Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

actually I need a permission slip or excuse me note Fran
I'm not going to be good on f & v for three weeks because of the move, i am so jumpy and just surviving on don't know what really
but you could run the lights off me at the moment i have this default condition of tension
cooking is a settled homey thing for me which we are not at the moment, and i can just about manage to throw together five for the children
dh is going to be eating lots of pate and bread and shop bought curry--
but all my carbs are unrefined?
and i'm hoping you all forget cyteen moved without being a fruity flake

so can i still be here whilst being really rather crap

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:07

yes i was a refusnik too, so much so that a friend made up an email address for me, found a pic off my dh's profile and just did it for me -- only now two weeks later am i indulging
perhaps the tenners should do it for you

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:07

stuffit I understand and you can be on half rations but you need to eat
anyone can have a banana and an apple, and get yourself the occasional shop bought salad or soup as well as curry
you poor soul
of course you can still be here

ds has just made a bird feeder by hanging a party hat from a nail in the garden

OP posts:
stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:09

you're right -- i'll be back to raw carrots and bananas

couldn't possibly lie that would be against the 10-10 code code of honour

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:10

like the bird feeder
your dh sounds about as handy as mine
was the nail already banged in

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:11

yes I didn;t MEAN it of course

I was thinking those of us capable should have a boot camp really
I think we are losing focus
or fibre
or something
would it be helpful?

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:11

LOL no it was ds! yes nail was left over from a catherine wheel on fireworks night
I thought it was quite ingenious

ffs stuffit it is not compulsory - i ahve been so crap since i started my course - i very rarely report my intake just enjoy the 10/10 vibe and pick up a few tips for upping the intake.

don't go.

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:13

i'll be ready for a boot camp after this fer sure
the children will need it for resettling as they are better mooded and more patient when they are on full strength f & v (plus supplements but I don't know who does those)

BBBee · 15/06/2008 09:14

maybe bootcamp would be good.

i have the desire for 10/10 but lack the organisation - discuss.

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:14

hi bbee
ha ! in that case my dh is as handy as your five year old
probably less so to be honest
he leaves the house when i put ikea furniture together

IdrisTheDragon · 15/06/2008 09:16

Hello new thread

I am your friend now stuffit .

BBBee is my friend - she is wearing a big pink hat in her picture. And pinkspotty wellies is also my friend and also wearing a big pink hat.

We are going to a christening in 1 hour and 15 minutes. As DH and I are godparents I think we should get there a little earlier than the second it starts.

Weather is lovely and party afterwards is in a farm

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:16

of course anyone is welcome to come here just for chat or whatever but I noticed recently several people saying they were struggling with the f+v / exercise side

shall we try to concentrate on it a bit more this week, what do you reckon, or would people rather just muddle along?

Bee we can do you a makeover if you tell us what you eat and when you shop etc
we can organise you

OP posts:
stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:16

thanks bbeee I won't go it's too nice
plus it gives my dh an excuse to shake his head in puzzlement
he is most amused by cunting mango reports

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:17

some kind of big pink hat clique, hmmmmm

IdrisTheDragon · 15/06/2008 09:17

I have just spotted two mangoes in the fruit bowl. Did Franny pay a surprise visit and leave them there?

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 09:17

Franny - you have ignored the title requests and chosen the one of your fancy. Now when we said relax and indulge yourself....

I am up for bootcamp, I have gorged myself this weekend and despite having a rather large slice
of Mars lemon cake yesterday I also ate an almond croissant at midnight and completely stuffed myself in between. I am craving cake this morning, or croissants, or toast with jam. Carbs and sugar basicly.

stuffit - have you not noticed, we are all often really quite crap.

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 09:18

for this week at least
idris excellent! on all fb fronts!

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 09:18

oh I forgot to say what we had at Boco's
big fruit salad with really excellent mango in
rocket and hummus and MrsC made a lovely quinoa thing
and MN lemon drizzle! was very nice and moist and solid. I thought excellent.
