For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

OsmosisBOOnana · 24/10/2008 16:09

samhain

daisy99divine · 24/10/2008 16:15

Thanks OsBa!

Like the sound of scattering animal bones onto fires and walking between two bonfires for purification!

hee hee! And tossing apple peel, I can do that

FrayedKnot · 24/10/2008 18:42

Evening dear veggers

Was out last night at a salsa session which was good fun.

Am pretty much too tired to post anything tonight, but reading avidly

OsmosisBOOnana · 24/10/2008 18:47

One of my good friends in born on Beltane which is spring equinox and another big pagan hoo-ha so we would always go and take lots of mushrooms prance around like hippies at Avebury stone circle or similar.

I am quite well versed in the ways of pagan rituals strangely. How this has happened is beyond me.

fullmoonfiendbloodcurdlinghowl · 24/10/2008 18:49

oh I'd love to try salsa (2-left feet though)

DH is cooking his famous thai green curry tonight.
Tomorrow we have to go to horrid water-fun park place (swimming round in over-crowded chilly pool full of otherr people's fluids is not my idea of fun., But is a dear friend's child's birthday so we must

I am not envious of anything, btw, I just LOVE th witchy look of it

fullmoonfiendbloodcurdlinghowl · 24/10/2008 19:48

Im excited and pissed off. Eliza Carthy is playing near us and is sold out. BUT Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick are playing ij mmarch and we now have tickets (only 15 left .
This will mean nothing to nay of you, as none of you are sad bastard closet folkie fans..but we are! So be excited for me please

hammouhouseofhorror · 24/10/2008 19:50

Just been for my favourite run..half way and I realize I have Osba's stomach bug !!! Best time ever . When I get back Dd says
"take me for a run Mummy, pleeeease! you promised", so 10 minutes in the little girls room and a gruelling half an hour of 'running' and talking gobbledigook!....now I am going to disappear into a mango {carefully tended by Daisy). aaaaahhhhhhhhh

Thanks for the samhain definition Osba..

hammouhouseofhorror · 24/10/2008 20:08

OOhh Fmf, I'm a bit of a folkie fan...love Martin Simpson,(saw him live) and Christy Moore's voice is absolutely divine. Did Martin Carthy do an album called 'shearwater' or something...and the incredible string Band, so I am excited for you.

I also like Timberland, chilli peppers, Bryn Christopher, Vivaldi, Cyndi Lauper.............Mmmmmmmmmmmm music. Love it all

fullmoonfiendbloodcurdlinghowl · 24/10/2008 20:49

I was singing True Colours just yesterday

I like everything except for perhaps R&B and jazz

All folk, trance, crusty-folk-rock, electro, 80s, alternative, Blues, Rock, Indie, Punk, reggae, Ska, World Music, Dance, happily considrered

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2008 20:57

Some of my ebay is finishing tomorrow and the rest on Sunday. It's going quite well and I'm a little bit excited (been checking compulsively all week!)

I'm working tomorrow afternoon then going to my sister's on Sunday.

Cabbage, beans, banana. Nothing in the house

daisy99divine · 24/10/2008 21:23

FMV happy for you with your folky music in March though I am sadly clueless as to what it is about

Mou, so, do you need a little veggie sick bucket next to your mango ? sorry, that wasn't very fluffy and mangotastic was it!

loving the idea of Osba prancing around Avebury. I have only been there in the totally pissing rain, but still lovely

  • I like this one!
daisy99divine · 24/10/2008 21:24

oh, on the vegger front, done mushroom, raspberry jam

but I am never very good at counting

and 20 minutes swimming

daisy99divine · 24/10/2008 21:26

heh Pink, exciting about ebay. I never had any luck, just people emailing saying "what offer will you take!"

and you have lost your "blue"
... name only of course

daisy99divine · 24/10/2008 21:27

OK
I am rattling around in the yurt alone. I always seems to be in an empty yurt...

I shall leave a little nest of mangoes snuggled up for the next dear vegger
and of course some vegan chocolate for Toot

pinkspottywellies · 24/10/2008 21:52

Hello Daisy, just off to bed but thought I'd say goodnight if you're still rattling around! I lost the blue because I get too confused if I need to search back for my posts or anything. I don't name change well as the others will confirm!

I'm just about to have coffee and chocolate biscuits in bed with my book.

berolina · 24/10/2008 22:05

evening all.

Kindergarten mum is lovely

Wonderful prospective babysitter has regretfully turned us down as she has been offered another job with more hours

Must go, am composing ads for replacement.

Hope all well.

LittleMyDancingWithTheDevil · 24/10/2008 22:10

DS has been a complete monkey today, am completely exhausted. bed time, night night all!

TooTIfYouAreScared · 24/10/2008 22:23

Ds2 is 7 and he has had a good day and I have made cake and iced cake and eaten cake and have to make more cake for tomorrow. And pizzas. I think I will be up late

Haven't read properly as ou have talked so much but Guad that is shocking - I hope the school kick arse mightily.
OB - anything I can do to help?

TooTIfYouAreScared · 24/10/2008 22:24

And hello to everybody, new, old and moomin folk am not naming people individually because I am tired and would surely miss somebody and cause offence.

TooTIfYouAreScared · 24/10/2008 22:26

Tomato, onion, courgette, carrot, broccoli, leek, garlic.
Was going to have stewed apple but it got dark and the tree seemed rather far away.
