For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

Hello

Glad trip was a success, Franny. Gorgeous pictures.

I went singing. And dug the garden.

Foccacia,yum.

SuperBunny · 14/11/2008 04:03

Yes to new thread. I like Gourd morning

stuffitllama · 14/11/2008 07:37

Toot am so jealous of your focaccia I am starving and miles from any acceptable food except kitkats and pot noodles.

Excellent photos of excellent baby Fran. Lovely lovely lovely!

Daisy there was poo everywhere for hours after we went to the cranial o. My dd WAS a little baby though. Don't know if that makes a difference. She used to get bunged up for a week/ten days at a time. Oh the squawking.

stuffitllama · 14/11/2008 07:40

ps I don't mean to imply that Pot Noodles are acceptable. I mean even an apple from a fruit stall will have been washed in local water so you can't even do that and are reduced to convenience food. I repeat pot noodles are not acceptable. But my children are eating them for the first time IN THEIR LIVES because when out and about you can't just "pick something up".

CharleeInChains · 14/11/2008 07:44

Morning all.

I have someone doing the cancan in my head and it bloomin hurts!

I am supporting my sister on a new healthy eating plan startingmonday when we go shopping, were both sick to death of being fat so were going to do it together. So that will be alot of F&V for me, i have been rather lacking in it this past week.

As a result i feel like crud, i am spotty and tired.

Buy ho hum i think it will be easier with my sister doing it to, she only lives a few doors away from me so i can run to her for moral support!

mou · 14/11/2008 07:56

I am addicted to kitkats

Sympathy for headache CC. Drink lots of water...and go back to bed.

Another reason why I am the yurt dur brain.

When I first joined the thread I didn't know about listing F&V consumption. I asked if anyone could recommend high energy foods as I consume far too much red-bull. Was delighted when people were giving lists of F& V and duly went out and purchased everything 'suggested'.
No energy but ate very healthily for that week!

AAAAhhh to frans babes...'ullo franny

Hope eating plan is a success CC.

Have a good day to all.

daisy99divine · 14/11/2008 11:36

LOL Mou, I didn't realise that you did that, actually it's a good plan - eat each other's consumption lists

Stuffit, don't worry, we KNOW you don't really approve of Pot Noodles

Toot thanks for homeopath name, will try that

Like the "Gourd Morning" title mou, what about "I wandered lonely as a Cucumber"?

Good luck CIC, I too feel a bit crook, here's to betterness!

Tatties · 14/11/2008 13:02

Hello all! I shan't attempt to catch up...
We have moved and just in the process of finding our feet. Now ds has a blinking sore throat/coldy thing. Ah well.

FMV you are a darling and I have emailed you

Guad I am so sorry I missed your birthday. I did remember but then I forgot in the midst of everything [I am crap]. I hope you had a nice day.

Franny gorgeous photos! Love the one of the three of you. Do I recognise that white and yellow stripy babygrow?

I have missed you all you know. And I must have been away too long as I my menstrual cycle is all to cock with the moon now

womblingalong · 14/11/2008 13:29

Oh Franny,

What a gorgeous bundle of chubby babyness, he is scrumptious, and DS1 with him looks lovely too,but my fave by far is the one of all 3 of you, it's so sweet.

Stuffit, We are reassessing finances at the moment, can't promise we are going to come, but are aiming to towards the tail end of next year.

When we were there, we used to carry bottled water with us,and rinse fruit from roadside stalls with water and then eat it, we never got ill.

filthymindedvixen · 14/11/2008 13:35

TATTIES!!! How is everything?

Wombling!

Hello, right we must get new thread title. Am liking Gourd morning,
how about
Gourd morning Peas and yam!!
or We ate Yam? (scans better?)

daisy99divine · 14/11/2008 14:54

Gourd morning we ate yam sounds ace FMV!

still feeling grim so eaten nothing
hello Tatties
and wombling

stuffitllama · 14/11/2008 15:36

Hello all, hi Womble.. aargh just read my last posts and they sound like totally spoilt memsahib

I need to get a grip

I hope you CAN make it -- even if we don't cross paths it sounds like it will be a great trip for you. I hadn't thought of doing that with the water but tbh even if I had, I would have worried about whether it would work, because we get all the veg put through steriliq at home. Nobody is vaccinated in the family except for IPV so maybe I'm too careful.

Oh boy. Really saw myself as a spoilt whingy dusting-the-seat-before-I-sit-down person then. No more of it.

Hope all are v well -- Daisy I hope you feel better soon. Gourd morning peas and yam is super lovely though.

littlerach · 14/11/2008 15:46

LOL mOu, that is a good way to eat lots!!!

Dds are arguing all the time now, it is wearing. I put them to bed at 6.30pm last night as they were being horrid ot each other, and to me.

TooTicky · 14/11/2008 16:26

TATTIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How wonderful to see you!!

Mou, that is funny

Stuffit, that does sound hard!!

Today is so manic and tomorrow more so AND dp's mum is visiting on Sunday and it has to be tidy here otherwise she writes hurt, offended letters. She is a nice person though and bought us our car. We're just not good at tidy.

filthymindedvixen · 14/11/2008 16:51

ok everybody peeps, over here!quick before we fall off the end of the world

mou · 14/11/2008 18:58

Hope Daisy and Cic are feeling improved.

Don't worry stuffit, sometimes you need to get things off your chest before you can get them into perspective.

Sympathies over the bickering LR. I have three pots of money. 1 is mine, 1 each for the DC's. If they are mean to each other they pay a fine into each others pot, but if they are kind they get a reward out of mine. Then once a month they can spend what they have earned. It works enough of the time to help.

Hope things go well with dp's mum Toot. We are not brill at tidy either.

at title.
