For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh forgot to say, I can add a further 3 portions to my f&v count (Chickpeas and 2 portions -at least- of pineapple)

mollyroger · 25/01/2009 12:38

Maurice - are you normally to be found hefting instruments around? Or are you green?

Guadalupe · 25/01/2009 12:39

Hellooo, maurice.

I am stripping chicken too but into strips for Jamie's garlic chicken.

I have discovered that blending cream crackers and garlic and butter and parsley is not easy without a food processor.

Guadalupe · 25/01/2009 12:41

I am a fire snake and a scorpio so doubly horrible.

TooTicky · 25/01/2009 12:44

No, maurice has no instruments and isn't green. The haggis should give it away.

mollyroger · 25/01/2009 13:10

TinyWhiteFeather · 25/01/2009 13:36

Oh, Lemur.....you really didn't put your foot in it and I hope I didn't make you feel bad. I am so, so sorry.
I get dreadfully self-conscious moaning about my family life and try not to do it but sometimes it wells up and letting of steam helps so much in dealing with it.
Everybodies support is so lovely and I get choked up sometimes. I don't do it much in RL and don't like going on the wider MN cos I have been flamed for being a crap Mum.
I hope you read this soon, because I think you are lovely and hate to think there might be a misunderstanding.
And I apoplogise for giving you the wrong impression........

TinyWhiteFeather · 25/01/2009 13:37

If you change threads anybody before lemur comes back on, could you ask her to check back and read this please?, I would appreciate it.

littlerach · 25/01/2009 13:39
