth coming?
we have big day out planned tomorrow oh dear do go to SLEEP ds

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 03/05/2009 22:17

Lolol at the sheep in the wheelchair, and the distressed paint jobs.

Pink I hope you are tucked up in bed by now.

I dread to think what I would have been like with two of the same age as yours and the BF etc. Probably living off crisps and going to bed at 7.30 pm every night.

FrayedKnot · 03/05/2009 22:19

Oh dear Franny...hope he settles down soon.

FrannyandZooey · 03/05/2009 22:35

he is asleep now
gawd i hope he doesn't make a habit of this
i am too lazy tired to do actual parenting in the evening as well as through the day and parts of the night

lemur this was on a guided tour kind of thing? they let you climb up the mounds

Pea & herb soup (2)
apple

seven, so far (including previously mentioned fruit)

littlerach · 04/05/2009 10:06

Did i mention how wonderful you all are

Well, I had other Thoughts last night
(after dh and i argued discussed the pros and cons for hours)
and remembered that dh has ot make and listen to lots of V Important phone calls when working from home, and often do conference calls.
Well, it would be hard to do this with a 5 year old and a 11 month old in the room next door, wouldn't it?

Dh says I am being too negative (um, yes, I know that!)

However, this morning he admitted that with hindisght it would be impossible to fit a double bed in his office, with his furniture still in there.

Hurrah!

But will he Tell Them?????

littlerach · 04/05/2009 10:07

PS, 100, love the painting, v nice indeed.
