For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

pinkspottywellies · 06/04/2009 08:36

me and DS appear to have conjunctivitis He also has a stinking cold and DD has been up in the night coughing. Poor little deaf scabby snotty man Going to the docs later now that we have a list of ailments!

Grapes. Not enough for a whole portion yet

Sorry to hear about ds2's bottom Fran. Are you still trying all sorts of things or just sticking with one?

littlerach · 06/04/2009 08:50

oh poor Boco
Do get well soon.

Both dds have coughs, snotty noses and sore throats. Dd1 is supposed to be on a fun day tomorrow so I am hoping she improves today.

WE are off to Avebury to do the easter Egg trail today.

pinkspottywellies · 06/04/2009 08:57

Boco. Make sure you keep resting as much as you can. Glad you're on the mend though.

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 06/04/2009 09:35

Happy Birthday to wee tatties! xxxxxxx

Boco, you poor thing x

Guadalupe · 06/04/2009 10:19

Happy birthday, small tatty.

Pink - I found bm quite useful and also euphrasia tincture. You can take it and supposedly it gets to him.

I dropped the cake. I tried to take it out of the tin too soon and dropped it and it broke into lots of pieces. Have done cake surgery with the marzipan and spread the top a little thinner. I also put twleve balls on by mistake, forgot Jesus wasn't there so I ate him. I love marzipan.

littlerach · 06/04/2009 10:24

at Guad and the marzipan.

My friend lives resonably close ot the earthquake in Italy and I am slightly fretting about her.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/04/2009 13:08

I hope you start to feel a bit more human soon Boco.

Happy birthday Tatty Jnr

What a nightmare with the Simnel cake I was looking at Queen Delia's recipe and she puts in cubes of marzipan in her cake mix. Oh I love marzipan.

Baby Lemur is not a happy bunny today. Over the past few days he has been grizzling quite a lot and it seems to have climaxed today. AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH. I took him to the Cranial Osteopath today (just for a general check-up) and of course he was sweetness itself for her!! His nose hasn't stopped running since we came back from seeing her though, I think she's unlocked a river of snot Xmas Shock

Thank you for wee Tatties birthday wishes

Cake was a success I think

Hope baby Lemur and baby Pink feeling better soon

SuperBunny · 06/04/2009 14:26

Hope Boco is better.

Sorry about cake, Guad.

Isn't Simnel cake meant to have 13 balls on top?

Guadalupe · 06/04/2009 14:36

Is it? Is that Jesus plus Judas then? My recipe says eleven balls but it is quite an old Reader's Digest one.

Guadalupe · 06/04/2009 14:44

Nope, eleven true disciples, eleven balls it says here.

I suppose we are supposed to wait until next weekend to eat it. It smells very nice. You can't tell it was broken now that it's patched up but someone will get odd slices with marzipan rivers through it.

I had a sort of fattoush on crackers for lunch. It's very healthy. I ate loads.

TooTicky · 06/04/2009 14:52

What is fattoush?

Guadalupe · 06/04/2009 15:01

I got the recipe off NQC ages ago, chop tomatoes, onions and cucumber and herbs up with lemon and spices, sumac if you have it, cinnamon, salt pepper olive oil and eat with pittas. I had it with ryvita.

TooTicky · 06/04/2009 15:13

Ooh that sounds nice.

TooTicky · 06/04/2009 15:13

Sumac as in the tree?

Guadalupe · 06/04/2009 15:37

I don't know, I haven't used it but I think it's a sour spice?

littlerach · 06/04/2009 16:41

That sounds delicious Guad.

We have been ti Avebury.
It was v v windy.
Lots of sheep.
Easter egg hunt was good, both won proper choc eggs.
And did crafts for easter tree.
