For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No, just head of year and school attendance officer.

BBBee · 25/01/2009 01:35

Dear Attendance officer thingy

RE: Your letter

thank you for your letter dated XXXXX following our meeting of XXXX.

In this letter you stipulate a number of conditions with regfard to my daughters attendance at school. I was under the impression taht the meeting of the XXX was to discuss this issue and come to some mutually agreed arrangement. What you have stated in your letter is not my percpetion of what was discussed at that meeting.

If we are to put together some conditions I feel that it would be helpful and meaningful to all parties that we get together and discuss these. If this is not the case it will render our meeting of the XXXX meaningless.

Love
Toot

OR

do nothing and get on with it.

BBBee · 25/01/2009 01:36

(but IMO they have had the meeting and sent the letter to cover thier backs and tick boxes. a letter in response is what I would do)

SuperBunny · 25/01/2009 01:51

I agree re a letter. If you don't respond, it might look like they contacted you and you don't care/ aren't interested.

I do think you should detail what you perceived to be the outcome of the meeting and how the important thing is that you are all in agreement on the best way to help DD1. Which means that you need to agree something in the meeting and them not send out a letter saying something else afterwards. I'm surprised they haven't tried to do a home-school contract thing where the teachers, you and DD sign to show that you all have some sort of commitment.

Has the EWO been involved?

Thanks Bee. I love the way you finished it Love TooT. I was thinking more along the lines of Piss Off You Bastards. Possibly unwise though.
Thing is, I had been considering asking for meeting with form tutor (totally lovely) and head of year (who I have now lost faith in) to discuss poss aspergers issues and see whether it is worth pursuing in any way, or whether just a little awareness all round might help.
But I don't feel so much like it now. Don't know don't know don't know.

Small bile-filled letter to one of F's English teachers I think though - she keeps getting her name wrong and calling her the name of the brat child who caused all the problems in primary school. Must be stopped.

On a brighter note, had her school report through the post and the only teacher who has requested a meeting is her maths teacher - the subject at which dd1 excels beyond all else so not anticipating anything too dreadful

Good morning.

TooTicky · 25/01/2009 08:11

No, EWO not involved afaik. Only been very recently raised as an issue.

Guadalupe · 25/01/2009 08:50

I think Bee's letter is good, Toot. Sounds like they're being very awkward.

I am in bed. I don't think I have ever mnetted from bed before but it is very cosy except for not being able to breath through my nose. I have tea and I can hear dh loadiing the dishwasher. Now all I need is a tray with some marmalade on toast and a flower in a jar but I thnk that might be a bit optimistic.

TooTicky · 25/01/2009 09:14

Would fruit spread do Guad? Morello cherry? Don't have marmalade.
Not sure I can manage a flower though, couldn't bring myself to snaffle an early snowdrop. Or a primrose. You'll have to have a paper one.
There.

Guadalupe · 25/01/2009 09:20

Why thank you. The primrose are sweet aren't they? There's a lonely one in our garden waving in the wind and cold. I feel like bringing it in but it must suffer tough love.

littlerach · 25/01/2009 09:52

I htink all local schools have a problem with attendance, TooT, and they have to prove that they are Doing Soemthing About It.

I think a response of some sort is required, Bbbeees is good. Also, a letter to Form tutor, re issues, and an aside ot Hated engleish teacher a good idea. You could cc in the Pastoral person also? may get further with non teaching staff? Are they aware that you HEd last year, and the reasons behind this?

I sometimes MN from bed - it isthe height of luxury.

I haven't actually watched Victorian House, but my friend has and thoght I'd like it. Will try it!!!

FB ed you, TooT, re tomorrow.

mollyroger · 25/01/2009 10:01

morning toot. Gah to school. Just gah!
BBees letter is good though.
I can barely type, my arms areso stiff from yesterday's epic gardening.

What to do todsy? Not ncey weather. Boys are in crackling bath but are disappointed at no colour.

Guadalupe · 25/01/2009 10:24

We haven't used ours yet. They got theirs in stocking so it's probably still stuffed under the bed somewhere along with a chocolate coin wrapper.

mollyroger · 25/01/2009 10:28

I didn't realise it was even close. They usually make stuff at school.

I started to watch that Jane Campion film In the Cut, last night but I was too tired. Is it any good? I recorded it just in case.
