For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

It just dawned on me that I need to be posting courgette instead of zucchini. I know that, too.

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 06:52

Ice has formed in the bathroom. Do I laugh or cry?

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 06:55

I have been awake on and off since 3. I should have got up for a chat.

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 06:58

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 07:00

Yes, on the inside.

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 07:01

internet broke again, still broke

am on school computer, I know about coconut too but that's ages ago, and I have opinions about nuts, but it's water under the bridge now

haven't even read page one and now i have to go on a trip to a french school

am under instructions not to be late from dc3 who has suffered years of flaky mum syndrome

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 07:02

do you have a slight sense of private disappointment when there are none left to be found

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 07:04

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 07:04

OK, have read through and gather that nuts don't count, pulses do and seeds might - is that about right??

Off to read the link now.

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 09:39

coconut isn't a nut surely

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 09:41

in franny's world anyway ?

there is a campaign here to get infants back to nature ie coconut, I read an article about its benefits and they are manifold apparently

cashew butter sounds great, do you spread it on bread.. sounds like something you could put on an avocado or mix with oil and vinegar for a salad dressing

stuffitllama · 07/01/2009 09:42

hello sinking fast

TinyWhiteFeather · 07/01/2009 10:24

Have just taken DS to casualty as he hurt his wrist on a Wii sports thing, but it is only a bad sprain, and nurse said he could go to school I her.

Lol at Nut'ergate' scandal and am very tempted to give Franny a big squishy hug .

Have now got so much to do it doesn't bear thinking about. So am banned from the computer till later .

Guadalupe · 07/01/2009 12:21

Oh no, mou! Sprains are still really painful aren't they? Is the wii good?

I have taken hours to get to sleep the last two nights so I reckon it's time to ditch the coffee. Wish me luck. Will I feel ill, or will one or two cups a day not make much difference?

littlerach · 07/01/2009 12:45

Feather, a little girl at preschool had a black eye to day - from a Wii.

And my friend's daughter smashed her SIL's plasma when the Wii strap wasn't done up properly.

Seems ot be a risk hazard!!

Dh away, so i slept all night, so did dd2. I ma sure it is his snoring that wakes her up.

Leeks
raisins
Grapes

Homemade bread with sunflower seeds

Guad, I am down to one (poss 2) cups a day.
I am drinking hot water instead.
And still no cheese
Thanks again for your advice.

Guadalupe · 07/01/2009 12:51

Gosh, these wiis sound dangerous.

Well done little r- I haven't had one yet today but we'll see. There was also quite a lot of cheese on my lasagne yesterday

TinyWhiteFeather · 07/01/2009 14:11

Damn, I sat down for a drink and fell asleep!

DS is surprisingly cheerful and in love with the nurse who treated him. He does love attention though so it is never all bad with him .

But on the bus he said (oh, it wasn't our Wii, but a friends) that the friends grandma was there and when he (my DS) was winning she said that if he did win she would kick his arse.

When he did win she called him a 'little shit' !

I really do not know how to handle this and am such a coward at confrontations but this is NOT language that I use. I am so , and the mum of DS's friend didn't even blink apparently.

FairLadyRantALot · 07/01/2009 14:21

SuperBunny...thank you , we like their names....but what a malarky it was to get to that decision

avi...cooking chocolate is mega vile

Tiny, glad your son only has a sprain...and what is " nut'ergate "...???

Guadelupe...coffee , if you normally drink a lot and than cut it out...it can give you headaches etc...for a few days....! My mom still drinks coffee, but she won't drink any coffee or tea after 4-5pm....as it effects her sleep...

littlerach....my dh snores realllly badly...it's a pain in the neck innit...

As for me...well...I have been good , for me, today, so far...I had moorish chickpeas(which is chickpeas, tomatoes, green peppers, onions and sweetcorn all cooked together with cumin and cayenne pepper...lush)...so, there are several portions there...wohoo...

TooTicky · 07/01/2009 14:24

Feather, that is dreadful

I have added more photos btw. I haven't deliberately omitted any of you, so if you can't see my pics please shout.
