We had peaches, we had plums, we had strawberries in the sun, but the peaches and the plums, like the strawberries are all gone - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello, well I got ds1 off to his new class this morning, he was chatting away enroute and then a little bit tearful as we met new teacher. He was so fond of the old one.
The house feels much quieter even with my dts, who are rampaging round the house after I let them watch power rangers (which I had vowed never to let them do again) just so I could talk to a good friend on the phoen this morning Well I have paid for it now.
So far so: juice, banana with my oats this morning. Mix of plum, banana and apple for lunch with tomato in my sandwhich.
Trying dt2 with no nappy again (for those of you who remember, this a long saga for me and him as he is nearly 4 now) Anyway, 6 wees in his pants/on floor later I am gritting my teeth to continue this. I will try and do a link to a thread that I have started if any one is interested who has any words of wisdom or support for me

DS is nearly at the end of first time of full time school (he's been there mornings only since January).

I think DD is missing him a bit.

Hello, sypmpathies and empathy for all with absent children. My dd just started preschool and is dead chuffed, ds is miffed at not going.

Had salad for lunch, bit of a loss of what to do for dinner tonight really, but will probably include aubergine.

My post preg weight also came off so slowly Fran, at least a year before fully off.

I think exercise rather than food change though, I was so hungry in early months I couldn't have coped on a diet, and then by 4 months eating cheesecake was a delicious habit

Actually eating lots of cheesecake for a year may have contributed to the slow weight loss.

Chicken salad for lunch and fruit for afters

  1. lettuce
  2. cherry tomatoes
  3. cucumber
  4. mushrooms
  5. sweet pepper
  6. onion (I love onions)

  1. strawberries
  2. grapes

  1. orange juice

10. kitkat

Flipping heck, I have done well (for me) on the F&V front today

I am still stupidly hungry and thirsty all the time. (I think it is the round the clock breastfeeding of my toddler and newborn)

So I am drinking plenty of water/tea and trying to replace the junk food with F&V.

SuperBunny, you should be able to see them now

OB,. sorry I don' have LittleRach's address.

I went school uniform/clothes shopping thismorning with all 4 dcs, and I am menstruating heavily, at that stage where it feels as if my bum will fall out if I don't sit down.
Do I get a sticker?

Avi, that's lovely. I love the way family resemblances can skip generations then suddenly turn up.
Dd2's brown eyes are a mystery though.

Ds1 came out and said well, you needn't have worried about me wearing Converse to school, one of the teachers said 'nice trainers'.

That's great Idris

Avi, yes, don't you feel like that on the first couple of days of your period? As if everything will just drop out.

I am just about to go to my friend's private view for her textile culture MA. She only had her baby ten days ago and he was 10lbs 12oz! He is lovely. I got them a red blanket and she had it wrapped round the sling today with his little black fuzzy head poking out. Made me quite broody.

All of my babies have been blondish which is odd considering dh and I are so dark. My friend's family are all very blonde except their babies have black hair. Very strange.

What is textile culture? Is it arty stuff? [wistful]

Do you know, I almost don't get broody any more.

Guadalupe · 02/09/2008 16:22

culture of textiles?? I don't know, they make lovely things involving textiles anyway. There will be beautiful cloth and noise and wine and interesting things and it will make me miss art
school.
