For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lemur, you are doing very well. Does unprocessed mean no pasta? Coffee?

I used this recipe, LR but I did half and it made 12 miffins or so. They don't look very pretty and taste quite pruney but no complaints.I think the egg is unnecessary. Hope the drugs help. NEVER google.

Avi I have to work out what to do with my house. Another request for goat cheese muffin recipe, please.

Strawberries
peas
red pepper
raisins
banana

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/05/2009 18:40

Why thank you SB. I didn't think about pasta, but we don't have any on the menu this week anyway.

No tea or coffee. But no coffee is easy as I don't like it, and tea I only have one or two cups a day, but I do miss it.

We're not being mega strict tbh. We're using butter, milk, cheese, and sugar.

Just a few minutes ago I was thinking how much I would love a can of coke. I only have it about twice a week, but because I can't have it I want it

Franny, I would love to borrow the book please. How do you want to sort out the p&p cost?

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2009 19:02

i think it is v cool lemur and if i ever sort my life out a bit more i might join you

don't worry about p+p! i'll check if i have your address still

i have just started this and after reading the really beautiful, precisely written novel about Sutton Hoo, it is hurting a bit
if you've read it and it's crap, don't tell me
i really want to like it

Everyone seems to have read or are reading Twilight. I have no idea what it is about but the hype puts me off a bit.

Pointy have lots of good title suggestions. And I like sweet peas too but we should have a Eurovision one next.

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2009 19:09

awww i really thought mine was cool
we'll pick one of pointy's but can we have mine afterwards please?

OP posts:
SuperBunny · 13/05/2009 19:09

I don't understand the calabrese

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/05/2009 19:15

How do you all get these thread titles just popping into your head?! I have no imagination

I haven't read Twilight and I only heard of it because the film was released fairly recently . I think there are a series of books.

I have to say I have really had to get my shit together with planning meals etc. But I guess the more we do it the easier it will become. We have thought maybe we'll do it every other week. And I've never baked so much in my life, but I'm quite enjoying it.

pointydog · 13/05/2009 19:16

sultanas
orange juice
banana

Parentline saved my life today, thanks to whoever it was put the number on here.
There are times when as much as I love DS and ache for his situation I could really do with getting through a day without him exploding at the slightest thing, and NOT telling me I am an evil witch mother who deserves an Oscar for being the crappest mother in the world.

It is because he loves me,
It is because he loves me,
It is because he loves me........

God the soup was divine,

about 3 portions,
banana,
apple,
smoothie
copious amopunts of water
no exercise but flip, god dammit I am working hard.....

Avi, , it must be hard but you just have to draw a line sometimes.

Lemur, sounds challenging but will be interesting to see the results.

And LR, fingers crossed you get some relief soon.

Lots of ailing veggers, hope no-one is luking

My vote goes to Burning Calabrese although respec' to Pointy and TooT

Wombling so sorry to hear about your job. It's so difficult to find decent PT work unless, as you say, you have a job already and can request to go PT. I compromised with PT job which I am overqualified for and the pay is rubbish but better than nowt. IYSWIM. Not ideal.

I had a slight comedy moment earlier when the top of the cold bath tap fell off (it's done it loads of times before and actually needs replacing but DH usually fixes it back on) and DH is away, so had to contort myself to hold it on to stop the water gushing all over the place while ringing DH on mobile and trying to work out how to get downstairs to turn the water off without letting go of the top of the tap...

Luckily DS was fairly helpful and we sorted it

Am slightly damp tho'

Strawbs (3 portions)
Peaches (tinned) (2) ditto
A pear (1)
Small salad (1)
Pasta with asparagus, mushrooms, peas, leeks (3)

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/05/2009 20:56

Like the strawbs one a LOT pointy.

I am taking a biscuit fruit break.

I is tired now.

respec to your list molly...

about DD2 LR.

I am Taking. A. Week. Off.

and doing NOTHING.
Might potter and paint but I am ready for a break. Apart from christmas, I didn't take any time off last year and I am pooped. Am planning days of Lattes and floating airily watching everyone else being busy bees...
So if someone would kindly move to these parts we could do lunch or something.

I should do it when the DC's are on holiday but the little rascals fleece me of every penny when they are off.
