For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Um...depends how thick it is I suppose. I think you can speed it up with a hairdryer.

FrayedKnot · 31/03/2009 22:45

You are a genius with that dongle

TooTicky · 31/03/2009 22:56

I was obviously a dongle short of a dingle. No stopping me now.

SuperBunny · 01/04/2009 00:52

Oh Pink, how sweet of you to remember. A lovely friend sent DS a santa apron for christmas. He looks a bit daft in it in March but he is happy so I think we're ok for now. I never managed to find one though.

I love the term normoes. I am probably only one of them today.

I want a dog. I have dog envy.

I weep at small children singing and doing plays too Lemur.

What are you making, FK? And why are you papier macheing now, long after DS's bedtime?

ChairmumMiaow · 01/04/2009 09:13

ILTMIMI - I teared up at my niece's nativity, and I hate the things!

Molly - we always had rescue dogs but nobody would let us have one with our DS so we ended up buying a puppy (which we said we'd never do). He and DS get on fine and we knew we'd be ok as the dog was always going to go to work with DH!

TigerFeet · 01/04/2009 10:49

Another one here who cries at small children's productions

I am feeling odd today, v light headed. I have to go for a blood test later. I need a slice of cake banana or something.

Apparently celery is good for oedema, and also good for 10/10ing, so I will get some when I go shopping later.

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 01/04/2009 10:57

It will be a rescue dog - but from a lurcher/greyhound place.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 01/04/2009 13:55

Results in a couple of weeks so I assume all is not urgent, further details, I fear would involve TMI, but I would like to go to bed and hide under the duvet for a considerable amount of time,

So a donut and a lemon muffin...(dry lol).
Thank you for all the support.....

Hugs and vibes are yours though now LR, for your appointment later on.

at Molly's dog, but not wanting one.

What a fabulous day though.

littlerach · 01/04/2009 15:46

Mmm, lemon muffin.

Dds have had easter egg tombola at school today. It was so manic and qute terrifying.

Glad it was ok mitsubishi. Well, as ok as poss!

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 16:52

LR,have I missed something? Hope you are okay...

Love to everybody, too tired to catch up.

Ds2 and I left the house at half 6 for hosp appt. All well.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 17:02

Dd1 would appreciate some advice. She is getting a lot of stick at school for not shaving her legs and armpits. She doesn't actually want to shave them yet (she is only 12) but obviously doesn't want hassle from idiots.
Any ideas?

MollyRogerslikeanEasterabbit · 01/04/2009 17:49

tell them she is holding off shaving as long as possible as shaving actually encourages hair to grow back blacker and thicker....

Or tell them that shaving your legs encourages the hair to grow lushly on nipples instead...mwwwah hahahahahaaa!

SuperBunny · 01/04/2009 17:54

Um, it's her body and so none of their business - why are they worrying about what someone else is or isn't doing? Teenage girls can be mean Here, people teach their children to say, "My body, my choice" - even the 3 year olds will say that if they don't want to be hugged or touched or something but I think it applies here too.

I like Molly's response.

TooTicky · 01/04/2009 18:07

Thanks both of you. Dd1 is reading with interest.

pinkspottywellies · 01/04/2009 18:13

I like Molly's second idea I don't like nasty teenage girls who think it's thier business

Glad he's got an apron now SB. Brilliant weeing news Franny. Hope you're not going to worry yourself sick til you get the results Mitsubishi. Like you say if it was that serious it would be sooner. I don't think I'd cry at nativities (except my own children ) except if they were murdering the songs horribly and I thought it was awful

Hi Wombling and Polly!

I think ds is going the way of dd as regards pooing- it's been about 4 days and he's just done one Marvellous when you're washing nappies!

I have discovered the Moby sling! I tried my friend's on the other day. Aren't they marvellous! I had a pouch sling but ds seems to want to be upright (usually when I'm trying to get ready and go out!) Took ds out in baby bjorn type baby carrier (I know I know, bad for his hips and my back blah blah but haven't got another at the mo and don't like how dd is so far away in the double buggy and I can't see her) and dd in her original pram (facing me). It seemed so light to push (even though the double is fab) so definitely going to get a wrap sling. Anyone know where's best to get them - or selling one?!

Just had split pea and frankfurter soup (Nigella) for dinner. I assume split peas count? So about 3 portions. Grapes, apricots, plum, peanut butter , raisins. Will have my spatone in some juice later and more fruit.

ahundredtimes · 01/04/2009 18:22

Am popping in to say hello, have been lured back by PW's presence at the G20. Haven't read thread, sorry, just last few posts.

DD1 - I think standard response is a very straight and level stare - you will do this well - and 'Oh but if you do it too early then they grow back thicker and darker, so it's not good to start early, otherwise you'll look like a chimp by the time you're 15 and you will have to shave like EVERY HOUR didn't you know that?' and then one slightly raised eyebrow and PRONOUNCED staring at the legs of the person who said it to you.

Other good one to have up your sleeve is 'your point being? - this v. useful for all kinds of situations.

Love to fruiters. Will read thread one day.

pinkspottywellies · 01/04/2009 19:07

I carried an old lady's shopping today. Hang on just getting ds then I'll elaborate!

SuperBunny · 01/04/2009 19:25

Pink! Out and about with a newborn and a toddler and helping old ladies with their shopping. Wow!

SuperBunny · 01/04/2009 19:26

Why is it such a big deal to remove hair in the UK? Why do Europeans not fret about it?

FrannyandZooey · 01/04/2009 19:28

pink you can borrow my hug a bub if you like? it is black stretchy wrap - not exactly same as closer but v similar

Guadalupe · 01/04/2009 19:32

Good luck with your results, Atilla. And to you, LittleR.

I have just stuffed my face with steak and garlic mushrooms and wine and chocolate and and gin and a toffee bar and made a chickpea salad today with a whole tin and I have eaten the lot and am very bloated.

I think I am probably pre-menstrual, but of course, I have no bleeding way of knowing this.

I am watching Freaky Eaters and ths boy only eats Yorkshire puddinhs and only whle he is on the computer. Weird.
