For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Welcome Chairmum, the frittata sounds lush.

I think I may have got a bit excited and put a bit of a spin on Meerkat Manor but I would say it is suitable for children.

Glad you liked the seeds At least you will be able to sow something if you haven't had the chance to get anything else!

Fran
Really?

I think I went through a phase of wanting to be a "dancer" when I first saw Flashdance

Meercat Manor was v good actually, I like it a lot, so did dd2.

TooT's hair is even nicer in rl. It really looks lovely.

Guadalupe · 26/03/2009 12:47

That's because you is too cultured, reading Salinger while the rest of us longed to carry watermelons. Actually, I wanted to be the thin blonde one that got in trouble.

I haven't seen Flashdance though. I don't actually know what that is. Must have been out when I was reading Dostoyevsky.

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2009 12:55

i want to see it now
i thought they were both 80s dancing films, i thought they might be similar
i have seen fame and rocky horror
but still am dimbo i expect

Boco · 26/03/2009 12:58

Flashdance was excellent - she was a welding tomboy lady with massive hair.

Did you watch any of the flying conchords yet franny? There's an episode where brett does a billy elliot style angry dance, it's very good. I might start expressing anger through the medium of dance.

mollyroger · 26/03/2009 13:01

I have never seen Dirty Dancing. I am Allergic to That Song.
it makes me projectile vomit.

I favoured Pretty In Pink as an 80s film. Not so much dancing (er, possibly none) but fabulous soundtrack and has Cyndi Lauper looking beautiful!

Tatties · 26/03/2009 13:27

I love Pretty in Pink. One of my favourites

Guadalupe · 26/03/2009 13:30

Never seen that either.

Tatties · 26/03/2009 13:35

Oh it is fantastic

stuffitllama · 26/03/2009 14:15

oh I'm missing fun about old films

gah

it's bathtime

BBBee · 26/03/2009 14:43

I have a potatoe. What can I do with it?

Franny - oh watch flight of the conchords - I know you will heart it - it is very funny.

best thing is me and boco fancy seperate ones adn you can have the casting vote on sexiness.

Tatties · 26/03/2009 14:47

Conchords popular in this house too

ChairmumMiaow · 26/03/2009 15:11

Ahh pretty in pink. I may have to force DH to sort out DVD viewing on our odd computer/tv setup so I can watch it

I have also just been out to buy as much fruit as the scrapings of my weekly budget will allow. DS likes the new regime as he ate a whole mini melon/blueberry pot on the way home (most of the fruit is not packaged)

littlerach · 26/03/2009 15:26

Yes, Pretty in Pink.
And The Breakfast Club and St Elmo's Fire.
And a one about Candles??

I have them all on video

And Ferris Bueller's Day off. I watched that over Xmas on some obscure channel.

I keep forgetting to buy carrots. I went to 2 shops this afternoon, and had to drive back to one of them.
Then I got home and put them away and we already had a bag half full

Carrots for dinner then.

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2009 15:59

oh i do like pretty in pink, except naff ending, and breakfast club really excellent

haven't watched them boco sorry am crap

Guadalupe · 26/03/2009 16:15

Ds1 loves Ferris Bueller, he rolls around wetting hmself over it. Just his humour.

I am going to another auction house n a minute, seem to spend my whole time squeezing through wooden cabinets and poking old radiators atm.

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2009 16:17

i have childminder
am making stew
have been to greengrocers and fancy dress shop - v entertaining
and v 10 / 10 come to think of it

stuffitllama · 26/03/2009 16:55

have eaten pineapple, grapes guava juice erm that's it

flashdance is awful but I liked it, and I sentimentally youtubed flashdance, top gun and fame last week

the dancer in flashdance has an incredibly athletic body

never seen dirty dancing either

i watched cinema paradiso on the plane, who loves that?

Guadalupe · 26/03/2009 17:39

I love that.

Guadalupe · 26/03/2009 17:43

Did you like Malena? I loved that too though I was fairly horrified by it. She was so beautiful.

stuffitllama · 26/03/2009 17:50

I haven't seen it but I just youtubed a clip

yes -- very beautiful

do you remember the huge craze for east Asian-linked films in the nineties? in the way that Bollywood is The Thing now

Wedding Banquet, Scent of green papaya, indochine, lots of chinese foodie films I seem to remember. Used to go and see them at that arthouse place in Clapham

FrannyandZooey · 26/03/2009 19:04

i haven't seen any of those, or in fact anything
last film i saw in cinema was juno i think
