For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I've never heard of sugar loaf pineapples

very creative listing, toot

banana
banana angel delight
strawberry
soup (2)
pineapple
salad

six. maybe 7. not poetic.

SuperBunny · 12/05/2009 03:56

Oh, and further to our previous discussion on the term 'salad', here is a recipe for Cookie Salad. It contains:

Angel Delight type stuff made with buttermilk
Frozen fake whipped cream
tinned pineapple
tinned mandarins
1/2 pack of biscuits

I might ask my greengrocer why they don't sell sugarloafs. It seems they come from Mexico and my greengrocers are Mexican. They also run the sushi bar cum pizza place next door.

Franny - have you checked to see if Ocado deliver in your area, cos they do to my sister.

littlerach · 12/05/2009 08:31

Hmm, sounds lovely, SB,

TF, I find if I stick to v plain carbs then my IBS ia fine, but every so often it gets bad when I ma on usual diet of brown bread and veg and fruit.
So I am on white bread for the last few days.
Also I think cheese aggrevates it

I have bookd GP appt for tomorrow to see if they can suggest anything for short term use.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 12/05/2009 08:33

crikey lemur

The on be being built near you is the biggest in the country, as my sister frequently tells me

My sis has only been having Ocado deliveries for the past couple of months.

All Waitrose deliveries in my area are now free, but I guess it's a countrywide thing.

I know too much about Waitrose

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 12/05/2009 12:08

It's day 2 in the non processed food house and Lemur keeps hearing the chocolate bar in the fridge talking to her and telling her to eat it.

TooTicky · 12/05/2009 12:25

LR is a star...she made me laugh, which was just what I needed.
I can't tell you what we talked about because I am Sworn To Secrecy

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 12/05/2009 13:24

Oh...I am going to guess on and write it on a piece of paper and see if I am right about LR..

Can we lock franny in the sticker cupboard distract franny and have a thread title that DOESN'T scan sometime?

A bit like..'I get a peas-full, lemon squeezy feeling'......

Hullo Toot.

I am still bouncy and perky, can I come to Tea and wind your children up?

H has agreed to split as amicably as possible, and we are starting to look at alternative properties..... Not easy around here but I feel oddly both sad and relieved. Feels weird. But am starting to feel like my old self from time to time.

Banana,
Tomato,
Raspberries,
peach,
smoothie,
juice,

A run but a bit asthma-ey with the blustery wind.

womblingalong · 12/05/2009 14:25

Shitola Veggers,

I am being made redundant, am cross and a bit upset TBH

I need a change anyway, but I have to work for £ so am scared about current job market.

Have been told by recruiters that it is unlikely I will get another PT role, and that I will have to look at salary expectations and relocation.

Feel a bit sick, I don't want to work FT, at least not until DS is 5, feel trapped.

AAAaarrrggghhhhh!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 12/05/2009 14:28

Oh bollox wombling....so sorry.

Boco · 12/05/2009 14:40

Oh no Wombling, sorry to hear that! What kind of work do you do? Are there other opportunities near where you live? That must be so worrying for you.

Ninjacat · 12/05/2009 14:41

Wombling that's awful.

Salad
Green Beans

That's it today but made it to eight yesterday.

Will keep trying.

Still no chocolate.

womblingalong · 12/05/2009 15:04

Thanks everyone,

I am a brand manager/product manager/marketing type person, just not a lot of PT roles in that area. Usually you work FT, and ask for PT when you have a baby etc, and as I already have babies, it's a bit more difficult IYKWIM.

littlerach · 12/05/2009 15:12

Wombling, that's no good.

TooT, you wait!!!

Mits, glad that you are sorting it out amicably. It will make it much easier I ma sure.

Delicious oat slice an donion nahji.
salad leaves
load sof tomatoes
pear

TooT, you know the oat slice I bought, any idea what is mafe from, or how ot make it? It was really lovely and oaty. Does your friend actually make them all?
How was your samosa?

It is so damned windy, dd2's door keeps banging and making me jump.

littlerach · 12/05/2009 15:12

Bugger, my typing is appaling.

Onion bhaji.

TigerFeet · 12/05/2009 16:23

Wombling that's truly crappy. Good luck with finding something suitable.

Sounds like you're making progress Mitsu, I hope you continue to feel better.

LR I think I may have to stick to hte all carb diet if it keeps the IBS calm

Fruit salad (2)

mollyroger · 12/05/2009 17:03

Darling Womble. the twts, how dare they make you redundant!
Can you not forge a new career on shopping tv channels....?

So sorry, hope something comes up.

ds1 is baking and has just announced ''don't touch the tray mum, it's hotter than a hooker's pants''

TooTicky · 12/05/2009 17:16

Oh {{{{{Wombling}}}}}
They are fools!!

Sorry LR, couldn't resist...

Molly where did he get that from?

pointydog · 12/05/2009 17:17

Punnet on A String by Sandy Slaw

Corngrapeulations by Whiff BeetChard

Grating Your Rind Up by, er, Buck's Fizz (oj content after all)

or alternatively

Shaking Your Limes Up

pointydog · 12/05/2009 17:19

mollyroger · 12/05/2009 17:26

pointydog · 12/05/2009 17:31

It took me 15 minutes in teh car on the way to work this morning to come up with those song titles. My brain was aching.
