For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

We have mucho coke in our house (for dh and I have it every now and then). We also have Diet Coke for visitors.

My niece (6) was round on Sunday and saw the Diet Coke and had a complete meltdown when her mum said she couldn't have any. She was allowed 1/2 can of full fat, but the marketing ploy had worked and she wanted Diet Coke. I tried to tell her diet coke tastes nasty, but she wasn't having any of it. It was quite funny seeing someone having a strop over wanting diet coke but only being allowed full fat!

I think margarine should be added to the list of no no's. The stuff is the devils shit.

Oh, get me. I'm new to this thread and making rules already

SuperBunny · 06/01/2009 19:11

Toot, please don't lose any more. You will waste away and I will miss you terribly.

dooneygirl · 06/01/2009 19:14

That's why I said milk.

I'm off. Someone is trying to recruit me into some sort of Mary Kay like MLM scheme. Have to go do research to show her why there's no way I'd touch it with a ten foot pole.

SuperBunny · 06/01/2009 19:15

LOL @ lemur

I am not a fan of marg other than the good vegan one which isn't like the slimy other stuff

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/01/2009 19:15

How on earth did you manage to lose a stone over christmas, you must be a Saint?

DH has also put on weight over christmas and is becoming inspired by my 10/10. He has been slim all of his life, and he still is but he's complaining about his belly. However I have told him he is not allowed in our yurt, or was it a village hall? I can't remember.

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 06/01/2009 19:17

SB, you run 3 times a week? Very commendable. DH runs twice a week, mostly cross country as it is easier on his ageing joints!

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 19:24

it's a yurt and there is a special corner for eating nuts

littlerach · 06/01/2009 19:37

Yes, murdered. Isn't it terrible? They have arrested someone, think they are both Polish, all happened Sunday/Monday.

A stone is a lot, TooT. Did you mean to? I lost half a stone sometime over the summer, without meaning to, which was weird.

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2009 19:44

You can eat nuts you're just not allowed to count them in your 10. [stern look]

TooT you lost a stone You need to eat food I am half a stone lighter than I was in January last year. I am also 7 months pg

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2009 19:47

I keep getting the urge to watch births on Home and Health type channels. Luckily I'm not catching the right time. I nearly started looking on youtube but dh looked at me like this and said 'no' quite firmly.

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 19:47

I dunno really. I was quite surprised.

You never expect murders to happen in places you know, do you.

Pink, that is pretty amazing.

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 19:48

Oh I did that Pink. Before ds2 was born. It's quite addictive.

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 19:55

FrannyandZooey · 06/01/2009 19:58

pinkspottywellies · 06/01/2009 20:03

TooT I'm surprised you had a stone to lose - did you donate a kidney or something

Glad to hear about your mum Fran.

I should be doing the ironing. I might put mamma mia on or something, as in while I iron - not instead!

TooTicky · 06/01/2009 20:04
