General health

We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I love my sister (well, half-sister) dearly but we have nowt in common, not one thing!
Ditto my half brother.

well, I still don't get it, Bbbee, because I can't hear the youtube. I can't believe you called me casrot and a numpty.

Bee we're older than carrot by a good 3 or 4 years. So that reduces her numptyness slightly.

dd1 has a friend here, they are both naked and screaming. She seems to be regressing. School tomorrow is going to be a big shock I think.

Raisins.

spooky. knew there must have been some reason I was drawn to this tread. Certainly ain't yer witty banter

MrsC is a numpty, I'm younger than both of you (don't stone me) and I knew it. My mammaji did hum it relentlessly though when I was a nipper.

My DH's BF is called Ed Garrett, obviously we all call him Garrett. DD calls him carrot. Like it.

Right, off to prepare ridiculously fiddly pastries. May well end up with take away you kjnow.

Morning/ afternoon all

Love the title. I get it and I think I am about the same age as MrsC.

Am off to the Apple Orchard today. That's a very 10/10 thing to do, isn't it? If you discount the 40 miles I will drive to get their. And the 40 to get home again.

We will pick apples and buy pumpkin doughnuts and ride on the back of a tractor and feed the goats. If I eat 10 apples, that's allowed isn't it? It's only beans and juice that count as 1...

Hello everybody, I am back!!!!!
Had wonderful time, one dry day, one wet, saw lots of great shows, heard music, played, ate lots of fruit (it did arrive, just in time!!) - almost entirely fruit, actually

Ds1 has a shocking shiner following a brief fight with a bench.

Am eating food and sorting stuff.

We stopped off for a wee bit of shopping on the way back and was suddenly conscious of my tatty cut-offs and muddy legs as I walked down the high street.

The dcs are making Christmas lists

Dd1 still has no school uniform - she starts on Friday

Guadalupe I have posted a picture of the umbilical cord as requested on that fairy tooth thread if you still want to see it.

Toot glad you had a lovely time. Am equally disorganised about school.

Franny niceness is best way with woman - will baffle her I think.

Ok, so far today:

Two (scrumped) apples
A handful of raisins (sell by date June 2008)
6 tomatoes
Two figs
A glass of apple juice
Two clementines
3 very sour kumquats

Tonight's supper is pasta with vegetables.

Came to the decision this morning - just like that - to stop eating meat. It's strange how these things creep up on you.... DD(9) stopped eating meat 5 months ago and has stuck to it, despite loving bacon and sausages and despite being very greedy. I'm so proud of her and have been cooking meat-free meals during the week for the whole family so we can all eat the same thing when I'm on kitchen duty. DH is a bit of a carnivore so buys and cooks meat at the weekend.

I don't suppose dd and I can call ourselves vegetarians though if we're still eating fish.......
