Cantaloupe, cantaloupe! Will you eat the bad mango? - 10 / 10 thread

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

what about a taxi?

LullyOfShallot · 15/06/2008 12:06

gulp....would cost a small fortune

Boco · 15/06/2008 12:06

Guadalupe not ugly and clumpy. Sounds like a mysterious, dark heavy breasted woman eating melons by moonlight to me.

LullyOfShallot · 15/06/2008 12:06

he is always late
I should learn

LullyOfShallot · 15/06/2008 12:07

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 12:07

well, yes, and perhaps that will make him think again before standing you both up with no explanation.

I would be at that table by now, orderiing myself something mighty fine.

LullyOfShallot · 15/06/2008 12:09

hmmmmmmm....but he wouldn't pay for taxi & then i would be broke for the next fortnight

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 12:09

Boco!!!

That's put me right off it now

I am trying to get away form the dark by moonlight, and the heavy breasts for that matter. Oh bloody hell, I am the grumpy on at the back.

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 12:10

LullyOfShallot · 15/06/2008 12:10

Can you cancel the booking and go somewhere else with ds that you can walk to, leaving a note for dh? Have you phoned his mobile? I would be furious if it was me.

Hello dear Veggers

Hope you made it to lunch, Lully

TooT hope you found some breakfast and have made up for it since

I would be quite on for bootcamp next week as I will have carb stuffing PMT

I cooked Sunday lunch for both sets of parents today, with choice of three puddings - trfile, bread and butter and lemon meringue

FrannyandZooey · 15/06/2008 16:33

we have sailed dp's pirate boat
all went well until he got cocky and tried to sail it under a willow tree which was overhanging the lake (well ok I challenged him to do it)
it capsized and floated on its side getting further and further out of reach while we watched for about an hour
I told dp to go and phone the park rangers who are a) very nice
b) all friends of ds's
c) probably slightly bored on a Sunday afternoon
but he was too embarrassed

so I went and flagged some down in their little ride around tractor thing and the older one called Dave went and got waders and went out with a big hoe right in the middle of the lake
very exciting
attracted a small crowd of Italian tourists
and bravely rescued the boat and waded back looking really biblical, or like Neptune or something, with snowy white hair and a massive hoe
it was superb
Brave Dave
do you think we should get him a present? if so what?

am now a 30 something boy living nowhere

UnderRated · 15/06/2008 17:12

Morning

Love the title.

Stuffit, you have mail.

What was MrsC's quinoa thing?

I should go to the shop but am feeling lazy. I need a boot camp.

I was told off for making too much noise during labour

Guadalupe is also a river

Erm, thats it

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 17:17

The boat sounds like fun!

We enjoyed the park event, it's 80th birthday or something. There was a brass band playing Jerusalem and the like, and people drinking bad tea and emergency service vehicles for children to climb in and people smiling with ice-creams and queues everywhere. Ds1 had a fab day playing football and then on the way home there was thunder and lightening. So, quite an English day all in all, like something from a Shirley Hughes.

Then, we have arrived home to the fruits of my industry this morning. A huge casserole, lemon drizzle and two rhubarb crumbles. I expect we won't eat all of it but we will have a good go.

Guadalupe · 15/06/2008 17:19

it was just a salad, UR, fairly basic like a tabbuleh. Is it a river too? An island, a river, a fruit and a virgin. How versatile I am.

UnderRated · 15/06/2008 17:43

Versatile indeed, MrsC - I have a song called Gudalupe - about a woman and the river.

Tabbouleh sounds good. Must branch out and make some interesting things.

at the Britishness of your afternoon

BBBee · 15/06/2008 17:47

i am in love with dave the boat rescuer.

i am unplannable at the minute. my life is all over the place next week so i need quick pick-up-able f/v treats - myh children are eating well at school and home - my plans are good there with nice lunches etc. butwhere i am concerned it goes out the window.

after that i will be more home based and less mad and can buy and cook at home a bit better.

for now on the run ideas would be great - i usually buy a sandwich at sainsburys / boots type place and sometimes an apple.

it is very bad.

stuffitllama · 15/06/2008 18:09

lol at boat crisis, Dave sounds like the sort of man you need around at these moments

when i read it first i thought you were on the boat being pulled to shore liek the queen or something

as we are sharing i'm afraid i told a doctor to f* off during labour as i was terrified he was going to say "SECTION!" (he did )

i've googled avipom, it's not an antacid thing it's a French potato supplier

ho ho!

ur jolly good i've got you (mwah hah hah hah haaaaaah)
