For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh just briefly, cos I know you are just longing for more of dd2's genius...
She went to the church with playgroup t'other day and came back inspired

Dd2: Jesus died in 20 months. That's sad, isn't it?

Me: Yes it is sad. Did he come back to life?

Dd2: No. Well, the old lady in the church said he did, but in my version he doesn't. All his friends cried. They cried all the way home. They even cried in their dinner.

littlerach · 01/04/2009 19:39

Yes, 100s idea is good.

Dd1 is going on a camp in May and she is so excited. I, however, am fraught alreday as she has never been away for more than one night and this is 3.
Dd2 is also looking forward to it, as she will be an only child ofr a weekend

The fish died this evening. dd2 was distraught and wanted to keep looking at it. Some sweets made it better

And they won their easter eggs back at the tombola at school

Food?
Banaan
banan chips
broccoli
carrots
swwetcorn.

Oh, and a Butternut and pepper Higgidy Pie it was divine.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 19:43

Oh yes, 100x is always fab.

Sorry about the fish Are you having a funeral?

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 19:43

Toot's DD - I had this a bit at school, not gettng stick as such but feeling very conscious that everyone else seem to and when people asked why I didn't shave my legs in the queue for the high jump, I would shrug and say, well, I am not allowed to, which was true, and then I would jump higher than everyone else and walk off with my nose in the air.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 19:45

Helo Guad

Heloo Franny
hello SB

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 19:46

Guad, dd1 says she can't do high jump....

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 19:48

Well, insert appropriate skill where necessary!

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 19:58

The nose in the air is a fairly good skill in itself. Indifference is a fairly good plug for persistent griping, even if they do have to parp out the odd comment now and then to save their own face.

I was on my way to the shop in the village (10 minute walk) and an old lady was coming the other way and stopped and asked if she could get a taxi anywhere! 'Not that I can think of' I said and noticing her heavy bag of shopping said 'have you got far to go?' She told me where she lived and it turned out it was the far end of my street but she really didn't look like she'd make it that far so I said I'd bring it for her on my way home! She said yes and I took it to put in the bottom of my pram - good god it was heavy!! I wouldn't fancy carrying it home but she was really quite frail! So off I went with her shopping in the opposite direction, got my bread and biscuits from the shop and took her shopping to her house (which was only a bit out of my way)

I've been using the double buggy lately but don't like not being able to talk to dd which is why I used the carrier and the old pram today. It was the old lady's lucky day cause I wouldn't have been able to fit it in the basket under the double! (Well I probably would've managed but not so easily.)

So good deed for the day - check!

TooT if I can think of a further acerbic comment to add to the mix I will post later!!!

pinkspottywellies · 01/04/2009 20:24

Oh I see. My friend just does a slightly different tie. I thought you weren't meant to have them hanging by the crotch? Or is it different cause they're supported round the back too? Anyway, is yours black did you say Franny? And do you not need it any more? And yes please! Do you want to e-mail me with postage cost and I'll paypal/bank transfer, and send it back when I've finished of course

Guad, I like the 'jump higher than them'!!

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 20:27

Guad, regretfully, I feel that solving an equation in double quick time and walking off with her nose in the air wouldn't have quite the same effect.
however, she is working on her running...

Pink, you are a star!!

hello FK

Dd1 and I off out for a run in a mo

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2009 20:41

pink they should be in frog style position with knees higher than bum - you'll see. it's not like baby bjorn hanging from crotch. i can't use it with ds2 now as the stretchy wraps are too stretchy - i have a woven one now, but this one is best to start with. it's black yes - i'd like it back, but you are welcome to it for now - ime they get heavy pretty quickly in a stretchy wrap, if you are wearing for long periods - so i would expect you to only need for a few months. i'll bung in post when i get time - no worries about postage

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 20:41

You mean she is good at maths?

Well, that is very good. Doesn't impress the shiny pitted snipers but still, it's impressive, and running very good too. Shrugging always off-putting for those looking for a reaction. How is she at hockey?

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2009 20:42

i agree toot, the sooner she can begin, or at least affect not to care what the devil other people say, the better
it is tough but it is a great life skill

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 01/04/2009 20:53

Anyone got any ideas for a cheap, easy animal-themed fancy dress costume for me?

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 20:59

Maths, hell yes. Anything academic really. But sport is where the popularity lies
She did slap a boy t'other day though. Apparently he went off, then came back rather less mouthy.
He did deserve it though.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 21:01

I thought you were queen of costumes Molly...

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2009 21:03

molly i have bunny ears, tail and feet?

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 21:04

LOL, she sounds like me. I slapped Andrew Lansdale round the face in the first month of high school and they gave me grief for years. Never regretted it though. He was a prick.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 21:05

She says she is okay at hockey but nobody passes to her.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 21:06

You kept those well covered at the meet up Franny.

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 21:07

Whoops, hope he doesn't google himself. Andrew , if you read this you were a prick. But I suspect you may have been nice if you hadn't been influenced by your uglier but more cunning and insidious sidekick Darren Sutton.
