For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh hello mango and lemur

TooTicky · 27/03/2009 08:07

Oh god, does it matter if you accidentally boil eggs for almost 20 minutes? Ds1 did say well boiled...

mangolassi · 27/03/2009 08:15

20 mins = well boiled, no worries. Didn't think you did eggs though.

Breathing while wearing jeans vastly overrated.

TooTicky · 27/03/2009 08:16

I don't do eggs for me

mangolassi · 27/03/2009 08:21

Are dc's veggie?

TooTicky · 27/03/2009 08:28

dd1 veggie/vegan, depending on mood
ds1 not veggie
ds2 not veggie
dd2 no longer veggie

but seeing as I do all the cooking, they eat veggie meals

mangolassi · 27/03/2009 08:32

Interesting, so they're veggie at home. My really strict veggie (but not vegan) friend has 2 dogs. Dogs here eat rice plus meat, so she ends up cooking chicken most nights.I'd hate that if I was veggie, I think.

Hi Toot and Mango.

Funnily enough, I also managed to really hard boil an egg this morning. 15 minutes instead of 10, but it will be fine, things like that are a common occurrence in this house!

I was getting all organised for Baby Lemur's lunch as we are out this morning, and totally forgot it was boiling away on the hob Pregnancy and children defo deplete the old grey matter.

mangolassi · 27/03/2009 08:43

At least you remembered before you left the house

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/03/2009 08:59

If I breathe in with jeans on they are likely to fall down .

Hello... Lemur, Toot and Mango.

Lol at poker playing DC's.

Hope things are ok with Stuffit.

Dd had rough night, up for hours, and the coughing is making her sick - moving all drawings onto higher ground as we had near miss on something I was painting! Taking her to GP this morning. But sent dd1 back to school for own sanity. Think i'm getting it too but coudl be lack of sleep. Franny I have a lot of sympathy, how do you not cry all the time? I have that rising panic from not sleeping.

It's that Bbbee lady's birthday today, happy birthday! x

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/03/2009 09:47

Oh Boco......

TigerFeet · 27/03/2009 09:52

Hope families Boco and Stuffit are soon on the mend

Happy birthday BBeee

Breathing/eating are not requirements for sustaining life. Wearing smaller jeans is however essential

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/03/2009 10:49

I think I've just (finally) realised who the warrioress is

Happt birthday BBBee, what are you up to? Anything special?

Poor family Boco, that sounds rough. I hope you all feel better soon.

Aren't maternity trousers just the most awful thing ever?! How's it going TF?

moring. The every colour phlegm has decided to settle on my chest, but is still seeping through notrils at every opportunity.

If any veggers have ever given me their mobile number and would still like me to have their mobile number, you may have to text me (same number) as I have had to get a new sim card and have no-one's number at all! But if you DO text me, please put your name in somewhere so i know who it is.

Yesterdy: clementine, pineapple, grapes, banana, veggie soup, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, olives, carrot, cucumber. Wow. More than 10!

Today, er toast.

The DC have a historic fashion show at school. I am slightly embarrased that I have mananged to provide enough hippy gear for 5 different children! (not from current wardrobe, I hasten to add!)

Guadalupe · 27/03/2009 12:24

Happy Birthday, Bbbee!!

Have a champagne cocktail and some cake.

stuffitllama · 27/03/2009 14:08

Boco.. sounds absolutely dreadful..sending you wishes for dd to get better and fast. She must be so distressed. HOw did it go at the doctor?

Get well soon Molly. Can you do proper Country Bob type hacking

Jeans news good. Breathe with your chest but don't wear them to choir practice I think.

Ds2 is not well but not dengue. Severe throat infection, tonsillitis and and a bit of other respiratory tract stuff. He is very quiet. Dh insists on being Daddy Doctor because he thinks I will cheat on the abs and the calpol.

stuffitllama · 27/03/2009 14:14

thankyou mango for help earlier, i hadn't thougth to look for a rash

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/03/2009 14:26

Happy Birthday BBBee!!

Another poorly DS - stuffit....sounds trying...

Wouldn't a warm weekend be good for poorly DC's?

And molly...the illustration on FB was inspiring. Hope you perk up soon.

I have worked my bits off this week, and am ironing in my sleep.

Tatties · 27/03/2009 14:27

Boco and Stuffit lots of get well vibes to your children. And Molly too, hope you feel better soon.

TooT and MoveIt my ds asked for a boiled egg this morning too!

I made some roast sweet potato chips last night and they were a hit! Hooray

Tatties · 27/03/2009 14:28

Oh and Happy Birthday Bbbee!

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 27/03/2009 14:28

TF.... You are excused from jeans thingy but it might be a good idea to eat/breathe for the mo.

Boco · 27/03/2009 15:18

Stuffit that's what dd1 had, tonsillitis and a nasty cough, it's surprising how ill it can make them. I know antibiotics not great generally, but when they're really needed they are great.

Good news from dr, it's croup rather than pneumonia, so just steroids. I think i'm getting what they've had though, my back is aching and feel freezing and hot. What can you take to make it go away? Not interested in vinegar or fancy honey, i want industrial strength drugs!
