For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello

We went to see my sister and her DH this afternoon. They have a Wii Fit and we all played with it

Broad beans, Runner beans, raisins, apple juice, raspberries in a minute (on offer in Morrisons ). I feel there should have been more.

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 21:47

I do not like loopy, Franny, but I am in transition. I may even just go baclk to carrotcake. I do like that a lot, the cake.

Poor toot, tell them to be quiet, or put them all to bed and watch a nice film.

what are you packing, franny, big pants? washbag? homeopathy?

IdrisTheDragon · 07/06/2008 21:48

I am glad that my parents live far enough away to need to let us know if they are coming here. I think.

FrannyandZooey · 07/06/2008 21:51

LOL homeopathy
you know what a fan of it I am

yes big pants
really big pants
big enough to go over my head

FrannyandZooey · 07/06/2008 21:51

carrotcake is nice
can we call you (Mrs)C if you go back to that?

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 21:53

she did text a bit before, it read, word for word, 'I might come and have a cup of tea this afternoon. I thought yesterday was Thursday.'

Oh, well, it was Friday mother but come for tea anyway. What has that got to do with coming to tea today, we have had no arrangement.

My sister just turned up. She came up from Suffolk as her eventing has not gone too well the last few weeks and she is miserable. Her boss is not pleased if their head groom is elimated from a major event twice in a row. That is the talk of the village.

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 21:54

yes, I forgot you are not a believer

carrot, carrotcake, cake, yes, still call me MrsC. You can call me that now.

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 21:56

UnderRated · 07/06/2008 21:58

Where's Bero? Who is apomegranate?

Guadalupe · 07/06/2008 22:01

Bero has left hasn't she?

talilac · 07/06/2008 22:02

Hello may I join?

I have done no exercise today and am unlikely to as its a bit late.

HOWEVER I have had: banana, salad with lettuce, tomatoes and carrots, Apple and Rhubarb crumble (made with homegrown rhubarb, can I count that twice?), peas and apple juice.

Darn, thats only 7 (if I'm being generous.)

Will do better tomorrow.

UnderRated · 07/06/2008 22:16

Hello Talilac, welcome. 7 is better than I did today. I did go for a long (but slow) walk

I forgot Bero left - is it just a break?

I weeded my garden. That must count...

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:20

hello talilac welcome
hello all
banana
up early to see my daughter off on a week long school trip, the house will seem v empty without her, she has a sack of tuck from the petrol station after being taken by her dad to buy treats
the hockey was fantastic and dd and her mate got to knock at the end with the Pakistan centre forward and took sticks and balls for autographs
have to say the players (it was men's hockey) were all huge and tall and gorgeous -- dh says we can go to see australia next week and i didn't protest
how is everyone

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2008 07:20

Hello talila, make yourself at home. I think counting your portions as 7 was very generous but I should really let that pass as you are new (and as I claim to have eaten 4 portions of cabbage yesterday)

Please have a look at the portion chart linked to in the OP if you haven't already done so, and ask us if you need any support / encouragement / want to moan about your dp or whatever

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2008 07:21

hockey, ooh that sounds cool
I've never seen hockey played properly, only by myself and other schoolgirls

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:22

i like loopy, ur you are the the only one not being silly with veggie names
I didn't know bero had left either, I will read back

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:23

franny it's SO FAST, you can't watch sticks and balls at the same time, it's just a blur

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:24

how's the bag packing going

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2008 07:27

stuffit I bet it is fab
dp used to play ice hockey - insane
(pre-us so I never saw him)

I have sort of got up early to do a bit more bag packing
obviously I have to sit here on MN and eat fruit for an hour first
what are you up to?

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:31

just leaving any minute
they have a craze at this school for taking children away from their parents
so dd is off until Friday night to N o r m a n d y

FrannyandZooey · 08/06/2008 07:31

stuffedaubergine · 08/06/2008 07:38
