For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Avi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

at trampoline

LR and I are coming. We have tickets and everything.

TooTicky · 12/05/2009 23:01

Sorry about migraines.

SuperBunny · 13/05/2009 00:32

Avi, stressful stuff, by the sounds of it but I like the trampoline story.

How's SATS going, Moll?

Asparagus
Broccoli
Soupy veg
pineapple
banana & prune muffins - I am counting 3 as 1 portion since they are made of nothing but prunes and banana and flour.
Juice
Prune JuiceSeven I know we are usually only allowed 1 portion of juice but I think prune juice deserves a point of its own because it is vile. Or at least, I thought it would be but it was quite delicious. But anything that looks so unpleasant should be awarded a point.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/05/2009 08:18

Hmmm..despite their prolific use of profanities, the Hip-Hop/Rap crew actually address some relevant social issues in their unique way, their rhyming is jaw dropping and are IMO opinion an under-rated and V talented genre, who are moving away from the 'gangsta stereotype' and speak for a section of society that needs a voice, Missy Elliot gives a female balance. And Emimnem is a genius. Although obviously their chioice of language makes them inaccesible to a lot of folk.

Really Sorry about migraines Avi, They are miserable.

I am humming about the meet and so want to come. Might stow away in a southbound truck, or hitch, or cycle, or learn to fly.

Probably not but will do my best.

Wednesdays are another good day for me, I feel perky and energetic.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/05/2009 08:18

Do warm flannels work on blocked ducts franny?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/05/2009 09:04

I have just made a complete idjit of myself.

I was standing in the local shop, a few people in. Nobody new walked in and I got my money out to pay when I got an overwhelming sense of aftershave that I recognised, so, (heaven knows why), I smelt the £20 note that I was holding....

The guy behind the counter was umm... most amused and the more I laughed out of embarrassment the worse it got.....I couldn't explain myself and am still blushing at the incident. I want to hide...he is my neighbour and WILL NOT let me forget that one...

sigh..

TigerFeet · 13/05/2009 10:04

orange juice

sorry to hear of migranes and blocked ducts

not sure yet about the meet up. I went to London on Saturday and have been knackered ever since. Walking hurts. I dunno.

Do you usually go round sniffing the Bank of England's finest Mitsu?

DD is in our local paper today, doing singing at her singing group. She looks lovely. Am trying to find it online so I can show off you. Sometimes she even sings in tune, and doesn't mess about at the back . She was well behaved for the photographer though.

I'm here!

Day 3 on the unprocessed food week. Am doing ok. The headache has stopped. I don't crave sweet as much as I did, but I do still have sweet cravings, especially after I've eaten lunch and dinner.

I made (put the ingrediants in the breadmaker!) some olive and sundried tomato bread which is lush, and this afternoon Baby Lemur and me will make some watercress and goats cheese muffins. Baby Lemur is very good at wildly swinging a wooden spoon around in his little pudgy hand.

Or maybe I should make some sweet muffins?

No, no the watercress needs using up.

Ninjacat · 13/05/2009 13:54

Lettuce
Tomato
carrot
Cabbage
Pears and apples juiced by DP

Will be having asparagus and spinich for dinner

So that will be 7.

Hmmm wonder what else I can add...

Ninjacat · 13/05/2009 13:55

Oh I forgot the beetroot.

Just 2 to go then.

Need to get myself up and out next but weather is miserable.

littlerach · 13/05/2009 14:31

Crap weathe rhere.

SB, could i have the recipe for the muffins?

Raisins

mollyroger · 13/05/2009 16:48

lemur, are you blogging this? I want details, dammit. ( I know many of you glowy things probably have been eating pure unprocessed stuff for , like, ever. But Lemur seems to be 'normal' like me and I want to know how she is feeding the family...)
Are you cooking from sun up to sun down?
Favourtie things so far?
etc

mollyroger · 13/05/2009 16:48

And what about tea? How unprocessed are you going?

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 13/05/2009 17:05

I'm in your camp molly, feed what ever is quick and convenient... and 'cook' when I am not running around like a bluetailed thingy with a squillion and 2 things to do......

I used to be a cook as well....sigh.

I do goodish soups though.

I am right. I am not going to live the 'sniffing the £20 note incident down....,

'so why were you sniffing a £20 note?'

ermm.....

'g'wan, give this one a sniff...'

And I thought I had conquered blushing lol...

mollyroger · 13/05/2009 17:12

oh please someone post a recipe for goats cheese (and watercress) muffins/

Avi It sounds hellishly hard and unfair...

littlerach · 13/05/2009 17:13

Well GP has prescibed mebeverine.
It had no leaflet in so have googled and am not sure it is what I want ot take.
He also told me i oxculd have a presciption for loperamide but it is often cheaper over the counter. He says I could take it as preventative rather than a cure.
And i can take the both together.
And I can go back whenever I like
He also offered ot refer me to a dietrician if necessary in the future.

Anyone taken either of those before?

Avi, recipe for muffins?
New house? Whereabouts? Hoep you manage ot sell, it must be a stressful time.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 13/05/2009 17:39

goats cheese and watercress muffins recipe here The mixture is thicker than a sweet muffin, but it worked fine.

Is that for the IBS LR? I don't suffer from it, but a couple of friends and family do. Over the years they have found their trigger foods through trial and error, and that has helped them no end. However I'm sure you've probably already tried that.

How stressful Avi, I hope you get a buyer soon. Have you spoken to your Agent and asked their opinion on why it isn't selling? Houses round here are just starting to go up for sale and selling again. Hopefully it will be the same for you.

FrannyandZooey · 13/05/2009 17:46

avi that is chronic
please send me link to new house though

shitty day here

It's not as good as thechristmas one though. Ds's face was a picture when he watched that.
